First off, I want to commend Miro and his business for the community work and ethics of "giving back." It's the reason why I chose to move with them. I noticed in his pictures that he participated in relief funds for disasters and repurposes/recycles the junk people want gone. He has a business ethics model with which I can identify. Secondly, but just as important, his prices were fair and his communication was efficient while being courteous. He is responsive and reasonable. No troubles with communication and organizing the move at all. Last and perhaps most important, his guys showed up on time (6 mins early) on the day of the move. Erik and Odell worked well with each other. They were both efficient and careful with our stuff. Erik is hearing impaired and I kept forgetting and sometimes saying things while standing behind him. However, that's my problem and not on him. Odell was personable and Erik is a very sweet person. As movers, excellent but also pleasant human beings. I did notice that Odell is a smoker but it isn't any of my business what he does on his own time. Just mentioning in case anyone else cares. There's an overload of dust and allergens with moving anyway so not a deal breaker for me. Oh! Odell was a godsend with having his tools with him! My hubby had gone to return our U-Box things and Odell took the legs/feet off my elliptical very quickly with great proficiency, with Erik's support, and we got the whole move done within our scheduled time without going over. Thank you, Miro, Odell and Erik! read more

We had an old broken hot tub that I cut up into pieces and really didn't want to figure out how to get rid of. Called at about 3 pm on a Thursday, they responded quickly and showed up as scheduled Friday morning. 20 minutes later, they had everything on their truck and even swept up the driveway where they loaded the truck! read more

I hired Hodgepodge when I was moving. They did a excellent job. Everyone in the team were professional and completed the work in good timing without wasting anytime. I would recommend them for anyone needing movers! read more

HodgePodge - Junk Removal & Hauling Near Me

We ended up needing to move out of our home much faster than expected and I found myself without a mover lined up. I panicked when all the companies I was familiar with were booked. I ended up with hodgepodge honestly because they were available the day I needed. I was so nervous! They were responsive, reasonably priced and showed up right on time and got the job done efficiently. My husband was even happy and he's much harder to please than I am. We will be lining them up on our next move late this summer we were so pleased! read more

We had hodgepodge remove several pieces of furniture. They got back to me right away with a fair price. They came in two days couldn't have been more professional. Great to do business with. read more

I've moved quite a few times in the past 8 years, and this was one of the most efficient moving companies I've ever worked with. The movers were able to complete the job 2 hours earlier than estimated despite dealing with less than ideal specifications from my unit's HOA requirements. Additionally, I had shopped around for estimates from several other companies, and HodgePodge charged me half of what the other competitors wanted. When I'm ready to move again, I will definitely use them. read more

I hired Hodgepodge because I needed to move some stuff from my parents house into another location & move some furniture into my house. I had a GREAT experience! I called their office line, spoke to Pam, who coordinated all of the paperwork (she sent me the contract while we were on the phone, so quick!), and answered all of my questions. The day of, Erik and Dante were our movers. They were on time, professional, polite, and very careful with all of the furniture. At the end of it all, Miro (one of the owners) reached out to ask about my experience and if I had any feedback, which was really nice because it obviously shows he cares about the reputation of his company. I would 100% recommend HodgePodge to family & friends in the future. read more

My daughter's former landlord threw all of her and her roommates' belongings down into the rat-infested basement of their former apartment. He threatened to throw it out if it wasn't moved immediately. I needed someone who could quickly bring the salvageable stuff to storage and dispose of the things that were ruined. I called and HodgePodge had a crew of three At the location the following morning. They met my daughter and got the job done within three hours. They were friendly and efficient. I highly recommend these guys if you've got to move stuff from one place to another. read more

Great moving experience! They started earlier than expected. They moved my four bedroom house out of storage quickly, professionally and carefully. Robert, Ken, John and Danny were so understanding that I needed to place furniture protectors under almost EVERY piece of furniture because of new hardwood floors...very patient. These guys work hard and well together. Awesome team! VERY PLEASE!! THANK YOU!! read more

They did a very nice job moving out some furniture from a 2 story condo to a storage locker and also disposed of some couches and mattresses. Very reasonable pricing for what was provided. I would use them again in the future. read more

One of the better moving experiences I've had. The movers themselves did an excellent job, and the company itself was extremely responsive and accommodating, even when we had to add a larger item to the move on the day. I'd recommend them to anyone in the area or beyond! read more

HodgePodge has done it again! I used this company last year for a move and I was quite impressed, so when I needed a mover again I called Hodgepodge for moving service for March 6, 2020. I called on short notice and they were able to accomodate the date that I needed. The pricing was reasonable and Wendell and Larod did an excellent job. They arrived timely and finished timely. They were very nice and polite, and had a good sense of humor. They worked nonstop during the entire move. I am so happy that I was able to use HodgePodge again. The movers were outstanding! I highly recommend HodgePodge and plan to use them again for another upcoming family move. Thanks Miroslaw! read more

Kyle and John were amazing. They worked very hard to move me quickly and safely. The process with Hodge Podge was easy, payment was easy, and the contract was clear. Thanks for making my move simple without worry. I appreciate it and plan to call Hodge Podge again if I ever have to move. read more

These guys were on time and courteous. Contacted Miro through Yelp and he promptly got back to us with a quote that seemed fair.

The company was able to make last minute changes. Very accommodating. Professional movers with good attitudes

Hodge Podge helped us move from our apartment in Jefferson Park in Chicago to a house in the Northwestern suburbs. They packed up our apartment quickly, excellently wrapping fragile items with blankets, bubble wrap and clear wrap, and took care of everything from beginning to end. Except for a broken small glass shelf and a scratch on the wall of the staircase, everything went well. The guys even helped out on moving a special delivery (paddleboat!) we weren't expecting at the new house from the driveway to the backyard. Friendly crew, good service. Miro was attentive to our needs and was reasonable with negotiating prices. Would definitely recommend. read more

I requested a quote from several different companies and the response I got from HodgePodge was quick and friendly. I sent them pictures of the items in my home that I would need moved. They responded quickly with a reasonable and fair price. I moved 5 hours away and the movers were friendly and professional. They arrived on time and worked efficiently. They also took really good care of my belongings. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I was very pleased with my entire experience with Hodge Podge. I originally messaged them for a quote through Yelp, and received a quick response. Customer service was very quick to respond to additional follow up questions. For the day of the move, the movers arrived exactly when they said they would, were incredibly friendly and easy to work with, and were very efficient. I'd be happy to use them again for a future move. read more

They were able to accommodate my move on one of the busiest moving days of the year when other moving companies were booked. Miro went above and beyond to get me on the day we had to move out of our last apt. It was also one of the hottest days of the year and the guys did a great job, they kept moving the whole time. They were also friendly and polite throughout the whole move. I would definitely use this company again. read more

Hodge Podge helped me with my move from the south side of Chicago to the north side. They were very courteous, responsive, and took good care of my belongings. They wrapped the furniture in plastic wrap to help keep it protected and to keep the drawers from opening during the move. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it took a lot longer than I thought it would. The original price quote was much less than what we ended up paying because we had more stuff than I originally anticipated, and some of it was miscellaneous and hadn't been boxed up at the end, and was being carried in basket-carts. (My fault for running out of boxes.) However, there were three guys, and it was a 2-bedroom apartment's worth of stuff. It was enough to fill a truck and a half and it took over 9 hours, with a pay by-the-hour service. But, they did a great job, and I'm not sure if it would have gone faster with any other company. They kept on the job until it was done and remained professional and flexible throughout the process. read more
