Thanks DMS for getting our office moved AND picking up and disposing of moving and furniture boxes. Mr. Lee and his crew are the best!!! Previously they moved supplies and materials to/from our office to a meeting space for an annual convention - it was quick and affordable. We will definitely use again! read more

The DMS who moved my possessions over 2 days was a scam. They were not real movers. After the move, I was missing every piece of heirloom jewelry. Everything my dead husband had given me. All my memories of him. This is the address they used which is an apt building. All of their phone numbers h a ve been disconnected so I guess they've moved on. Is this the Dms read more

dont book this guys!!! they didn't show up on moving day, I tried calling them they picked up and hanged up on me!! don't go to them if you dont want any headache on your moving day! read more

With pricing too good to be true and a team that worked thoroughly and carefully with all of our belongings, I have to say this team has to be Chicago's best kept secret. Our move from River North to Arlington Heights was hands down my best moving experience ever. I've had movers break our things. These guys handle your property as if it was their own. Every wood item in our home was carefully wrapped in blankets by the team and our non-wood furniture was wrapped expertly with no hidden cost. The crew was incredibly friendly and efficient. There were even multiple status check-in calls from management to both the crew chief and myself. I've never known a company to take so much care to ensure satisfaction and efficiency. DMS Moving is truly a must if you are moving and want the best value in the area and high quality professionalism during your move. Thank you so much to Lee, Jimmie, Kevin and Darryl. You guys are my first call when we purchase our first home!!! read more

DMS Movers - This was just the beginning of the load, but you can see how well they pack the truck. - Movers Near Me - Chicago Heights, Illinois

Second time hiring DMS moving for my one bedroom. Communication went smoothly and the crew was friendly and great. Although my stuffs are moved out today I am moving in to a new apartment months later so I needed a storage for my stuffs. DMS' moving in-storage-out rate was affordable and I did not find any economic reason to use other private storage services. So long as I stay in Chicagoland, DMS moving is my choice. read more

I have to honestly say I wanted to like this moving company because some of the workers and the owner, Lee are good people. But there are some of the workers that are rude, unprofessional, and spiteful. After they were late getting there, they move me out so slow, I got charged a late fee. As well as everything that they 'put back together' broke. There was also damaged and broken pieces of furniture/lamps I am giving them the three stars because the Coordinator, Lee and the two movers (not the packer) were very helpful and really nice people read more

I had DMS to move me. This is part of my of my first review. I had been calling them to notify them my furniture such as my bed is loose and had screws coming out because it was not properly put together. No one has yet to return my calls. This evening as I was coming in, I heard a loud thump, went into my bedroom my mirror had fell off my dresser and lucky it landed between the dresser and heater. Also I had purchased new furniture as well and I was told they didn't properly put my mirror together. All I want is my furniture to be properly tighten up. Bad business from these people and I have pictures read more

This moving company really assisted my family in our move this weekend. I initially hired another company that fell short and I was worried about hiring another company on short notice but Mr.Lee came through for my family. They moved my items from a 1st floor to a 3rd floor and it went very smooth. They wrapped my tv's (which I wasn't expecting that) and also some of the glass ware too. They really calmed my nerves and I was able to just relax. Especially with having a cold too while moving which didn't help I was glad to be able to have my things moved by some fantastic people. When I move again and if any of my friends plan on moving I will HIGHLY recommend hiring this company. read more

The DMS gentleman were excellent I cannot recall all of there names but the owners son, John and two other men assisted us. We were scheduled for four hours but ended up going over the allotted time. They were very patient and extremely helpful and hardworking. I would definitely recommend them in the future! Job well done! read more

I hired DMS movers after getting a quote from another moving company that would have cost me over double what DMS charged. Although the move started off later than the original start time once they got there they did an AWESOME job. The crew I had was NaNa (who seemed to be the supervisor) and Kyle and Quabe (I'm sure I'm spelling his name wrong). When I say these young men worked and were beyond HUMBLE it is truly an understatement. We had a move from Crestwood (2nd floor apt) with one stop at our storage facility to our home in Homewood. They took down everything, wrapped it, packed our hanging clothes and once we got to the final location they set up everything. Once everything was final I got to talk to Quabe and Kyle who were two young men and they were very respectful and as I assured Quabe I'd MOST def leave a review because when I say these young men WORKED, they worked and did an AWESOME job. I have already given out DMS' information to a couple people that I know that are moving and I pray that they use them because they will not be disappointed. read more

My elderly aunt had to move on short notice and this company was the only one able to accommodate her. The owner was very professional and ensured everything would be taken care off. On moving day, the movers arrived 10 mins early to assess the area. When we attempted to explain what we wanted to be taken, the response was "we got this. Let us do what we do." So they proceeded to make a list of everything that was needed to be transported. We mainly wanted them to transport heavy load and clothing. Firstly, they forgot several items. When we called to tell them, they scheduled a second pick up. That was a no show. As far as the clothing within the closet, they failed to bring an adequate amount of wardrobe boxes. Then stated it would take too long to them and only took 1/4 of 1 closet of hanging clothes. We have since tried to contact them with fail. I would never recommend this company. read more

I hired DMS for a somewhat last minute move at the beginning of May. They were the only service that was available in my requested timeslot, and I was able to pre-pay for part of the move via Paypal, which automatically confirmed my move date and time. Then then called me within an hour to confirm the move and hash out the details. They recommended an extra man then what I had originally booked, which was fine and didn't end up costing anything extra. On the move day, they called me ton confirm the timeframe they'd be arriving in. They ended up coming on the extreme late side of that timeframe, which was my only complaint. However once they arrived they worked quickly. I had a limited timeframe to get all of my stuff in my new place, and they moved a one bedroom apartment in Ravenswood to a one-bedroom in the South Loop in about 4 hours. That is pretty darn fast. Overall, the booking was easy, they worked fast, nothing got damaged in the move and everyone was friendly and helpful. Not to mention the price was way lower than any other move I've ever had. I would recommend. read more

DISCLAIMER: The owner of the company asked me to write a review. And, I'm sure he asks every client do so. Why? Because he's a small business, his reputation and referrals are the key to his livelihood, and because he needs the results to market for him. That being said, I would have written a 5-star review regardless. Lee helped me out of an immense jam under tight deadline and with many different requests and twists to the move. And he and his crew handled them professionally, cordially, and without any up charge or last minute change. The story is too long to break out, but I needed a mover with 72 hours notice, one that could arrange to keep property on a moving truck for an additional 48 hours, a start first thing Monday morning, AND help setting up storage since I was out of state. Lee and his employees handled it all, charging me EXACTLY what they said they would, and with zero complaints from my tenant - who was under intense pressure due to her own delayed move. If you want to to deal with a big name, go ahead. If you want to feel like a big deal as a client, and get things done properly, at a fair price, and with respect, call Lee. read more

I have now used this company for three different moves. One large full house move and two other smaller new furniture deliveries. They are very professional and willing to accommodate scheduling at the last minute whenever possible. I would recommend them for any moving job. Large or small. Their rates are very competitive and usually the lowest, even though their service is excellent. read more

If I could give more stars I would!! I contacted this company after the movers I'd initially hired bailed on me. Mr Lee was able to send over a moving crew in under two hours notice! The crew was extremely professional and they moved quickly! I would recommend this company over & over again! Thank you guys for saving my day! read more

Excellent. I was very unsure what I would get especially since the last movers I had were horrible but from the very start Mr. Lee made sure I was good. I had 4 men including Mr. Lee and they made my move from one house to another a smooth transition. They were prompt, professional and very polite. Thanks so much to Mr. Lee and his crew Mike, Tay and the young man with the hat. I appreciate ya'll and I will use and refer you in the future. read more

I hired these guys recently on short notice and they were able to accoumedate. The service isn't professional, they damaged my furniture and the wall in hall way I would not recommended them. read more

I had a great experience with DMS movers. I was moving at the end of July and I could not find movers I had moved with previously - so I took a chance on DMS based on the yelp reviews. I couldn't be happier. They were on time, professional, and quick. Absolutely no complaints. And above all they were reasonable. I had 2 guys, both of whom were great, and they moved me out and in in under 2 hours. Will use them again. read more

My husband and I had a moved scheduled at 6 pm yesterday, the movers came at 5. Which was perfect for us. I had a dining room set, 1 queen bed set with dressers, 1 king bed set with dressers and other miscellaneous items. I decided at the last minute I wanted to move some items to a storage unit, DMS workers were more than accommodating. They did inform me of the additional stop charge which was no issue at all. It took about 5 hrs or so for them to get done. My rate was $149 an hour, based on both locations having 3 flights of stairs. The workers work so hard I was amazed that even at 10 pm, they were still energetic and in good spirits. My funiture was wrapped and stored neatly in my storage unit, as well as in my home. They put together everything they had taken apart. I will definitely be using them again! read more

They were great! I moved on a Saturday which is usually busier downtown, and they were on-time, friendly, and very efficient. They were able to move a complicated bed frame/drawer piece of furniture by taking it apart and correctly building it back together. They were careful with all of my stuff, and for the price you can't beat the service. I would definitely recommend them to a friend and use them again. read more

I had an excellent experience with these guys. I just moved to Chicago two days ago, and I don't know anyone or how anything works here. I called them early in the morning on Wednesday (around 8:00am), and I had Lee from the office call me right back with a flat-rate quote of $199 for two movers for 3 hours, and they could do it the same day. I was overjoyed. I had called three others businesses prior, and they were booked solid until the following week. They arrived on time. I had two great gentlemen unload my 10' foot moving truck and bring it up a second floor walk-up. They were fast and careful, and couldn't have been more polite. The price was very fair, and best of all, I got it done the same day--which was my biggest urgency. I would recommend this business to anyone. They are good guys who do great work and the price and service was great. read more

Sean and Kevin helped me move a couple of weeks ago and they really did a great job. They took extra care with one of my couches and explained to me that there were different ways of taking it apart (that no one had ever told me before). They moved quickly and relatively carefully and were really nice guys. I will definitely book them again the next time I move. Plus, the quote they gave me was the cheapest that I found. read more

I'm moving across the country, so I just needed movers to load my furniture into a POD to be shipped to my new location. After calling different Chicagoland moving companies (who have high ratings) for an estimate of the cost for LABOR ONLY, I found that they were all adding $150-$300 extra to simply drive to my apartment. When I contacted DMS, not only did they give me a lower rate than any other moving company I contacted, but they were also able to give me a labor only estimate without charging me extra for the ride to and from my home. On the day of my move, the movers arrived promptly, were quick and efficient with loading my funiture, and were sure to keep me informed of their every move. I will definitely recommend DMS to my friends and family who plan to move in the future. read more

Lee has a fantastic moving service, offered at a good price. On our move day, Lee himself was on site, and crew included Mike and Jeremiah-- all three were positive, helpful, and experienced, and made our moving process much less stressful. Though we were only moving across the neighborhood, we'd definitely look to use them again if we found ourselves in need. read more

I wish I could review the service but they never contacted me back after I booked online. I called them several times and they never answered the phone or returned my call. I went with another company. read more

This is actually probably the worst place you could use to move your furniture. It's not because the guys didn't work hard. It's because they don't use enough materials to wrap your furniture to protect it during the move. I used another company the very next day called MakeSpace and they wrapped my furniture like they were the moving the Presidents furniture so that even when someone makes a mistake it would have been protected. This is the poor mans moving company for items that probably disposable to you and I didn't know that. However if they don't rectify damaging my 4K customer MGBW couch I will become a giant pain in their asses!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I needed movers for a 2br 2ba apartment to move me from Lakeview to the west loop. I also had to move out by the end of the month but couldn't move in until the second day of May, so I needed to keep my things in a uhaul for two days. Mr Lee was very accommodating and he was able to arrange to have the truck loaded on a Thursday and unloaded on a Saturday. The two movers arrived on time as promised and were very careful with my belongings. The price was very reasonable since I had to supply the truck/gas. I would hire them again. I supplied the moving truck, moving blankets, and a dolly. They brought a wooden piano dolly, tape, and plastic cling wrap. read more

I am more than a 2 months late writing this review, but life got the best of me. I just have to say that DMS movers are respectful and professional movers who went above and beyond to help me with my move. I had a few last minute items that they had no problem moving for me and moved quickly and efficiently. I went from a 1st floor walkup unit to a 3rd floor walkup, and there were no complaints. They ensured they were careful with everything, broke anything that needed to be broken down and put it back up and were mindful of walls and hardwood floors. If there were any issues, they let me know beforehand and Lee spoke with me on the phone when everything was done to ensure I was happy. Would definitely recommend and though I don't plan to move any time soon, would definitely use their services again. read more

As bad as it gets Lee and his employees were recommended to me by two coworkers, so I thought I was in good hand. They came and "eyeballed" the furniture to be moved and remarked on how easy the move would be: "It's like a no move to us", they said. I felt like everything would be ok. But on the day of the move they managed to damage $7000.00 worth of furniture, and among which they literally broke in half $2000.00 worth of furniture (marble table, lamps). When faced with the evidence of their incompetency they started arguing that they did not cover damage on glass and thus would not pay for the repair of the marble table. I had to prove to them that marble is not glass! They also said that most of the scratches were easily fixable with spray paint and so they bought spray paint in order for me to be able to paint back my furniture. The colors of the paints did not match even one of the scratched surfaces. They eventually agreed to pay the repair of table and the repair of two chairs off of which they had ripped off the leather pretty badly. It took two months of me running after them by text, emails (that were rarely returned), letters threatening them to call a layer and phone calls for them to return my chairs (not repaired) along with a monetary compensation of only $650 (when they broke several thousand dollars worth of furniture). It turned out they were simply incapable of performing this thing that was "like a no move" to them. It was a calvary. Bottom line: If you are looking for a cheap, incompetent, unresponsive moving company and don't care about having your stuff damaged, they are your perfect fit. In any other case, just ask 3 or 4 of your friends (any friends, not even muscled --even kids) that are not doing anything on a Saturday to help you move, because they will perform MUCH better. read more

My husband and I were very pleased with the service we received. They were polite, experienced and efficient with there time.

They were very respectful and professional when handling my furniture. They made sure to take the boxes to the rooms that I had marked on the boxes( kitchen, bedroom etc.). They worked around the furniture delivery guys who were also there setting up my daughters bedroom furniture with no problems. My husband was very happy with the price and he felt he got more than he paid for with this moving service. They did start a hour later than I requested but they called me the night before to let me know that, so I didn't mind. I will be recommending them in the future to my family and friends looking to move. read more

The best decision I've made in hiring a professional mover. I thank the universe for leading me to this company. I was desperately seeking to hire movers at the last minute due to another company having cancelled a reservation at the last minute. I learned of DMS Moving Service from Yelp and reserved their services overnight online. These guys turned out to be heroes in disguise and provided me with honest, high caliber moving service at a super reasonable price. I highly recommend DMS movers to consumers who desire to hire a company with honest, hardworking and reliable men who perform their service with a level of competency that is commendable. Thank you DMS and Yelp. read more

Amazing service, they were very careful with all of my things and were extremely fast. They even drove the truck that I rented myself. They allowed credit card payment without a surcharge. Great experience. read more

Lee and his guys were superb movers, a joy to work with, and very generous. We severely underestimated how much time we would need them for (to load a 26' truck three times for a cross neighborhood move), but but they were able to accommodate (on a weekend when every mover seemed booked). Lee even came back the next day to haul the final load for free, because he had a few spare hours with a truck between jobs. Great price.
