We were doing a move that did not require a moving truck (we were moving between condos in adjacent…read moreproperties), and hired Bara to help move our large/heavy items that we could not move ourselves. Unfortunately, things did not go as well as I had hoped. The movers were delayed in arriving. We have a larger than normal couch, and they attempted to bring it in the front and it did not fit, and in the process significant damage (scuffed, scraped walls, damaged light fixture) was done, as well as wasted time. Other more typical minor damage, however much of that was just from sloppy work. These are things I would not expect from experienced movers. While on-site I negotiated for extra time to finish moving the items that we needed help with, however upon reflection that really only made up for poor decisions on the part of the movers (not bringing the couch in the back, and not labeling dresser drawers and then spending a lot of time to figure out which one goes where). In the end, I will spend more time and almost as much money fixing all the damage as I did for the move. I did contact Lansana after I was fully aware of the extent of all of the issues, and offered what I thought was a fair deal to make things right, but he refused to make any refund at all. On the plus side, Lansana has been responsive to communication and polite in all correspondence. I will say the up-front price was reasonable compared to other movers, but more costly than using hired hourly work. For myself, the mark of a business is what they do when things go wrong, and unfortunately despite all the things that did go well (and we are moved in), I think they missed the mark here.

I would highly recommend Executive Moving Services to others needing a moving company in Northwest Indiana! Here's the summary of my experience: In early April, I contacted a well-known moving company in NW IN about a small in-town move. The company was fully booked for more than one month and I needed a mover in two weeks. I found Executive Moving Services here on Yelp, but they were not yet rated when I found their ad. I called the number in the ad and spoke with Kyle by telephone. He told me he was available on the date I needed and he was very transparent about pricing, fees, and the small deposit I'd need to make to secure the date I needed. Moments after our call ended, he emailed a billing statement with information about the small deposit I'd need to make to secure the date. I was given multiple payment options for the deposit, including Apple Pay. After I paid the deposit, Kyle followed up with a text message to let me know the company received my deposit and to let me know he'd be in touch as we got closer to the move date. Two days before the move, I checked in with Kyle via text message to make sure we were still confirmed for the move. He replied right away to confirm that his crew would be there at the appointed date and time. On the morning of the move, Kyle called 30-45 minutes before our scheduled appointment with an ETA letting me know the crew expected to arrive 10 minutes early. The crew arrived as stated. Kyle also arrived to review the terms we'd agreed upon over the phone two weeks earlier. The crew moved quickly to load everything into the moving van. FYI: the items I needed moved were already packed and staged. I only hired this company for the **loading and unloading** part of the move, not to actually pack for me. Although Kyle and I had originally estimated when we first spoke that the total time to load and unload would take about 3 hours, it actually ended up taking 4 hours, which was very reasonable to me considering we were moving most (not all) of the contents from one house into another. I knew the pricing up front, so needing the extra hour was no surprise. The first reviewer mentioned the time it took for the crew to wrap items and I think it would help if the customer and the company discussed *in advance* what should be wrapped and what shouldn't be wrapped so there are no surprises. It would help both sides: the customer saves a bit of money since less time is spent wrapping and the crew doesn't have to waste resources wrapping items the customer doesn't need wrapped. The loading and unloading on the day of the move went quickly. The crew was very efficient. After everything was unloaded at the new house, Kyle and I discussed the move and the final cost. He is very professional and personable. Shortly after we spoke, I received the final invoice via email and was again given several payment options, including Apple Pay. I paid and received a receipt right away. Overall, I am VERY impressed with this relatively new company. I think I've reached the point in my Yelp history where l will only leave a review if a place blows me away or totally disappoints me. This place blew me away and I knew I needed to share my experience. Executive Moving Services is a professional, reliable, and affordable company. Thankfully, they were also available on kind of a short notice, which alone made this service seem like a bargain. Thank you Kyle and your crew for making this move so easy! However, when we had our belongings moved out of storage to our next home, trouble began. Items were missing, such as power cords to TVs and frame mounting hardware for our beds. I had to purchase these items. They did have someone come back and put the beds together. When unpacking we found numerous broken items. Some were glued back together such as a bed post and cabinet drawers to our dresser while others were just broken plates and bowls. They didn't do a good job packing our things and were not organized in keeping items together such as the cords and hardware with the furniture. The worse part was the customer service. I have called over 20+ times and sent emails but have not gotten one response. Once we paid for the services all communication ended. I was only looking to be reimbursed for the broken items that they packed and moved. To me, that would be the right thing to do. They should have contacted me to ask how the move went and if we had any issues. I shouldn't have to spend time out of my day to contact them. I understand things can happen during a move, but there is no excuse not to respond to follow up after a move. If you are looking for movers, I don't think you can trust Ferree Movers of Crown Point to do the right thing if something happens to your furniture, appliances, fixtures, etc. I wouldn't use them again in any capacity due to their unprofessional behavior and lack of customer service.

All four guys were very respectful of our property and man, did they haul ass-4 hours total and they charged much less than the actual quote.
