We needed to get out of our home In Chicago, Illinois pretty quickly and ultimately decided to use Stanford Van lines , Because, they were Available. the scheduling went really smoothly for the most part and the moving crew did a good job of accommodating our move despite little delay. the day of the move the crew arrived on time and very consistently moving quick while working. most items were packed well as we had expected but a few of the smaller household items did not get packed as well as hoped. Therefore, We spent some time Checking Boxex after they went onto the truck to able to ensure that everything went onto the truck. we would have liked some improved Communication Regarding when our Delivery was Scheduled because it did take longer than they initially anticipated for our delivery. While we do not lose or have any of our belongings damaged during the packing/ delivery process. overall, they did accomplish what they needed to in terms of fulfillment of service. Improvement could be made with consistency with pack of Boxex and communication in helping to maintain their Scheduled timing read more

This place is HORRIBLE!!! They didn't show up for the first pick up. Which the week delay cost me an eviction on my record because of delays leaving house. They were extremely late showing up a week later. Then they doubled the price after putting all my stuff I had already packed in the truck. That was in November.....it is now June and still have my things. And now a 2300 move is going to cost me 10,000. They stole my entire life. It has cost me EVERYTHING!!! DONT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY to provide a basic level of service. DO NOT TRUST THEM with your possessions. I had over 50 items damaged after paying $45,000 for what I believed included packing services. Many items were not packed at all - just thrown in boxes - and Stanford continues to refuse to take any accountability for the lack of service provided and have put the blame on me for not getting enough insurance coverage. They also left us with a box that was not ours and one year later still have not found the owner. read more

If I could give this company a negative star I would. This has been a move from hell, I understand that all companies have their bumps but this moving company has been the absolute worst thing. They lost our items in the move and told us to file a claim we filed that claim back in June and have yet to receive the check. To say that they are a decent moving company is such an understatement they are absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't use them every again. read more

Update: The company responded stating that my shipment had been delivered. At the time of their response, my belongings have not yet been delivered. My primary concern was never whether they were technically within a contractual delivery window; it was the lack of communication regarding the location and status of our shipment for weeks after pickup. Additionally, we provided our apartment address before booking, yet we were not informed until near delivery that we might need to pay an additional $1,455 shuttle fee or rent our own truck to complete the delivery. Our experience with Stanford Van Lines has been extremely frustrating. After our belongings were picked up, the estimated volume increased to 1,455 cubic feet and our total cost increased to approximately $6,700. While we ultimately agreed to the revised estimate, the overall process felt very different from what had been represented when we booked the move. The biggest issue has been communication and delivery delays. Based on the distance between Kentucky and Florida, we expected delivery within roughly 7-10 business days. Instead, we went more than three weeks without our belongings and received very limited information regarding where our shipment was located or when it would arrive. Because of the delay, we were forced to purchase replacement necessities including cookware, clothing, and household items. I also had to start a new job without access to many of my belongings. My husband and I have been sleeping on an air mattress for weeks, which has been especially difficult because I suffer from chronic back pain. To make matters worse, shortly before delivery we were informed that our apartment complex was not accessible by a semi-truck. We were given two options: pay an additional $1,455 shuttle fee or meet the truck at another location, rent our own U-Haul at our own expense, transfer our belongings ourselves, and then move everything into the apartment. We had informed the companies from the beginning that we were moving into an apartment complex. What was originally presented as a full-service moving experience has turned into a stressful and expensive ordeal involving unexpected costs, long delays, poor communication, and significant inconvenience. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Stanford Van Lines. read more

DO NOT hire them. they lie and I have not received my furniture in a week!!!! I have moved 13 times and these people are the worst! DO NOT use them. If I could give a -5 I would they do not know how to communicate and they do not respond to emails or calls. I am very disappointed.
