I hate to give a bad review, but I am now getting my stuff out of storage after they moved all my belongings. My metal cabinets that I use in my garage are all dinged up. Really is upsetting, because I take really good care of the belongings. They make you sign a waiver, and ask that you give a 100.00 tip per person. I tipped 150.00 per person and there was four of them moving me. I wish they would have treated my belongings much better. They want a good tip, but are careless. Not happy! I will be donating the really bad cabinets they ruined and buying new. As I said "I like by belongings nice!" Scratched up some furniture too! read more

Faced with a near surprise closing, with the busiest moving weekend of the year impending... I was shocked and elated that Skyline was able to provide me top notch service with not a hitch, glitch, or whoopsie moment in the move. Having a pickup in Richton Park, a stop over in Homewood, and then arriving at my new home.. I was afraid Skyline would "find some way" to finagle extra charges. While other movers tack on fuel costs, and love to douse a bill in extra charges... Skyline was upfront, and simple to follow. A (slightly high) hourly charge, with time being charged from when the truck leaves the garage until it returns... rounded to the nearest 1/4 hour. Simple enough. The gentlemen showed up exactly when they said they would this morning. They had me "give a tour" of what all was moving, and then, they took to the job without pause. The three man crew moved every last box we'd packed up, and even assisted me in carrying a few "high ticket" items to my car. They then followed me to our second stop, and continued to push on through. Once we got to my new home, the crew spared no time in getting everything off the truck. And in 5 hours of moving, did not scuff, scratch, ding, dent, or otherwise harm a single item. I'd recommend Skyline to any family looking for reliable, effective service. It's not going to be the cheapest mover in town, but you certainly get what you pay for: a hard working crew who knows not to slack off. Kudos. read more

I've used Skyline twice, once when moving from Seattle to Chicago and most recently from Austin to Chicago. Moving cross-country is extremely stressful, but Skyline has made it as easy as possible both times. They are up-front, communicative, and proactive. I would definitely use them again. read more

After having their representative come out to my home for an estimate, I thought this company would be perfect for my needs. Boy, was I wrong. I was quoted what appeared to be a fair price. They arrived on time and got right to work. But, I started to become a bit uncomfortable shortly thereafter. They were scraping two wheel carts on the laminate flooring and scuffing it up a bit. Then, they were taking cigarette breaks every hour or so, and, I was paying for it! They were taking these regular breaks ON THE CLOCK! Then, after loading all of my possessions, we drove to the new house. Then it got worse. Once at the new house, one of the movers fell down the basement stairs three times. Damaging the basement flooring and the items he was carrying. Then, as they attempted to bring in an over sized sofa, they damaged walls and the kitchen floor. They also knocked a light in the kitchen down and left it hanging there, rather than putting it back up. (Which was rather easy, but, why not put it back up if you knocked it down? All of my boxes were marked with the room they went in. However, boxes that went to the garage were in the basement. Basement boxes were in the garage. Etc. Not to mention the breakage found in various boxes. We are still finding broken items as we open boxes. At the end of the move, I was charged $200.00 more than the estimate. When I asked why, I was told the move took longer than anticipated. Maybe if they hadn't taken so many smoke breaks, they would have come in on time. I contacted the company after the move to discuss these things and their response was rather rude and I was told they could send someone out to look at the damage. No apologies. Nothing but excuses. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company. read more

Skyline Movers did outstanding job moving my furniture and personal possessions from Northwest Indiana to Tennessee. On 10/13 they showed up right on time and in about 7 hours did a masterful job of packing everything. They knew exactly what to do and how to do it. The following day, their truck once again showed up right on time, and again did a thorough and professional job of carefully loading everything. Two days later the truck showed up on time at our new Tennessee address and did yet another great job of offloading and setting up everything. Not only that, they issued a small refund check without even being asked, because their original estimate was high. Kudos to Skyline and United Van Lines. Great job. I highly recommend them if you need a professional mover. read more

Had 3 people to assist with recent move and 1 seriously couldn't keep up. I'm double their age and had to assist with move to complete in a timely matter given 2 were not in shape to be doing this job. Itemed were dropped during move, which luckily were not breakable. Boxes marked as fragile had heavy boxes stacked on them. Didn't follow Covid-19 guidelines during move as website stated would be followed with none of the movers wearing masks. Had used previously in 2020 without complaints, but have told multiple people to steer clear when they have inquired about movers to use. To top it off, they damaged all my furniture that I paid to put in their storage when paying top dollar to have it protected with reimbursement that won't even buy me a new chair for the table and chairs they damaged. They deny that the items were damaged in their care when this was the first time they were moved since purchased. Horrible customer service, horrible business that will not stand by their services or agreements. read more

Very unprofessional is all I can say! My husband called about a move and gave Eric the dates and he said they had them open that was on Monday but he wanted to come by and give us an estimate. So they scheduled appointment for Thursday at 4pm. But when Thursday comes Eric calls at 2pm to confirm his 3pm appointment so I told that's fine I will be here and asks me if what kind of move I'm doing,dates etc. Than about 10 minutes later he calls me and says that he was not able to move us anymore! Wow what a great guy and company! If you you couldn't move us why didn't you just tell us on Monday and why would you call to confirm an appointment?! Clearly they don't stand behind their word! I moved from Hazel Crest to Los Angeles. They never called to tell me what time they were coming so I just got up at 8 , they came at 8:30 but they are supposed to let you know what time they are coming. They did a good packing up the place however they did mess up the paint a bit but oh well. I later was upset with them becasue they sent my tv but not include the plug! who does that! They took the mirror off my dresser and did not tell me where the screws were! I later found at the bottom of my underwear drawer ( nasty!). They called me the next day to tell me they were thinking i would get my stuff about wednesday or thursday. I was upset because it did not come till Friday. not that big of a deal but tell me thursday or friday if thats what u are thinking! I could never get a hold of the driver when i tried calling him and they would not get a hold of him for me. just very displeased~ read more

We were making a move from one suburb to the other and Skyline was recommended to us by a friend of my mother-in-law. It turned out her recommendation was spot on. We had a great experience with Skyline. We thought we were going to close on our property in December so we set up an estimate and the gentleman who came out, Eric, was extremely professional and helpful in giving us an estimate. He gave us some tips as to how to be more efficient in the move and he said he over-estimated the cost so we wouldn't get hit with extra charges on the day of the move. We set up a time to make the move but it fell through at the last minute and they gave us no hassle about canceling. When things finally went through, we set up another time and they were very prompt about calling us back with the time they were showing up so we could be ready. The guys doing the moving were very polite, professional, and showed respect for our stuff, taking care to not damage anything and handled it as if they were moving their own house. The weather was rainy/snowy and overall pretty lousy, but they managed to limit the amount of water they got in both houses despite the conditions. They did a fantastic job! Also, we had to make an unexpected stop along the way to drop off/pick up some stuff at my in-laws, but despite the extra time not included in the original estimate they still came in well under budget. There were no add-ons at the end or the movers going into slow-down mode. The horror stories you hear about movers might be true in some cases, but not here. I would definitely recommend Skyline to a friend. read more

My elderly mother moved from Kankakee, Il. to South Pasadena Ca. We connected with United Van Lines which directed us to their local branch, Skyline. The entire move was smooth easy and stress free. We did most of the packing so Skyline's packers were finished in minutes. Doing what would have taken me hours. The driver was very personable, professional and kept his promises of providing en route information. They treated my mother very personally and with great respect. By the end of the initial moving day, she'd made new friends. The move-in in South Pasadena went off without a hitch. No damage, and again the driver and co. made my mother feel at ease.
