Nice location and clean office. Staff can be more friendly and cognizant of your wait time. Today I arrived at 2 and checked in, waiting 20 minutes and they didn't call me but decided to help a person that just walked up to the counter. I prefer the location at Old Oakland Road as I've experience a higher customer service on the times I've been there. read more

I was greeted when I entered...my first time there at that location. He asked what service I needed, took my name and I could see on an electronic board where I was in line. For a Saturday, the wait was not long. Paid for my registration, obtained my sticker and was out of there. No complaints...no additional kudos either... read more

I come here often for DMV transactions. Always fast & efficient. Only gripe I have is the parking sucks, even mid-day during the week.

It's a little run-down in comparison with the newer AAA office on Almaden Expressway and no one was staffing the reception desk but the personnel were overall more pleasant than those in the Almaden Expressway office. If you are set on having passport photos taken at a AAA office (in some circumstances, they will do them at no charge), this is a better location than the one on Almaden, mainly because the lighting where the photos are taken is vastly superior. There is a wonderful complimentary hot beverage maker (coffee, tea, hot chocolate) and a pleasant seating area, too. Many members are not aware of all the benefits that come with membership, so it's worth finding out about all those. Great free maps, for example, for all the places you may be traveling to! read more

would like to thank Theresa Rodriguez for the outstanding customer service & empathy she provided me with yesterday. She was 10 out if 10 stars. She also kept an eye open in your lobby. Theresa very efficiently took charge of a situation where many customers came in at once. She acknowledged & assured them they would be helped asap. She did this while never missing a beat helping me. Having been a manager/supervisor for 30 years I recognize good folks/employees immediately. Theresa needs to be commended for her professionalism & knowledge (job, DMV procedures & sweet personality). I'm a 75 year old & she had a-lot of patients with my mountain of unorganized paperwork. Bravo Theresa, Lynne Kettell read more

Horrible customer service experience! Avoid this location. The manger is rude, combative and does not know how to train his subordinates. Considering leaving AAA after 30 plus years. You will be wasting your valuable time at this location. Better to make the trip to the location on Brokaw. The manager is extremely incompetent. I would rather pass another kidney stone then to go back to that location. Caused me nothing but stress and anxiety. You actually do get better customer service at the DMV. Think about that. A bag of rocks could provide better customer service. read more

Wake Up The Dead..... ( This review only pertains to their insurance customer service by phone ) Pros: It didn't last too long Cons: A near death experience followed by a hyper puppy dog Suggestions: If you need customer service with your CSAA insurance, keep calling until you reach a normal person Stars: - Overall: 2 - Promptness of Pick-up ( call center ): 2 - Promptness of Pick-up ( Oakridge ): 5 - Quality of Information: 3 ( maybe a 1...maybe a 5 - who could tell ) - Ability to Communicate: 2 - Friendliness ( call center ): 2 - Friendliness ( Oakridge ): 4 - Value: 3 ( it's free ) - Aftertaste: 1 ( is this the best CSAA can do? ) My wife and I have insured our cars through the CSAA for many years. We know it's not the cheapest provider available, but they did a prompt and thorough job on the few occasions needed. The best part was making the process relatively painless. That counts for a lot. However, this mini review is not about past experiences. Since our coverage was recently up for renewal, I received a document in the mail outlining the features and costs. Such "advance notice" is a nice touch and gives me the chance to call them with questions before payment is due. So that's what I did. First call was made to the toll-free number which directs you to a central office. After going through a phone-tree of automated questions, I reached a guy who sounded as if he was at the end of a 24 hour shift. Tired is not the word. More like comatose. I had to help HIM with the answers! He did provide some information, but the "conversation" was heartbreaking. He either needs a better alarm clock or a slap in the face on the hour. Maybe a job as a zombie! Since I wasn't sure whether the information I got was true.....and not all questions were answered.....I called the local representative listed on the letter I received. This guy was at the other extreme. While I pictured the first person propped up against a bar after a bunch of stiff drinks saying "Mac, pour me one more", the second spoke so fast he swallowed half of his answers. Words were flying like bullets! I think I got some new information, but who can be sure? He was friendly, but reminded me of a kid with his first job just out of college who tried too hard. To him I'd say "breathe and slow down". So there you have it. One guy in the call center who needed a major supply of No-Doze and another guy in the CSAA office behind the Oakridge shopping center who overdosed on No-Doze. It was a whiplash of styles! With all the experienced, knowledgeable, skilled and talented people either underemployed or looking for a job, are these the 2 best communicators CSAA could find for critical positions in customer service? read more

I didn't know I had spoken to someone from this location when I called an 800 number. I don't like to pay anything over the phone or online, I like going into a business to pay in person. So when I got here one morning, they tracked down my phone price quote, so I was transferred back to a phone person. I was of course sitting at his desk and did everything in person, I was able to get full coverage at a cheaper price than I thought I'd get. I signed up for my full coverage insurance, the AAA roadside plus and of course the lovely trip downstairs to their DMV. Oh mah gawd... the quickest I've ever gotten my vehicle registration done ever. Like I said, I don't like online payments, the wait at the DMV on Alma would've drained me energy wise. Receptionist for both upstairs and downstairs, it was easy to ask any questions and got the answered so quickly. read more

Spouse went in this office to get a new policy. The lady with the initials HP, who helped him was very rude and making personal comments to him. Last year I had previously had a separate insurance policy with triple aaa, and because tickets on my husband's record caused our insurance to go up. He got that cleared up and wanted to add me back on a new policy with him at a different company. So I canceled triple AAA at my spouse request to go to another big insurance agency and have a joint policy. He had roadside service with that new policy and I kept my own roadside service that I had for many years with triple AAA for myself. When I had triple aaa I had purchased the road side service for me and my two daughters because I want to be sure that they and the babies are kept safe in case of an emergency. Apparently this lady made some comments to my spouse asking why I never added him to my membership and pay for his road side service, but I add everyone else! She made so many rude comments to my spouse about me and he came home asking why I never paid for him to get a membership and why I didn't care for his safety too. Then she told my spouse I owed triple AAA a lot of money. Like $30, from my old policy which was already paid off last year. He said that this agent was very rude and not professional at all. She was getting all up in his personal business. Actually, because of this agent and her trying to stir up trouble with her rudeness and intrusive comments, my spouse said that this agent told her everything that I did. Not sure what that meant. I'm going to be canceling my policy soon and we will be getting insurance elsewhere. Please get this lady some training in etiquette and Customer service. Do your job and quit trying to stir up trouble. It's none of your business why I pay to have roadside service for my two daughters. read more

I've been to this AAA location a couple of times. I'm not going to talk about AAA's service as a company but just this branch location of AAA. I thought it was pretty good for obtaining maps and tour books for different states. If you come when they're closed, then you can use the map vending machines outside the main door. All you do is swipe your AAA membership card and pick a map you need. Remember to push the clear button (I think that's what it is) after you're done; otherwise, anybody else can grab maps using your AAA card membership. Good stuff! Out of the couple times I've been here, the staff were helpful with my needs to get some maps. read more

Not sure why this place has only 3 stars. I came in to do some needed paperwork and Brenda was just fantastic. Not only did she save me a bunch of time, she made me feel valued as a AAA member. The office wasn't crowded, but everyone in there was busy helping a customer. I highly recommend becoming a member and taking advantage of the great perks of being a AAA member. I've been a premier member for about 10 years. read more

5 stars for Lynn. I hope i spelt her name correctly . Came in today dreading my vehicle registration renewal because I was late by a few months, I was also in a rush with 3 kids. Thanks for helping us out Lynn, we are new to the area & will definitely be making this our home branch. read more

Clean office, friendly and helpful services. I would definitely visit this branch again. Keep up the amazing amazing smile!

AAA has been nothing but a wonderful experience for me. For our housing and car insurance, Lyndon Harris, has been a great AAA agent for us. Whenever we have to add or remove, he's always responding and answering questions very quickly. I've also had to call AAA for towing as my car's battery had failed. I was given a time estimate of 10 minutes and the tow truck came on time. He was professional, friendly, and efficient. I also love the AAA membership magazines, they give me great ideas for places to go and explore! read more

Went to register my car and the guy that does the dmv paper work wrote down the wrong miles and now i have to take it to the dmv to get it checked and verified and wait over 3 months for the title. Very helpful. Detailed instructions on my registration problem was reviewed by 2 people to make sure I wasn't wasting my time going to DMV. Love that it's close to home. Parking is a little Challenging as they're doing construction and the only parking avail is BofA which is a no no according to the security guard. Otherwise they are perfectly located and friendly helpful staff. read more

Great staff with positive attitude and very helpful . I would definitely recommend this AAA to friends and family

AAA isn't what it used to be as helpful. My 94-year-old dad with a neck and back problem can't bend over. He call them because his Mazda pickup truck had a slow leak due to a nail in the tire the tire was not all the way flat but you could visibly see the nail in the tire and that it was losing air pressure. The AAA service showed up at my dads house and refused to change his tire stating that the tire was not actually flat and that he could change it himself or drive to a repair shop. My dad is also a care taker for his 94 year old wife with dementia but he's too proud to tell these details to the AAA service that showed up. read more

My experience here was very fast, professional and informative. I will return if I'm in the San Jose area again and need assistance.

I purchased my auto, homeowner & other insurance from this location. Even though I can pay my annual bills online or via AAA's 800 phone #, I live close by, so I do not mind to pay in person. Manager Ray is always friendly, goes out of his way to talk & know his customers. And, amazingly, he always remembers my name, goes above & beyond to help my needs. And today I had a special need & Ray delivered! Once again, thank you Ray & your staff. It is people like you & your staff that I keep my insurance needs with AAA. read more

I have used this AAA office on a few occasions for DMV services with no issue. To my misfortune, my branch agent Hosanna lacks customer service skills and does not express herself in a professional manner. When asking for specifics on my policy, she states one thing while the references she attaches says something else. On questioning to show the requirement and digging deeper, she gets frustrated, gives attitude and defers me to a supervisor (which I'm still waiting on). If you cannot articulate the requirements clearly, you shouldn't be in the insurance business! I don't know if she's an intern (emails written without punctuation, poor grammar, etc.), but she could use a little more training on all grounds! I have closed my AAA account for my Auto and Home insurance for this reason and moved on with another provider. read more

I do not recommend this service or this place (branch) if you plan to go here. First, the agent whom I will not gaslight that has a "platinum and gold plaque decorated" was not friendly at all. Second, false advertisement. There is no such thing as a student discount, discount, etc. I was going to be a first time member here but oh boy the quote they gave me is outrageous. It was the same price as Allstate and progressive. In other words, it was a major rip off to pay $215 per month. Furthermore, my friend recommended me to this so called "AAA" but damn, my friend was wrong about this auto insurance. Thus, the environment was not friendly at all and it seems like they were miserable working there and try to get out asap instead of helping their customers. Especially, the "new" customer. read more

I HATE AAA!!!!!! They left me waiting for them for 7 hours !!!!!!! They "kept sending help" but every time the driver was supposed to be at my location, they weren't!!! I literally was on the phone all day , being hung up on or being left on hold for almost an hour each time or the call would "just drop " after they were "supposed to" get in contact with the driver!!! Each time they promised I wasn't going to have another problem HAHA !!! They made me wait 7 fucking hours . One of their agents told me it wasn't smart of me to be on the phone while my phone was dying , like wtfff how else am I supposed to ask for help, when you people obviously refused to help !!!!!! Ughhhhh THEEEEEEEEE WORST SERVICE OF MY LIFE . I still don't know what happened. They kept promising me that I was at the top of their list . Everyone they'd hang up on me I had to recall , trying to connect with a REAL person , the agent telling me the driver is close, then telling me they contacted them .... FULL OF SHIT. We were stuck in a HOT day about 90 , no shade or water . That is so damn ridiculous. Oh did I forget to mention? I'm a gold member !!!! Imagine how much less they care about their cheaper membership. Seriously flabbergasted !!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I'm so glad my 2 year old daughter wasn't with me at the time !!! read more

The lady at the payment counter was very rude and disrespectful . Plus unprofessional. Her name is Susan. I asked her if the system was running well or not -- because 2 days ago all systems were down. She frowned at me and said, " I don't know, I just came back after 2 months." Then I told her that I would like to make a payment and asked her to make sure there are 2 cars in my policy, because last time AAA messed up my account. She was so furious at me. In addition, she raised her voice to tell me my cars were all covered. The way she looked at me was very rude. I came here to pay my cars' insurance not to ask her for attitude. AAA please hire someone who has experience with professional customer service otherwise they will lose their customers. Thank you. read more

Another bad, recent customer service experience. Sigh. Today I just wanted to pick up a form that I believed was required by the DMV as part of selling my car. Turned out, it is not. I was lectured about that from Mary who apparently has decided she is the customer and I am the annoyance that needs a large dose of condescension into order to be properly put in my place. Pros: The building hasn't moved in a while. DMV forms are available. Wait time was short. Cons: Employees at the DMV are more pleasant. AAA is a paid service and while towing might be worth it, the "service center" isn't. My suggestion is to look for any other competing service (like through your insurance company) or just take your chances at the DMV. That is what I'll be doing after 15 years of membership. read more

So I pay for AAA so that some guy who barely speaks English can come and tell me, "hey if you had key we could open car." (I locked my keys in my car, that's my dumb ass fault) No fucking shit. So then he goes on to say my car is hard to open because it has no energy. I respond I'll feed it a nutrigrain bar when you unlock it. He goes on to say "it hard to open your car without damaging it. If you want me open still." I ask if he is just going to use a brick. So him and his dispatchers suggest getting me a lock smith that I have to pay for. And then they say "it'd be easier to get in the car if you had a key." Fuck you AAA. read more

AAA is worth it just for the DMV services. Typically the only time I visit a AAA office will be for a DMV-related task. On this occasion it was to renew my tags and I was in/out in probably less than 30 mins. There was a small line but it nothing when compared to the hours that it would of taken at the DMV office. THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS NOW! Previously they only accept cash/check for DMV services but they now take credit/debit. Nice to see this when I came in. Gotta be grateful for the small wins. =) read more

The roadside assistance call in number is very problematic. I have had multiple problems with the insurance agent office and with how roadside assistance calls have been handled by AAA agents. I've complained and they seem to just want to make excuses for what they problems and inconveniences they cause their customers, instead of do what is necessary to make sure that this pattern of bad customer service doesn't continue! AAA has lost the confidence from it's customers and now we are looking elsewhere to see who can provide the best options for quality and guarantee of services. I hope AAA will stop making excuses for their lack of good customer service. read more
