I've recently had a really disappointing experience with this location. My packages were being forwarded here by USPS since I had a change of address, but unfortunately, they didn't include my PO Box number (i've received packages forwarded from this vendor previously without an issue.) Instead of checking or asking, the staff just returned them without even reaching out -- including some pre-orders that I now can't reorder. What's frustrating is that this has never been an issue before. The usual staff have always been great, attentive, and helpful. But lately, since the older lady started handling things, it's been a different experience -- less communication and more issues with returned packages. I'd just recommend keeping an eye on this if you're expecting packages here. A simple confirmation or courtesy call could save a lot of trouble for customers. read more

Postal Annex near Aborn was one of the only shops open to have to complete the arduous and hopeless outdated task of sending a fax to Kaiser Permanente. It was a blessing on this New Year's Eve to help me send something after so many other stores were shut, including a UPS store, where about 20 people came up in a span of 30 minutes, looking to post items or conduct other kinds of business. Helpful staff, but what a ripoff. Go here if you have no other choice, but expect to pay double what USPS charges to ship via Postal Annex by USPS. I prepared a rush package for the UK (their charge, $183) here in a Saturday afternoon after USPS offices were closed and was told it would not depart until Monday. Learned that USPS at Eastridge Mall was open until 7:00 pm so took it there, and was told the package would only cost $93 there. Live and learn. Live and learn. read more

Such a convenient place to bring all my USPS and FedEx packages! The staff here move quickly and efficiently, always give me a receipt and most importantly they are always very friendly! I've sent return packages, new packages (some that already had a label and others that needed a label created), bought stamps and mailed certified mail. Anytime a label is created for me, they double check addresses and confirm everything is correct. I never leave worried about my packages, which is more than I can say about other places. *Covid Related Material -- there is usually a max of two customers inside and the rest wait outside for their turn. Pretty sure this place lost or threw away my package. This was my first and LAST time using this place as a USPS drop off location. I dropped it off and handed my package off to an employee. I watched him move it to a corner table in the store. I kept an eye on the tracking number and it didn't move for weeks. Now I'm out $250 dollars because they don't know what happened. I should've dropped it off at a REAL USPS location or the Walgreens location. Their employees don't really care about customers. BTW they charge extra if your item is not "fully packaged" like if you don't have the right amount of tape. Don't come here. They lost my package on the first visit. Go to a real post office not this one where they charge more than a regular USPS/Fedex would. read more

For me, this place serves it's purpose. If I have to ship something via FeEx, or UPS, this is where I go. It is somewhat hidden, so you very rarely see a line or a crowd of people. This works pefectly for me, as I am not too fond of waiting in a line just to drop off a package. Each of the employees I've interacted with are very friendly and knowledgeable. It doesn't look like they stock too many items other than your shipping necessities. But that's really all you need right? Again, back to my statement, this place serves it's purpose! Side note: The restaurant next this place makes good Sweedish Pancakes that are pinkish red. How does this relate? IT DOESN'T! I have lived in San Jose for 12 years. The UPS store is closer to our home of directly to the USPS. One day, I received a letter from PostalAnnex about stopping down for a free gift. I did it and they gave me a tape measure, which was nice, but I also noticed the professional manner in which the PostalAnnex staff treated their customers, so I moved my business to PostalAnnex. I have been going there often over the last few years to deal with not only domestic shipping but also international shipping as well and office material needed and so on. The staff here are friendly, and the service is very good. The only reason for a poor rating of "Could've been better" is because of the money grabbing, price gouging fees. I was going to this place for about 6 months before I eventually realized I was being "taxed" for everything I did there. I'm suprised they didnt charge me a fee for using their pen. I kid you not. This place charges you to drop off normal UPS, FEDX , and 1st class mail letters and packages. Yes, there is a fee to use and drop off packages when you ship from their store! I've never heard of that before. I haven't been there in a while, so I dont know in fairness if they still do that or not. Here's the catcher! If you need a little tape on your package, which of course they always say you need to re inforce it, they literally charge you for tape by the strip! I went in to send a package out that had paid postage already, and some how I walked out of there being charged $3 bucks!! I guess I couldn't just tape the address to the box, I needed a packing slip sticker to insert it. I mean it just seemed to me I was getting nickeled and dimed to death. Oh yeah, and I had no cash, so I had to use my atm, they charged me $1.00 for using my card to pay the $3 bucks! It is hands down, the most expensive place for shipping in San Jose. The Positive side: However, the staff was always professional and nice to me. They do have an amazing staff there, so that has to count for something. If I could rate them lower I would. One the cost was extraordinarily high almost a thousand dollars for 6 boxes. 5 boxes made it one has been lost for over a month they have no clue what happened. Also I did all the packing my boxes were new and wow they showed up like someone had kicked them and threw the absolutely no care whatsoever if you can fine some alternate way to ship your things. read more

It's close, that's what counts. Want to know why people hate sending letters, because it takes so long. There were only 3 other customers in line here and it took 20 minutes for me to get to the counter. On the flip side of that the guy working here was super polite and attentive to my needs.
