The ladies I spoke to on the phone were nice and reassuring for my call in for a tow in AZ on September 19, 2024. I was assured that help was on the way, especially in light of my mom's oxygen running out. But over 4 hours into the ordeal, still no tow truck, even though they told me two or three times, that it would be less than an hour. Went to get my passport photos taken here. It was such an easy process! Went on a Tuesday around 4pm hoping it wouldn't be too busy, which it wasn't, I didn't even have to wait in line and there were multiple parking spaces available out front. Showed the team member my policy card, paid the members rate, then she took my photo which was ready in less than 5 mins. It took me no longer than 10 minutes for the whole process. My husband and I drove over to apply for their international permit but they were out. We were told they had an unusual amount of requests for them, (I've been reading about how everyone is traveling again and airports and flights are packed). While we waited for the gentlemen to find some travel books for us, another woman got up from her desk and came out to see if she could help us. She was extremely helpful and apologized for not having enough permits, but we paid to have our passport photos done and she wanted to be sure we had everything we needed to process the forms by mail. all we wanted was day pass to disneyland n turns out there was no discount. nothing but a big cluster f***. we went into a location to buy the tickets. unfortunately, waste of our time! they only sale 2 day passes. we call cs & bought 1day pass for 8 people. unfortunately, there wasn't any discount we were not told about any hidden fees & gave us 8 $25 gift card to use in la. unfortunately, which, we could not even find one restaurant to validate them! so, extra money to spend on food, which was not planned into our budget. which, set us back too. our family vacay was stressed bc we used aaa but still made the most of it. but never again will i use them to try to $$$. basically, do research begore making any purchases, ask questions on all pricing. oh but i still have those $25 gift card only to use in cali. lol read more

Was not happy when Camelback AAA broke my fuel tank after repairing my fuel pump. Following this, my car was held at this location through Thanksgiving without being offered a rental car. I was then told by multiple people via phone that I was going to receive a full refund. When I got into contact with the Camelback location, they said that they will not provide me with a refund. Highly disappointed in how AAA conducts their business. I receive poor customer service throughout this unfortunate endeavor. Follow up: They are just wasting my time online as well. My dad is a mechanic out of state and got my car fixed for under $300 and they tried to tell me it would be close to $2,000!! My car was towed to the AAA Repair center on 7422 W. Thunderbird Rd. It needed a new rim and 4 new tires, however weeks went by with no contact from them. (According to our insurance agent, the people at the AAA location disagreed with the cost estimate details) I called often but no one would answer, I left messages that were never returned until the voicemail was full. Finally, saturday the 29th my husband had a day off work and took me down there in person ask for an update on my car. We spoke to Service Advisor Steve Rode. He told us my car had been gone for a week. I asked why I hadn't been informed and he got defensive and said that they were understaffed, but he assured me that someone from my insurance company came and told him they were taking my car to another shop for repairs. He would not say where my car was taken to, nor did he have any documentation (such as a transfer or tow slip) to verify the legal transfer of my car. However he did insist upon his generous nature by saying he had waived all storage fees. Suspicious, but I thought there was nothing more to ask him if my car was not there, so we left and called my insurance to ask where they had towed my car without my permission; they had no idea. They never requested my car be moved, in fact they had authorized AAA to go ahead and start the repairs at that location. Naturally, our next assumption was that perhaps since repairs were taking so long to get started, someone higher up decided my car was abandoned and ordered it to be towed off the lot. So we called AAA customer service line to find out if this was the case... They had no clue what we were talking about, they had no record of my car ever leaving the Thunderbird location. We called the Peoria Police Department. The officer arrived at the AAA Repair location after hours, but did a walk of the lot and found my car in the back. Steve Rode lied to our face that my car had been towed away a week ago. Finally, today, we contacted our insurance agent, told him the situation, and arranged to have my car towed from that location to a different repair shop NOT affiliated with AAA. When the tow truck arrived at the Thunderbird location, he was told that my husband and I already came and took my car home.... Despite the fact that the tow driver could clearly see my car on their lot. Twice, the employees at this AAA location have outright lied about the location of my car. I can't think of any reasons for them to do so other than for criminal purposes. read more

As a resident of Arizona, there are a few things you should never mess with--rattlesnakes, gila monsters, and a possibly overheating car engine. My car needed to be serviced due to a leaky coolant and, as a AAA member, I had my car towed to this location. Let me start by complimenting Tim S. who towed my car to this AAA car repair location. He was prompt and extremely friendly. Seriously great guy. After arriving at the AAA car repair location, I was treated with respect and courtesy. They even offered to arrange a rental car for me which I declined, but was grateful for the offer. Tim H. took care of me and he was thorough and assuring. I had visions of this repair costing thousands of dollars, but he made me feel confident that the technicians would do the right thing. Soon after the location opened the day after I dropped off my car, I received a call from Tim H. to tell me what was wrong with my car and what they needed to do to fix it. It was very professional and to the point. I highly recommend joining AAA and if you ever need car repairs, the Thunderbird location is top notch! Thank you everyone! read more

I have a AAA battery in my car with 3-year free replacement. It's only a year old and it died completely. I took the battery into the AAA office on Thunderbird Rd. The ahole there told me that if I take it out of the car the warranty on it is void. It does NOT say that on the battery. So, I paid $150 for a POS battery with a fake warranty. Warning to future customers to NOT waste your money on a battery there. They refuse to honor the warranty. False advertising on the battery. read more

I am shocked to see that this location has so many stars after the horrible experience we had. My husband and I had our vehicle towed here and the service guys ran a diagnostic test. They informed us that it would be almost $2100 to repair our vehicle that was over heating. Realizing it was a scam and overcharge, we towed it to our mechanic out in queen creek. Well worth it because it was only paid $123 to have it repaired with our trusted mechanic. On top of this, one service guy at this location tried to charge us $60 dollars for the diagnostic test, but luckily the other guy (Tim) said no it's only $49.99. The whole experience was wrong from the get go! I can't imagine the advantage they'd take if you were a alone, a woman, or an older, vulnerable person who won't speak up! Beware! I hope nobody gets taken advantage of in this establishment. read more

Wow. This has been a bad year of experiences with Triple A. I called a tow back in May when I got a flat. After waiting for 4 hours in the AZ heat, I finally called to check in to see if I could receive an update. The lady that answered the phone told me that the earliest tow wouldn't be able to get to me til the next morning! At this point every other tow company in the area had already closed. Four hours to tell me that they can't help me til tomorrow?! Not to mention, I HAD TO CALL THEM and I was on a dirt road off camp Verde. The second instance was yesterday. I needed a tow in the Phoenix area. They told me it would be a 2 hour wait so I got a ride back to my home (only 10 minutes away). A little over two hours later, I got the text that the AAA driver was on the way (mind you they said the arrival was only 4 minutes away). I called the driver and told him I would be 10-15 minutes because traffic was bad. He proceeded to tell me that he wouldn't be able to wait for me that long. That driver left and I had to resubmit a claim at 8PM (the next driver was able to get to my car at 4AM). Luckily, this driver told me he would wait for me to come to my car. Kind of ridiculous that the first driver couldn't wait ten minutes when I had to wait for 2 hours. What did they expect? Me to sit outside in the 115 degree weather in hopes that they wouldn't take to long? Very bad experiences. I don't know what needs to change, maybe more drivers? Either way, it makes me not want to renew my membership. read more

I am a handicapped, disabled father of one. I have had numerous problems with AAA's communication. For whatever reason, I've had difficulty for years, causing me to cancel my auto and life insurance at one time. Today took the cake. I spoke to a 'Manager' by the name of Tom Tom Giedt via the call center. Who repeatedly lied to me then when confronted about it, resorted to insulting me. He refused to provide the name of anyone above him to avoid any responsibility. It was the most embarrassing conversation I've ever had with any insurance company. My mistake was giving them a second chance. If you run into problems with them, it is just a matter of time before those problems repeat themselves. If they will go so far as to mistreat the handicapped, who won't they mistreat? I'm sure their original mistake was not done purposely, but customer service is supposed to do everything they can to retain the customer rather than insult them out the door. Insurance through them is akin to asking for trouble, save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

TO SUM THINGS UP, TAKING MY CAR HERE WAS A TERRIBLE CHOICE. My clutch pedal went out and I decided to take it to this AAA location since its down the street. Something told me I should of taken the car to the dealer. Now my clutch pedal works and it seems fine. BUT! Now when I turn my car off it start shaking because a piece of my cooling fan magically broke (according to them). My car never had this problem until I picked it up from this place. Drove it home and I wasn't even able to drive it to work because I had no clue what was going on. Took it back to them and told them I never had this problem. Someone inspecting the car must of broke the piece off. It's not a piece that would break just because. I was told they wouldn't have been able to do that since "no one looked under the hood and everything was done from down under." Yet every shop and even the dealership I called told me that a job like that requires doing some type of work done through the top especially if the clutch had to be drained or to get a diagnostic check. Not to mention the TIME AND SETTINGS WHERE ALL WRONG AND MY FOG LIGHTS WONT EVEN TURN ON. They where now charging me over 600.00 to fix that after I trusted them to fix the main problem in the first place, and won't take the responsibility that this was something they did. Never had such a bad experience like this before. My car went from bad to worst. What could of cost me 800 bucks to fix will now add up to over 1400 with the other thing they messed up that now has to come out of my pocket. The car shakes so badly that it's not something I wouldn't have noticed before. Defiantly take your vehicle to a dealer or someone that specializes in your type of car. If you have a GERMAN CAR THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO ( or any car in general in this case, since it can cost you more than expected with their carelessness and lack of respect and loyalty) read more

I do not understand who they call when it's over 100 degrees in Phoenix, but I am canceling. I wanted to upgrade my policy for towing 100 miles they told me oh for an upgrade you can't use it for 4 days, but they wanted my money today tho. I was traveling that day, the reason for my upgrade. I was very frustrated this morning when my car (extremely reliable 2008 Hyundai Sonata) wouldn't start. I had parked it for an hour and gone back to run some errands. Problem was the ignition key would absolutely not turn. Never had this issue even before. I desperately called dealerships and a regular mechanic of mine and heard a repeat of 'it's possibly the ignition cylinder needs replaced' and on and on. Either they weren't up front with me or not thinking clearly like me. The little voice told me to call good ole AAA. So, I called my neighborhood AAA store on 75th Ave/T'bird. The guy I talked to was Steve Rode. He was very patient and walked me through what I ought to do. Inserting the key as I'd done a few minutes before and following his instructions didn't help. So, Steve asked me if I had a spare key and 'bingo'! My baby started right up. Looking at the key I've used for 10 years and the spare key (unused/new) showed a discernible difference on the edges (understandably). The original key was a bit rounded off in comparison, so it all made lucid sense to me. Now, I could tell from his voice that he was genuinely elated as well. Point is and will always be, to take a time out and go the easy way first. It's not the ignition itself but the key that interacts with it on a regular basis. One of the two weren't working correctly or at all. Why not try the easy way first (baby steps) as the nice guy Steve had suggested. Wow! A junior moment/Eureka! I want to wish him the very best especially since he made my day. I now want to bestow upon him 5stars (the industry standard for excellence) as well as the Sun & the Moon. He is one of those conscientious and special people that are an absolute asset to this already wonderful organization. Thank you guys so much! Cheers! read more

We've needed AAA service 3 times in the past year and each time they were very professional, fast, and efficient. The service person arrived quickly and didn't leave a mess. On one occasion the flat tire was placed in a plastic bag and put in the back of our van to be replaced. No mess, nice and clean. Highly recommend! read more

It is a pet peeve of mine when I look up a location, info shows they are open, then when you call or go there, they are in fact closed This Thunderbird aaa location shows hours on SATURDAY 9-3, yet you call, listen to several outgoing messages, only to be told "we are closed today". Passport photo couldn't have been easier -- and free, to boot!

We had our Nissan Pathfinder towed into AAA due to a power steering pump fail. They determined that, additionally, the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. After replacing the parts with approved after-market parts, they road tested and the power steering failed. They continued replacing the power steering pump trying other approved after-market vendors. All of which failed. To try to locate the problem, they also replaced other power steering components and another new rack and pinion. They ended up special ordering a Nissan factory power steering pump from Tennessee. Problem solved. AAA kept us up to date all along the way; and we feel they went above what was expected to resolve the issue with no additional cost to us from the original estimate. What has happened? This is NOT the AAA I used to know. It's looks like a ghost town when you enter. All the fun travel retail items have disappeared. While the gal at the front desk was nice enough, the jeans and hoodie were an interesting choice of dress for the day. Then came the moment when she told me I had to pay for my passport photos...something that's been included in my membership for many years. Do not go here. I had my car towed here because a friend had AAA. They did a diagnosis and quoted me just over $700 dollars for the bare minimum of what needed to be done (fuel pump and fuel filter change). AND that was with a 15% labor discount. I said no way, I will have my car towed to another place that quoted me $350 for the same things. They refused to let me pay the diagnosis fee(non-refundable if you get the car serviced there) any way other than in person. I work 30 miles away from my house(by where the car was towed) and they are only open 7-5:30. That's a two hour commute by bike that I had to do for TWO days instead of one because they held my car ransom. read more

Just went there for an International Drivers License. Called 3 times before I showed up trying to find out what all I needed to bring. They never answered. Other than that, everything was great. It was cheap, easy, and fast. I went around 1:00 on a Thursday and it only took me 9 minutes from when I walked in the door to when I walked out with the license. read more
