There was moss and soot accumulating on the outside and I was worried about decay of the mortar. He and his partner arrived on time and pressured washed the chimney and it made a huge difference in appearance. Jason did a great job explaining how to care for chimney and things to watch out for. He also educated me on the masonry services that Chimcare offers which I will likely due in the future as there is deterioration of the mortar in several spots around my home.

They will extort you, send you an estimate for one amount but then find…read moreother issues while installing the over priced part you agreed to, because you were left for a week without heat (after having already been out to inspect the heater once before) and the cost will double. My mother-in-law called them because her heater was making a loud noise. They came and shut off her heat and told her they'd be back in 2 days. Then at that time she got a text message telling her to shut something off, or push a button. She did and then they were under staffed and couldn't come out. After 6 days of my 80 year old mother-in-law living in a house without heat (her house was sub 50 degrees) they sent her an invoice for $360 because she apparently needed a pump and they said her heater would not turn back on without it (even though it worked prior to them turning it off). She was freezing so she just said as long as it was today. They were at her house within an hour (ironic since they were SOOO busy the first 6 days...). Then, the estimate DOUBLED while the tech was at her house as he said he found a gas leak (the house did begin to smell like gas AFTER the first tech turned off the heat). (I should say the 2nd tech was EXTREMELY understanding and helpful. He also confirmed that the gas leak was NOT reported by the 1st tech and the 1st tech was a new guy.) My mother-in-law agreed to it but called us. While we were on the phone with her the tech said that to fix all the problems he found this time (again someone had already been out there to inspect before) it would be $1500!!!!!!!!!!!! My mother-in-law started crying because she couldn't afford it but she couldn't handle being cold any longer. I called the company, the receptionist told me she wasn't able to make any decisions and would have her manager call me back. Then my husband went to talk to the technician at my MIL's house and he told us that she was delayed due to their high volume of customer's with larger (dollar amount) problems. I called the company back and asked to speak to the owner/manager. The receptionist denied my request and told me she never told me she wasn't authorized and that they have all their calls recorded. She told me they had record of calling my MIL every day to schedule the service but we have phone logs showing my MIL called them every day. She told me we were going to sign a waiver to release them from liability of the gas leak. When I said we wouldn't sign it, so she said she was pulling the techs from the job and hung up on me. When I called back, she again told me they were leaving the job (my husband who was with the technicians confirmed that they had tried to recall the techs from the job and my son had been recording EVERYTHING from their interactions with the techs) and refused to get me in touch with the manager or owner. I said I have read numerous reviews who said the owner was a man of integrity and I had seen negative reviews retracted after speaking with him. She again told me she was pulling the techs and tried to hang up on me. I told her I didn't want that and maybe if I could speak to someone who was authorized to discuss these matters with me (and not lie to me about what was or was not said on recorded phone calls as I am 100% SURE they will justify MY side of the story and not hers) maybe we would sign it but not without discussing these very unethical practices with someone who did have authority, and the person who would actually be impacted by our response to this distress (not someone being a complete brat and who didn't comprehend the severity of the situation). I was put on hold for about 15 minutes but then told she would call me back. I haven't heard anything from the company since. I believe this occurred intentionally to extort my mother-in-law. I also think the initial tech was responsible for the gas leak (whether intentionally or accidentally I can't say). Because they were not clear about what was needed, and they kept delaying her, she didn't have time to get a 2nd opinion or compare prices. We will be taking this up with the BBB (https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint) and the Attorney General as the Department of Justice has a form specifically for Elder Abuse and Elder Financial Exploitation Statutes (https://www.justice.gov/elderjustice/prosecutors/statutes). This is completely immoral, unethical and NOT an action of integrity. I will also be getting someone out to my MIL's to take a look at the gas leak and give us their opinion on how the gas leak came to be.

From when we first called PermaDry regarding french drains in the yard and an improved sump system…read morein 2015, to a major basement flood mitigation project in 2020, and through our last issue-free annual maintenance appointment in 2023, we've always thought that these were the folks to call. We've recommended them to countless friends and relatives over the years whenever homeowners in Seattle inevitably need help dealing with drainage issues. We've sung their praises to people on forums seeking help finding the best company to help them deal with drainage and repair jobs. Never again. Even if we set aside the fact that our last annual service appointment took almost 9 months (with four reschedules and three no-shows) to actually happen, this company is no longer even able to bill correctly for work that has been completed. We've now gotten three invoices in a row that are not only the incorrect amount, but they're for a bill that we paid in full back in February. They're not even system glitches for an old bill in the system: someone literally created a brand new invoice for the wrong amount and for services that we've already paid for, and they did it after we paid in full. No one ever answers the phone. No one calls back. We just keep getting texts with this wrong invoice over and over. The last response we had about this was in an email on April 1st, and all it said was that Ryan (the owner) had recently fired the back-end staff person who'd screwed up all the scheduling for 2024 and that he'd asked another person to handle the invoices. No apology, no attempt to resolve, and (most importantly) no follow up since then from anyone at PermaDry to actually fix the incorrect invoice that we keep receiving. We've stuck with the absolutely terrible customer service for over a year now because we didn't want to invalidate the warranty we have for the work they've done for us, and we've tried to have patience since they've done great work in the past. At this point, though, it's probably going to be better in the long run for us to just let that go and move on to picking someone else for future household needs. Do yourself a favor and choose another company.

This company is great and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Everyone in the Office is really friendly, accommodating and quick to satisfy any need I have. Prices are great for annual inspection work and for replacement/provision of new equipment. They NEVER push you into spending more money than you need to or SELL you anything. Although I have amazing things to say about everyone that works here, my favorite employee at Fire King is now Evan (Robert), their service technician. Evan is an amazing representative for their company. He came out to our yard this am to perform an annual inspection of our 20 or so extinguishers. He arrived ten minutes early and with the personality and attitude of someone who really likes his work with Fire King. I found Evan to be well-spoken, polite, super-thorough and organized. What I really admired was his dedication to his work,his ability to stay on task and his knowledge with regards to the size and type of fire extinguisher we might need in each area of our yard. Evan turned our tedious annual inspection of our equipment into something that was easy to handle. Hopefully, Fire King outfits him with a new truck soon. He definitely deserves it.

Robert checked our panel and tightened two screws on one loose circuit breaker. He was on site for about 20 minutes and he charged me $350 plus tax for a total of $385.35. Ouch! He said this was the fee for a "site visit." He also offered to waive the tax if I paid cash, which sounded a bit dodgy. I could imagine a site visit costing $75, or $100, or maybe even $150. But nearly $400 for turning two screws? I felt like a sucker and chump. Don't end up like me. Avoid this contractor... unless you have money to burn.

They had to cut open a few walls for the project, but much less than I was expecting. They did a great job and I've worked with them since for a few smaller things as well. Ron's pricing was competitive with other companies, and about 25-30% less than some of their more expensive competitors. Once I selected All Points, Christopher scheduled my installation of a Kuma wood-burning fireplace insert about a month later. The installation included a chimney cap and stainless steel chimney liner. Overall, the installation was done smoothly. I had one small issue with the fan not turning on, and Christopher sent his men out within a week to fix the issue. The Kuma product is an American-made hybrid wood burning stove with a catalytic converter. It is manufactured in Idaho by a family-run company, and I really like the product. I've enjoyed burning wood in the stove multiple times since purchasing it, and I'm confident that I'll be using the stove every Fall/Winter/Spring for many years to come.
