A great experience. David is very informative about all the shoes. He was very patient with all the questions I had. What I liked about David was that he was not pushing to sell. I felt he wanted me to be as informed about what shoe I wanted. I have foot problems and he explained that I truly needed a wider shoe and insoles. I ended up purchasing the Hoka Gaviata 5. I brought my husband the next month. He was a Big 5 Sporting Goods customer. David again was very patient with my husband. He talked with him about the facts. My husband purchased the Hoka Bondi 8 with David. Both are very happy customers. Will come back again. read more

By far the most informative shoe shopping experience you can ask for. The process is a little awkward for a first time buyer, but the staff is wonderful. I love their authentic passion for what they do! read more

Got a pair of Nike Pegasus 39s the other day. Called in before I went and a very nice girl by the name Ariel took down the shoes I was interested in and held them for me under my name. A friendly rep greeted me and helped me with my shoes and assisted with my purchase. Great service, thanks y'all. read more

I just want to thank Ariel for her insight into my shoes, feet, and maximizing my comfort during runs!!! What a difference in my running!!! My feet don't hurt at all! I'll be back when I need shoes for longer runs read more

If you're looking for a new pair of running shoes, I'd recommend this place! They do a professional foot scan and the employees are very well versed in shoe types / what shoe would fit you best. I recommend highly going in person vs ordering online. I had a shoe in mind when I came in and would not have known that that shoe would have been too narrow for me. Overall, very welcoming and a great place to go for running shoes! read more

I'd been wanting to get into running for years, and finally made up my mind to start this year. My friend suggested A Snail's Pace to get my feet properly analyzed and fitted for the right shoes. Two separate people helped me as I had to go and come back (was in queue for breakfast down the road) -- and both were so knowledgeable and helpful and amicable. After telling me about my arches, width, pronation, and gait, four pairs of shoes were brought out for me. I never knew shoes could feel this comfortable! I'd been wearing the wrong shoes for my feet my whole life! I settled on some Asics, and bought a few pairs of Feetures socks (the most comfortable socks I've ever worn). I was also informed about different running apps and signed up for the Snail's Pace app so I can start collecting rewards points cos I'm sure I'll be back many a time now that I'm a runner :) read more

Nice place to purchase your pair of shoes helpful employees and adequate amount of shoes to choose from. Thank you guys

If your feet need more attention than your standard department store, you HAVE to shop here. My boyfriend needed new shoes for work, and when you work 40+ hours a week on your feet, shoes make or break you. Lucas was incredibly attentive, helpful, and didn't rest until my (hard-to-please) boyfriend was happy with his shoes and insoles. We really appreciated his optimistic and friendly attitude throughout the visit. Their shoes are expensive, yes, but they've saved both my boyfriend and me on podiatrist expenses, so you can weigh the cost there. I know we'll both be returning in the future. read more

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Went in there to get trail running shoes for cross country. We were helped almost immediately. They did a "fitting" where you step on this thing that mesures your feet, and tells you what your width is, what feet size each of your feet are, and arch height. Next, I tried on a "neutral" shoe, and ran on the treadmill. Here, they take a video of your feet while you run to see if your ankle dips in, then they suggest shoes based on preference, and what will help you run efficiently. The person who helped us was kind, patient, and had great insights read more

This store is amazing!!!! I've checked out tons of running stores and yes they all have everything running but this store has what's important and that's A+ customer service. I was helped by Cameron and I told him my issues with my feet and he was so knowledgeable and had tons of patience. Not only that but my three year old was with me who kept running around and just being a three year old haha . Cameron bared with while I tended to my daughter and not once did I feel like he was getting irritated or frustrated that I was taking forever to choose a shoe. Not only was Cameron so helpful so was will ( I think that was his name ) I believe he was the manager he too was awesome. They definitely wanted to get me in the right shoe. This store offers great customer service . They tend to your running needs. They have technology that can help even more put you in the perfect shoe. As I told Cameron this store is by far my favorite and will continue to support !!! Thank you for helping me find the right fit and providing knowledge on running shoes. read more

The girl on the front needs a check herself on how she treats customers very rude that's why I didn't buy anything because of her attitude. She needs to get fired that's how's great company's go under because people like that your there to sell shoes and help customers not to just talk to your coworkers. If you don't wanna be at work then go home and do something different. read more

My walking/running shoes needed replacing and I stopped by A Snails Pace. I had a great experience with Kate getting fit for a new pair of shoes. Kate asked me a few questions then proceeded to the fitting process and we narrowed down the selection to three different models. I selected the most comfortable of the three and walked out with a very comfortable pair of shoes. Thanks Kate for your great customer service! read more

I run about 100 miles a week doing distance work for ultras and speed for half's and I kept getting injured from over supination (I think). I read every shoe review I can and own almost everything Nike makes. I had been trying to find a good daily training shoe for relatively long runs that didn't feel like ten pound weights since I was used to heavy foam and carbon plates after training in alphaflys, vaporflys, and endorphin pro 2s. I walked in with a list of hokas and brooks and an Altra or two I wanted to try. The woman who helped me brought out Altra Paradigms just to try before she grabbed my list of shoes, which made me feel like a real idiot because they were the best ones and they never made it onto any of my lists - I'm not even sure I had heard of paradigms and all I've been doing is read shoe reviews for a week. I also got some info on Nike Streakflys that I ordered a few days ago from the guy who was working there. A really well run place with super knowledgeable staff. read more

Never had a bad experience here. Everyone is always helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, without being pushy or judgy (I'm not the greatest runner lol). They always know so much about their products and can easily offer suggestions or helpful hints based on my situation. Never had a problem with returns and will continue to shop here for my running gear! read more

Came in to purchase some running socks. The store associate was very helpful during my visit. I was able buy 3 pairs of socks and get a 4th pair free. The overall experience was 5 stars. read more

I wish I can give this place a better review because people I know raved about this place. However, I have not been so happy with them. I called once and gone there twice hoping to get a customized insoles. This was over a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, their machine was not working at all times. The first time I went there, the person who helped me out said it should be fixed in the next few days, but it wasn't. It has been over a week since I last went, Iwas told that they will call me once it is working and nothing. It's disappointing, but I guess I will have to go somewhere else. read more

Today it was my first time in this awesome place, I liked the system they have to examine the feet and find out which is the correct shoe according to the required needs. Eddie was very knowledgeable and his customer service is very excellent, (a plus he is bilingual) in fact everyone there is very friendly. read more

It's been a while since I've had such a pleasant customer service in a store. The people here are super helpful from beginning to end. I'm a casual beginning runner, and my old running shoes gave up on me, so I was looking for a replacement. As soon as I walked in Josh was there to assist me with a very calm, friendly attitude. After explaining my situation, he got me to hop on this platform for a second, and the measurement and analysis of my feet were immediately there on his iPad. He got me a test shoes for me to run on the treadmill for about ten seconds, and then anaylized my running form so that he could choose the right shoe type. He brought out a couple pairs of shoes, and as I was trying them on, he shared a lot of knowledge to help me understand what to look for in running shoes. I told him I used to run in a Nike Huarache, and he knew what I was talking about and was able to explain to me what characteristic those shoes had versus the ones I was trying on. I really liked the light weight and the fit of the second pair of shoes I was trying out, but was still feeling a little bit of room around my heel. Josh taught me the runner's knot, and now the fit was perfect. All of these help without ever being pushy or rushing my eventual purchase decision. The whole shopping experience was like visiting a nice spa. I was so happy with the experience that I went back the next day to pick up a pair of sunglasses for my run, and they were super helpful with that as well. These guys clearly enjoys running, and more importantly, enjoys helping people get into running. I'm sure I'll keep coming back for my running needs. Great job guys! read more

I heard good things about this place from my sister. I've started to run again, nothing serious, just casual. Afterwards I feel pain on my left foot- sister recommended to go to Snail's Pace to see what type of feet I have and the way I run- the theory is my shoes are not correct for me. I come in to Snail's Pace (1st time here) and asked about being tested. The sales person, I forgot her name, said afterwards I will need to buy a pair of shoes. I looked at the selections and nothing stood out, design- wise. She basically insisted that for them to test how I run, I must buy a pair if shoes. I recommend going to a podiatrist if you have health insurance- and see how you run/walk. The co-pay will most likely be less than what snail's pace is enforcing, in terms of a mandate to buy a pair of shoes. read more

First time visiting the store. My doctor recommended that I look into a good running shoe to provide extra support for my footsies. Marcelo helped me pick out 2 pairs of shoes and some insoles. Walked in 15 minutes before they closed their doors for the day. Greg was very patient and knowledgeable in helping me. He assessed my running, sized my feet, and within minutes had three shoe options for me to pick from. I tried all three and walked away with a great pair of shoes that were fit for my running needs. Once again, never lost his cool even though I had walked in minutes before they closed. I felt welcomed and free to look around the store for extra running accessories. Great service, knowledgable staff, and will definitely come back and refer more of my friends to this location. Thank you! read more

I have been planning to get back to running and decided that I need to go to a place that knows running. Once I got there, I met with Jason who I informed him of my past history in regards to running and my issues. Jason listened and was able to answer my issues. We went through different test to determine what I needed. Jason was able to find me what I felt was the right one pair of shoes. However, he also brought other options that would meet my running needs. I chose his first choice and now look forward to my runs. read more

This is the 2nd time that my husband and I purchased shoes here. The staff are all Very friendly and very knowledgeable. We knew exactly what we wanted this time but the last time we were not sure and they spent extra time having us try on 4-6 pairs each and running on a treadmill so that they could analyze our stride and make recommendations. First time visiting this store and I loved it!! Kate was super helpful, sweet and informative. She was able to find me the shoes I wanted and some great new running tights. My first experience for this place when I walked in with my girlfriend was wow. I wanted to figure out why the bottom of my feet hurts whenever I run or walk for long distances. I don't know the guy that helped my girlfriend and I but he really knows his stuff! He helped scan my feet and explained to me that I have a slight pronation and that my arch is low. He brought out shoes that he thought would be the best for me and they all felt amazing. My girlfriend and I left with new running shoes and I got a custom insoles. I'd definitely come back if I need more running shoes. read more

A Snail's Pace - Shoe Stores Near Me - Monrovia, California

After finding A Snail's Pace a little while back, I never go to any other sneaker store! This was my first time going to the Monrovia location, but I am always blown away by how above and beyond this store goes to get you the shoe that's perfect for you. As soon as I walked in, I was helped my a great employee. Although my name was on file, I wanted to reassess where my pressure-point were on their fancy foot machine and have them record my running to see how I place my foot. I was able to get the right support for my shoe at the same price that people pay for over well-known "fashion" sneaker brands. The difference being, this shoe was selected for me based on my specific needs. If you are a student it's even better, you get a discount! I went mid-day on a weekday so I had no trouble finding free parking besides the store. I am unfamiliar with the area so I am not sure where the best parking locations are during peak days/hours. read more

I was in search of new running shoes and it took less than 5 minutes to get me fitted and find the shoes I wanted to take home! I've had various brands of running shoes but haven't had Hoka yet so I asked the associate Kathleen/Kat if she can show me some pairs and I loved the Arahis. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and patient to answer a few questions I had. The next time I need shoes I'll be going back to A Snail's Pace . Thank you Kat! read more

New customer for life. I went to A Snail's Pace a few weeks ago. After an assessment of my running style, foot shape etc I was set up with a new pair of running shoes. Unfortunately there was a manufacturer's issue with the shoes (cannot emphasize enough, not an issue with the store itself) that caused blisters. A Snail's Pace were true to their returns policy and have exchanged the shoes for a new, comparable pair that I can't wait to try out. Their staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Their selection is great. Their customer service and integrity are impeccable! read more

Came in with high hopes on getting some nice running shoes. The sales guy greeted us by asking if we plan on purchasing today, not just once but multiple times. Our intent was to try the running analysis our runner friends suggested and get recommendations on which pairs are best suited. And that was exactly what we stated to him. He did the analysis, stated we look at the wall for a Stability shoe and never talked to us again. Instead he rather stay behind the cashier area with another coworker. Very disappointed. read more

Had a great shopping experience! I have a bruised nerve on the bottom of my foot and my doctor recommend I buy the shoe Hoka One One. I checked on line and other stores but the service I had at A Snails Pace was by far the best! Not only did they clerks took the time to ask me what I needed they also helped me buy the right shoe! I will definitely recommend them to my friends and will definitely come back! Thanks again, A Snails Pace! read more

I actually really like this place. It was referred to me by my cousin. They measure your feet and determine what you're using the most, even put you on the treadmill. They give you various of shoes to try that fits your description and have you run in 'em (cuz I requested running shoes). So be prepare...as in your workout clothes and a little sweating if you sweat easily like me. Too bad my feet were too big/wide, they only had the shoes that fitted me well in a weird color that I didn't like. What's awesome is that they save your profile so that if you go back, they don't have to "re-fit" you. Service is great! Highly recommend it. I got lucky with parking and got a spot right away In front of the store. There's street parking. No sure if they have their own parking lot. read more

Haven't been in for a while... wanted to get running again and the first thought was I need to get new shoes. Of course A snails pace Monrovia was a given. And always one on o e service to get the exact fit and feel with many different shoes. Now I can run in comfort while protecting my body and feet. Don't just go get shoes. Get the proper shoe from those who know shoes and running!! A Snails Pace is the place. read more
