Met with Lucas, a quite respectful knowledgeable young man! I explained my needs and preferences and he provided accordingly, while not pressuring me for additional items! Great customer service. WILL definitely be back! read more

Just bought a pair of shoes and wanted to shout out Shanoah (sorry if I misspelled your name). She was attentive, professional, and courteous. You guys rock. read more

My podiatrist recommended some shoes with more padding. They had several options in stock - Hoka, New Balance, etc. The customer service was great. They helped me find the right size and encouraged me to walk around to make sure they felt alright. They also have an app, so you can earn points for your purchases! I will likely come here again when I have to replace my trail runners. Great little business to support! read more

First time here. Had a really great experience. My guy was Lucas, thanks! Expected to walk out $300-400 lighter, but got out with a great pair of Sauconys, nice Running belt, goodr glasses and a Snails Pace Shirt for $207!! Score I thought for sure I would have a funky running style, but turns out I don't. I require a "Neutral" shoe after video analysis. I will be back for my next pair. read more

Upon several recommendations from friends, I stopped by A Snail's Pace today to get fitted for some running shoes. I walked in and was greeted/helped by Omar who was very friendly and helpful. I first stepped on the pressure point thing and he explained my arches, pressure points, etc. Then he had me try on a pair of neutral shoes and jog a little bit while recording on video. He showed me how my ankles collapsed in each time my heel struck the ground. He then brought out some shoes that had more support to help fix that issue. I tried jogging again and we immediately saw improvement on video. Finally, he brought out several different shoes for me to try on and after I narrowed it down to 2 choices, he had me take a jog outside to test how it felt on concrete. I made my choice and bought some new balance shoes! The process was very simple and Omar did not seem pushy at all. He took the time to explain when I had questions and I had an overall great experience! I would recommend this store to friends and family looking to get fitted for running shoes. On a side note: i asked him how long this store has been open considering there was only 1 review before mine. He said they have been open for 7 years and that there was some sort of problem with yelp confusing or merging the reviews for this location with one of their other locations. Don't hesitate to come here! read more

Great service! Came to grab a pair of shoes for working out after wearing chucks for the last 5 years! Kyle helped me out and got me in a perfect pair of shoes quickly and I couldn't be happier. Check them out you won't be disappointed. read more

I've been needing new all around shoes for being on my feet all day, walking, and working out. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by Kate. She was very welcoming and wanted to help me right away. I explained to her my issues with my current shoes and what type of shoes I was looking for. She then had me stand on a plate that scanned my feet and analyzed my feet shape, size, and width. The results showed up on her tablet. It was very resourceful! She then brought out pairs of shoes for me that best matched my feet criteria. The shoes were all very comfortable, practical, and excellent quality. My feet are on the wider side with a high arch, so I felt so relieved when they had a variety of selections for my feet type. Kate educated me on each shoe and the specifics. She did not pressure me to buy the shoes and made me feel comfortable with my shopping experience. I finally decided on the Hoka Mach, as they were everything I was looking for! I highly recommend this store for an excellent shoe shopping experience. read more

If you aren't an ultra runner type, be prepared to feel not worthy at this place . The vibe is not inclusive at all!.

My go to place for my running shoes /gear. Staff is so knowledgeable and friendly! They have a great selection. I am not a fan of online shopping, as I enjoy the personable customer service & and love being able to try on items for the right fit. Support your local business! read more

I've been to several running stores and the ASP chain is by far the best. The Monrovia location is clean, has a variety of shoes, running gear, gels, etc. You need anything for running, they have it or they'll order it for you. The employees are experienced runners, super friendly, ready to help, knowledgeable and never pushy. I've always felt very comfortable there and never intimidated. Not afraid to ask questions, be it simple or complex. They can assess your gait/running pattern if needed and bring out great recommendations for shoes. I usually try several pairs of shoes at once and spend a lot of time running in each of them and trying to decide which pair to get. I take a looong time. But they've never made me feel bad for doing so and they don't hover and make you feel uncomfortable. I always leave happy and if anything, they have a great 30 day return policy. Highly recommended. read more

Well if you want good service bring your husband or some strapping man with you. My husband has always gotten five star service and raved to me about their special technology for sizing up your feet to the perfect shoe fit. However when I (mom, 40ish female) brought my growing tween son in to get fitted for shoes, I was treated completely differently. They dismissed and ignored my repeated requests to have the special sizing technology done. All we got was the manual sears shoe measurement and a few shoes thrown at us to try on. I was so insulted. I will never come to this store again. And no they were not busy at the time. read more

This was my first visit to A Snail's Pace store, or any specialty running establishment. Jason greeted me as soon as I walked in. He analyzed my feet and examined the mechanics of my running. Jason established the type of shoe I would need and had me try on several different pairs. Jason was very knowledgeable and gave me some helpful advice on running as well. There was no pressure to buy anything. Ultimately, I chose a pair of Hoka One One's and I really like them. Such a huge difference in my runs now that I have the appropriate shoes for my feet and running style. I'll definitely return to this store for future purchases. read more

I can't say enough great things about A Snail's Pace. I really appreciate the time that each employee takes with you to get you in the right running shoe. I've been to other running stores and this one by far is the most helpful and provides outstanding customer service! I've had them transfer shoes from other locations, deal with a defective shoe and help me get in a shoe that will help with foot injury. They always go above and beyond and it's greatly appreciated. read more

The hero of this tale is sadly a name I forgot. A tall slender young fellow who was incredibly helpful. He suggested a shoe a pinch out of my price range and when I told him so he adjusted and brought me great selections and an ASICS shoe that was on sale and perfect. From now on I only but my sneakers at A Snail's Pace. One more reason Monrovia is the best. read more

Staff is really helpful and friendly Lucas gave me a couple options and I ended up taking the ones I felt fit best. I don't really like running but sometimes you have to push yourself and break PRs. I ran for about 2 1/2 hours with little to no knee or hip pain these plush altras made a world of difference read more

Even though ordering shoes online is more convenient, the in store experience, personalized attention, knowledgeable staff and all-around awesome environment is so unparalleled at A Snail's Pace. I came here on Christmas Eve with the intention to get running shoes for most of my family members. I had their shoe size and described their lifestyle and any ailments or injuries. Kyle is extremely knowledgeable and helpful! I did the whole running in the treadmill thing and was very impressed by the customer service. ! I am stoked about my shoes - one for gym and one for running - and everyone in the family. The salesperson did not pressure us to go with the trendiest or most expensive shoe; he was genuinely invested in helping us find the perfect fit for each person on our list. Thanks Kyle and merry Christmas to this outstanding team! read more

Greg did a good job doing the analysis and etc. However, when we special ordered my husband's shoes, we never got a phone call or any update. After three weeks of waiting, When we called the store to get an update, we were told "oh I'm sorry this is unacceptable". The person on the phone Got our #, and said he will call us back to give us a tracking #. We never got a call back. A week later we went back to the store to get a refund since we never got the shoe. When we asked what happened, the boy (yes boy not man, since he needs to grow up) answered "I don't know. I wasn't there." No apology for us waiting for a month. No explanation. Better go to the store in brea than here read more

This was my first time here, and first time for the store to open after the Covid quarantine was lifted. I was greeted at the door, and almost immediately seated. Lucas helped me, tested my feet, then brought out a pair of shoes just to try. I put them on, walked around, and it felt like I was walking on clouds. I thought them immediately! I wore them on my walk that evening, and my feet were SO happy! I am completely in love with Snails Pace, their customer service, their thorough routine in helping you find just the right pair of shoes, and their friendliness! I 100% recommend them. read more

We had an excellent experience at a snails pace, while selecting my daughters first pair of cross country running shoes. The store was clean, but more importantly, our sales person Greg was knowledgeable and took the time to get to know my daughters' needs in shoes. He brought out a selection of shoes he thought would support her flat feet, and made sure that a few of the pairs were even on sale! Although the store overall is more pricey than a big box store, I believe the cost is worth it in terms of service. read more

I went to A Snail's Pace in Monrovia yesterday for the first time and Jason helped me find the right shoes so I can walk my dogs in comfort. Jason took time to check how I walk and had me try on different brands and styles that might suit me. He also had me compare shoes until I found two pair that I liked. I always by two pair at a time so I can switch them off and not wear the same pair two days in a row. I recommend A Snail's Pace because of their personalized customer service. You just can't get this kind of help in a big box store. I am so glad I found them since the independent store I used to go to in La Verne recently closed down. Supporting independent businesses is a good thing to do! read more

64 year old woman with bad calf pain. I was recommended to this place by a physiotherapist or I would have never known about it. I think this place is lacking in the marketing department, I mean I have never heard of them. If it were my business I would have posters in every physiotherapy and senior citizen place I could detailing their diagnostic service. I was greeted by a young man who I thought might be too young to really know what I needed. Wow, was I suprised. Zane was not only polite he was very informative. What I really liked was that he listened to me, and he did not try and sell me the most expensive runner in the store. What a nice suprise. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs some advice on the proper shoe and I fully recommend Zane for his outstanding customer service, what a pleasant young man. read more

I drove 20 minutes to get here, and it was worth it. I was having a lot of ankle pain recently, and my chiropractor recommended I go to a store that specializes in shoes rather than just going to a random shoe store in the mall. The employees here are extremely nice and helpful. They have all this cool technology to help find the best shoes for you. They even have a treadmill for you to run on to test your shoes out. After a week or so of using these shoes over my other ones, the pain has completely stopped. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Went to get my feet/running analyzed here and was not disappointed! I was helped by Omar who was honest and so helpful. They even special ordered me shoes in a color that they didn't have in stock. This is the best running shoe store ever!!! They have an incredibly knowledgeable and polite staff. Not only do they have a large variety of shoes, they had all the shoes I tried on in my preferred size, extra wide. However, the most incredible thing happened. I tried a brand of shoe in two sizes, 10 and 10.5. While the salesman, Will, and I were talking, two right shoes of the same style, one of each size, accidentally were packed into the box for me. I paid for them and left. When I arrived home, I discovered the two right shoes in the box. I called the store and explained the problem. Will told me I did not have to drive back to the store, he would drive to my home to switch out and give me the correct left shoe. I live about 11 miles from the store. In about 20 minutes, Will arrived at my home and gave the left shoe in the correct size. Who does this? Unbelievable! This is the best example of customer service I have experienced in my lifetime! Will should be commended for his "above and beyond" customer service. I will shop at this store forever, and tell everyone I know to do the same. Thank you, Will, and thank you "A Snail's Pace". You are the best retail store ever! read more
