Just got my Samsung 55'' back from Michael and couldn't be happier. When my TV randomly stopped working, I spent over an hour on the phone with Samsung customer service. No clear fix in sight and was told I needed to get the TV serviced. After a quick yelp search, I found A-Plus and gave a call. The next day Michael was at my apartment, did some quick diagnostics and brought the TV back to his shop. I have an old (maybe 16 year old) Yamaha Stereo receiver and CD multi-disk changer that I've owned for years. After using it for years the CD changer didn't change disks and my receiver would not operate. Both machines showed lighted displays but nothing worked. I researched the internet and found A-Plus electronics. I called Micheal who is the proprietor and explained the problems. He said to come by his shop and he'd take a look at it. We made an appointment and I brought my stuff in the same day. When I spoke to him I told him I didn't want to spend more than $80 to fix an old stereo. After a week he called and said the CD changer is fixed. It was a broken belt and minor electrical connections. The receiver took another few weeks. Interestingly enough his engineer after doing some research reprogrammed my receiver through the remote control to make it work. I have to admit that it took almost a month to fix it all, but I was happy to have my stereo working and happy to pay no more than $80. Throughout the process Micheal was very cordial and professional. I was very happy with the work and customer service. Don't let the looks of his funky shop dissuade you. Michael, and his video camcorder staff, did a great job restoring our Sony PD170 prosumer camera to good working condition. We picked it up on schedule today--and it works beautifully. We were having big headaches with our time code reset functions that the repair person apparently fixed by rebooting the onboard chip, then he restored the scan drum--which should eliminate the puzzling breakup of the picture and pixillation that was increasingly mysteriously messing up some of our footage. I decided to contact A Plus when my flat screen needed repairing. Michael came out and diagnosed that it wasn't worth fixing as it was old. (It no longer had the color blue ) He then offered his personal help in finding me a new flat screen. I have never received such friendly personal service before. Previous Yelp reviews helped with allay my suspicions. I had bought my old TV from Best Buy where i felt hustled and spent time going to the store. Essentially Michael made it effortless, coming to my house, measuring the space the TV would fit in. He came back and installed the new set. The new TV is much better than the old one. New technology a "Smart TV". I was already impressed with his service but to top it off he didn't ask for payment for about two weeks. He said he wanted to make sure I was happy with the new set before paying for it. I wish all transactions could be so easy. I have never felt the compunction to write a review until working with Michael at A Plus. I read all the other 5 star reviews before asking him to look at my Panasonic plasma with the 7 blinking lights problem. Everything others say is true. Super responsive, very honest, great repair, very fair prices. Michael picked up my tv and had it back to me in a few days. Solid tv repair, cost of diagnostic is only $20. I was going to get best buy geek squad to take a look at a samsung led tv where the screen wasn't working, but they were going to charge $100 just for a diagnostic. Glad I came to Michael instead. He gave me great advice to call Samsung and see if I could get a one time warranty exception (warranty had expired by a couple months), which they did. Ended up saving me hundreds of dollars. I called Michael on 1/29 when all the HDMI ports on my 55" Samsung stopped working...just over a week before I was set to host a Super Bowl party. Michael quickly researched the problem and corresponded with me over the next several days until we talked on Sunday 1/31 (when his hours list that he is not even supposed to be open!) and he told me that he would have to order a new board for my TV. It was extremely easy to coordinate with Michael as he and I were able to text back and forth as we figured out when he would come to do the installation. When Michael came to do the repair at my home on Thursday 1/4, he was exceedingly kind and even explained every step that he took so I could follow along. In less than 45 minutes, he replaced the board and further diagnosed that my Comcast cable box had blown out as well (thus giving me enough heads up to remedy that issue on my own). My TV has worked perfectly since then so, I HIGHLY recommend Michael/A-Plus Electronics to anyone in need to repairs. read more

I had a problem of my Samsung not turning ON, so I called Samsung. They gave the work order to A-Plus Electronics and Michael called me the following day. I live outside his normal service area, over 45 miles east of San Francisco, but, he scheduled the work out, and the TV was reaired and works just fine. Very solid. From the time the board on my plasma went out to the time it was returned in working order took over three weeks, but unfortunately I think that was how long it was going to take. Michael gave our family the most incredible service you can imagine! We were referred to A-Plus by the warranty company when our 95 year old father's TV stopped working. Michael went above and beyond. He communicated with us constantly, and was in touch with the warranty company every step of the way. He brought our father a loaner TV, and then brought him another one as soon as a larger screen loaner became available. Michael determined that the TV can not be repaired (only because the parts are no longer available) and got the warranty company to agree that it must be replaced. We have a vintage stereo receiver that stopped working period. If I could give A Plus Electronics a negative star, I would. They absolutely ruined the unit I took in for a minor repair. After 4 months and countless unreturned calls, I finally went over there to get my item back. It was worse than when I took it in. Completely dead and the outer cabinet was scuffed and beat up. Wouldn't even power up. When a legitimate repair facility opened the item up, they found the circuits were soldered wrong, working parts were ripped out and wrong parts were installed. What was once a valuable and very sought after functioning unit is now basically a worthless basket case. Run, don't walk, away from these idiots. One star is far too good. read more
