My wife stopped by this place after we'd passed by for the last 5 months. She brought home a handful of Cuban pastries. Now, I wasn't too familiar with Cuban fare, save for the better known dishes.
Walking in, I was caught off guard with how nice it was. Who ever designed this place did really well with what they were working with. A great place to stop in for Cuban coffee and pastry. They have a covered outdoor sitting area. Plenty of parking. Lots of tables.
She brought home torrejas, the Cuban tres leches, and another I can't recall. The deserts were sweet but not overly cloying.
We went back there next day and bought a little of everything in order to sample. The empanadas were perfect. We got the tentacion de chocolate, the cabezotes, the cuernitos and coconut meringue and guava meringue. For savory, we ordered the Cuban sandwich. This was a different Cuban than I'm used to. It had pork cutlet, ham, potato sticks, cucumbers tomatoes, and lettuce. I didn't taste pickles, mustard or Swiss cheese, like I've tasted in others. Nor was it pressed and toasted. However, it was still very good. Just different than what I was used to.
We also ordered the platanitos maduros.
The thing that real brought it home was that everything was made in house. And it was all fantastic. I'll definitely be returning and trying the other desserts and main dishes. They also serve breakfast. Door dash is listed on their menu for deliveries!
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting Latin food but wanting something other than Tex Mex. read more
