Mangonada Preparada

Got this yummy Mangonada, the slushy part was super yummy and sweet, the mango on top was not really ripe, but that's expected since it's out of season. The service was very quick, it is a Spanish-speaking establishment so make sure to get your order ordering lingo, right. It's a cute space, decorated. They have a bunch of other options, I'll definitely be back to try more.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican snacks on the East Side, this is the right place. Bring your appetite and your patience because English may not be the first language of the person taking your order. (Google translate and pointing to the photo are your friend) Not to worry, they will take good care of you. My favorite item is the Mangonada fully prepared with fresh mango chunks, chamoy, chili powder and a Tamarindo candy straw! On a hot day it hits the spot and the fresh fruit almost makes it guilt free. The staff are patient (because the menu is extensive) and friendly. Insider Tip: Walk to the back of the store. The line forms there. Order your food and walk to the register to pay. They will call your name. Take a seat in the spacious seating area while you anxiously await your delicious treats.

Went here on my daughters recommendation. The Tortas are very good and the price is good. The sandwiches are full and layered. Bread is cooked just right. It was very filling.

I'm no expert on Mexican desserts or botanas but 5 stars for the well-lit and clean interior space and the extensive selection of paletas. Big hit with my daughter and in a pretty central location to boot.

Okay, so I may have been a bit overwhelmed but the OPTIONS! Wow, they have popsicles, ice cream, toppings, nachos, fruit, drinks, cakes, and so much more! The lady was very patient with me as I walked around looking at the options and preparing to select my bad decision (I knew I wasn't getting regular fruit with all of these options in my face ). I made my own milkshake with cheesecake ice cream and strawberries and cream ice cream. Talk about delicious! I'm glad I'm just finding this place as I would have gained 5 pounds between yesterday and today. I could type for days but I'd rather finish my shake.

I happened to order a 3 tier cake since the previous year I ordered one from there and it was a big hit. Well not this year. The cake was way over moist that the support stand started to slant during the transport. The bottom tier broke causing the top 2 tiers to slide out and begin to crack. Luckily we were able to salvage the top 2 tiers. $220 dollars for a broken cake. My daughters bday was near ruined. I called them to explain the situation and they tried to blame it on me.

Mangoneada, with a scoop of "pepino con chile" (cucumber with chile")....I was sad when it was gone.

My husband and I originally ordered 2 of the plain churros to share, but we ended up getting two extra orders of this after our first order because they were that good. I also tried a few drinks that my friends ordered from here and were also pleasantly surprised by them! This is a small food truck with only one person working in it, so be patient but the churros are definitely worth the wait. Service was friendly! There are several picnic benches where you can sit and enjoy your treat (be careful about all the bugs though, I got a bunch of bites from sitting here).

The staff was friendly and happy to answer our questions, and our order was ready in just a couple minutes! I got the Matcha-Cha off the seasonal menu, which had a great balance of matcha flavor and lightly sweet strawberry ice cream. The roasted walnuts added a really nice break in texture, which I loved. My husband ordered the Campfire with added ice cream, which was rich and very chocolaty. The charred marshmallow on top was a great touch and made it extra indulgent. Overall, a great late night dessert stop with solid flavors and friendly service. Definitely worth checking out when you're craving something sweet!

Highly highly recommend a visit, especially given how late they are open at night and night time soft serve is the best! I was craving Ube and might have gone a bit overboard on ordering dessert because they had so many Ube options. The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!

Gordough's is one of those places that fully commits to indulgence. I was able to place my order online and schedule for pick up. The order was ready when I arrived. Parking was a bit challenging and the lot was full and they charge for parking. Service was quick, casual, just good energy and fast turnaround. I ordered my tried and true Miss Shortcake with their famous cake donut with cream cheese icing and fresh cut strawberries. The donut is so indulgent and was served warm with the most delectable flavor combinations. Tried the Son of a Peach with cream cheese icing, spiced peach filling, cake mix topping, cinnamon and sugar with honey butter. This one was a bit too overindulgent and sweet for my liking but was definitely worth a try. Portions are huge and can be shared as the donut is not as good warmed over. The staff were friendly when we got our drinks, but the exchange was brief. The space, though, is super Instagrammable with lots of playful decor. Parking is a little tight out front, with some extra spots along the side street. I ordered the crème brûlée taro milk tea with boba, and my husband got the regular crème brûlée milk tea with boba. Flavor-wise it was good, but my drink had a lot happening texture-wise. Between the crystallized sugar, grainy taro, and boba, it caught me by surprise. Once everything was mixed together, it was fine, just not my favorite. Still a fun spot with creative drinks, and I'd be open to trying something else next time!

Even so, the ambience seems like the decorations were cute, but very cheap and damaged overtime with little to no repairs. But I didn't come here for aesthetics. I came here for great Boba tea and sweet treats. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. What looked like a traditional milk toast dessert, was literally four pieces of stale bread, toasted and stacked on top of each other. that tasted freezer burnt with lots of sauce on top. No topping between each layer so it was not flavorful or tasty and all you could taste was a weird chemical flavor from the bread. Same thing with the ice cream, so freezer burnt that it tasted of chemicals, cardboard, and didn't even melt despite sitting on the plate for 15+ minutes. The Taro tea itself was fine with the crème brûlée topping, but the brown sugar Boba had the same chemical "going bad" flavor to it. It was super hard and bitter tasting instead of sweet. The soufflé pancakes were fine, but the ice cream was terrible on that too. It's hard to mess up Ice Cream, but somehow they managed.
