Alvaro and Daniel came by for a diagnosis/estimate. I was very impressed with how thorough/patient they were through the diagnosis and answering our questions. Even when it became clear they may not be able to do the work (they do retrofit and we need new construction). I can't say enough good things about A D Window Services. I called them last week after we'd had a break-in at our house and needed to have the broken glass on the door replaced ASAP. Alvaro came to our house that same day to board up the door since the glass needed a custom order and would take a while to be ready. We decided to pay extra for rush delivery on the glass order and it was ready within the time frame that he had given us. As soon as the glass was ready he came and installed it. He made sure that we got all the information we needed to submit a claim to our insurance company, and didn't ask for any money until the job was complete. I don't know what happened to our service in comparison to the other reviews but we went with AD window as the reviews were good and price was right. Daniel was late with traffic the first time he came out to see the broken window and it went down hill from there..... He showed up today to install the window and gouged the drywall on the window sill, bent the frame of the window so that it has a gap up towards the top of the closing,and the window gaskets are poorly done. I was comparing windows from Big box stores like Home Depot and Lowe's, while also comparing the pricing and servicing from Advertised Window replacing and installation. What my want was a new sliding door with a built in dog door that is secure and also preserves the sliding door entry and exit. I looked around for different products and still need sound dampening since I live in South San Francisco and the planes fly over head. Long story short, some places wanted me to buy aftermarket and then install, that's it, fairly straight forward all while saying that installation could increase since my sliding door was just a bit smaller than standard since SFO airport had modified existing windows and glass doors but did not change out the frame. (If you are window shopping, let them explain that one.) A D, I spoke mainly with Daniel, and he gave me lots of options at lower price points, for example, I could buy a frame and he could replace the glass to be less than half the price of what was sold at Big Box stores and custom shops, while still being 100% custom. Log story short, I ended up going with a slightly bigger size than the original sliding door, which was only a standard, and A D, did not disappoint. finished product not only looks better since we went modern style compared to the Airport metal look that was already there. He beat everyone, I mean by a lot and is very flexible with time since I would have him initially come after 9pm to check everything out due to my schedule. Highly recommend them for sliding door jobs, especcially for pet owners who hate the pet sliding doors from you place in the opening door way. When I bring out a big plate of BBQ, that old pet door got in the way, now I can't believe I went so many years with that burglary hazard in my door way. He said he could come the next day! The cool thing is he had me take a picture of the window with my cell phone and gave me an accurate estimate minutes later. My husband was mowing the yard and a rock kicked up and smashed our patio French door. I was frantic to have it replaced so I started yelping window repair companies. I saw the great reviews for AD windows and called them for a quote. Daniel called me back the same day. On a Sunday when they are closed! I was very impressed with the sense of urgency and Daniel was able to fit me in the next day. He showed up, gave me a reasonable quote and I was able to have him knock it down a bit so that was extra cool of him. He measured the window and ordered the glass for the door. Three days later, he said the glass is ready. He again fit me in the next day and he showed up right on time. With his helper, they had my broken glass removed and cleaned the door moldings. The work area was cleaned and looked great afterward, no need for further clean up. I had the window balancers failing on me for years, and I had called at least 15 different companies to fix it, and no one was able to. These guys came one day, checked the broken parts, ordered and in 3 days the windows were functional again. They are pros, sent me the quote via email, showed me what was failing and clearly explained what was going on. It makes me happy when I know for what I am paying for. We had a shower door installed, and Daniel, put in two panels for the shower door. The panels should have been 3/4 inch wider. I had mentioned this to Daniel, when it was first installed, but he said it was normal. One and a half years later, the shower door was leaking all over. He came back and checked the shower, and removed a few pieces of plastic. So, it is worse than before. I was not able to contact him for a month and left a 1 star review Edit 10/2/2015: Daniel contacted me, and apologized for not replying, since he was out of country. He did go back to our home, and redid the panels (which is expensive). Thanks to him for fixing an earlier mistake. Overall, I was not happy initially. Since he fixed the issue, I am updating the rating to account for the good customer service I got after he came back from vacation. read more
