We've done a lot of house projects recently and so rarely in the last 2 years have I been able to give one of these companies a five star view. But Able Glass? I would give them six stars if I could. Recommended to me by a friend who recently had their windows replaced, I reached out to Able not sure about how their timelines would be. Eric, the owner, was extremely responsive, getting back to my initial request in under an hour. By the end of the same day, I had an appointment scheduled for one of their people to take a look and give us an estimate. At the time, we were in the middle of a kitchen remodel. Turns out our contractor wanted us to wait until after the project was completed to get the windows replaced due to permitting. No problem - Able quickly worked with us to get our appointment canceled and rescheduled once we were ready. When Leo came out, he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He answered a lot of questions on site, and Eric replied to all of our follow-up questions via email. They have a showroom locally that I was able to go to to check out the actual windows to help me decide on the model I wanted. Once I landed on the model, Able placed the window order. They came in pretty quickly in my opinion, I think about six weeks? Maybe a little bit quicker. As soon as the windows arrived, they reached out to schedule the installation. Since we were replacing a lot of windows, it was a multi day project. We were able to schedule for the following week. The crew came and knocked out the windows in two days. There was some extra work that needed to happen to install trim around the windows on the outside, and they came on a Saturday to finish that work. I was extremely impressed at how clean they kept the work area, barely any dust/debris left at all. I was expecting a lot more, but they were vacuuming the whole time and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. The areas on the existing trim that we needed to do paint touchup on were also so much smaller than I expected. I could barely even tell that the windows were replaced from looking at the trim! The outside trim work that they did was very high-quality, and both my husband and I were impressed at the final look. It truly looks way better than it did before. Plus, the crew were so helpful in explaining all the trim options to us, showing us mock ups of what it might look like, and helping us choose the best option. We as a family have been using Eric at Able Glass for over 40 years. They have replaced all our homes and rental property windows. I recently had them replace a old garden window and sliding glass door. Highly recommend Able Glass for double pane window repair/replacement We had 3 windows where the gas leaked between the panes of glass and made the windows cloudy. We had estimates from 3 companies and when the person came from Able Glass, he showed up on time, took less than 10 minutes, told us this was a routine job since they have the appropriate tools and experience. The other company that provided an estimate was not confident in the method and encouraged us to buy completely new windows vs repair the existing windows with new panes of glass. They could not guarantee the work and their estimate was about 44% higher in cost. The 3rd company gave an estimate based on photos I sent, so they did not realize there were 2 different sizes and the wooden frame around the window. Fast forward to today. Ron, the installer came over and spent 3.5 hours replacing the 3 window panes. He was extremely professional and did a phenomenal job in fixing our windows with the new panes. The cost was extremely reasonable. And I highly recommend Able Glass. I cannot say enough about this company. So easy to work with and they were flexible with timing to accommodate our schedule. In the past, we purchased the entire new window which included the wood frame, and we had to prime and paint the new wood on the windows and then install them. That was fine when the windows were under warranty, but once they were not, we would have to pay at least $1K per window and then either do prime/paint and install the windows ourselves or pay for someone to do the painting and install. With just replacing the window panes, we saved lots of money and time. And the time for this all to be done was 3.5 hours! I've included a before and after photo. read more

Excellent service and work! The pane in my kitchen cabinet became loose with a hairline fracture at the top corner. I called Able Glass and even though it was a small project they responded immediately and came out the next day to take it in for repair. The kitchen cabinet door was returned and installed with only one day in between the first service call to pick it up! The price was very reasonable. Over the last two years, I've had every window and external sliding door replaced by Able Glass. I continued to choose them for each additional job because the experience was always so good. (And they even gave me a great price break on the final windows that I installed!) I own a property in the San Francisco Bay Area (South Bay). I have engaged the services of Able Glass on two separate occasions. Initially, I replaced the single-paned windows and doors for a section of the property to mitigate noise and reduce heating and cooling inefficiencies. BUYER BEWARE! Unfortunately, I used Able glass for my recent one window replacement order and install. They included the install with the window order. The workers were not supervised and spoke little English. They mixed, cured and applied the stucco very poorly, haphazardly and below any professional standard. I live in a 1934 vintage stucco house with unique stucco texture and patterning. Able glass made no attempt to match the existing stucco. The stucco did not cure properly and when painted over, the paint peeled immediately off. After pointing out their mess to Leo and simply asking for my install money back (not the window money since now I had to re-stucco the entire exterior wall as opposed to just around the window), he forwarded my request for refund to owner, Chris. Chris texted me that he had forwarded my request to his attorney. Their customer regard, customer service and customer satisfaction had suddenly simply disappeared. Now in the world of legalese and "she said he said" for another year or two. For a company that boasts about how helpful and competent they are, been a local business over 50 years, they sure are very slow to show it. read more

We needed to replace several double-panes in or 33-year-old house (sigh, it seems like we just built it a few years ago) and we were fortunate to find Able Glass. The material was of excellent quality, though anyplace can come up with that. But at Able Glass it was clear (pun intended) that the staff was of the highest quality as well, from the sales and scheduling, to the superb installation by Ron - efficient and friendly.
