What can I say? I was desperately looking for a good and honest mechanic for my never ending check engine light debacle.... I was referred to them. I went there frustrated by my experience with a different mechanic but Eddie gave me a sense of calm after I told him what I had been through for two weeks with that other business I left my car with him Monday and the next day he told me it's a purge valve and detective pump. I'm like finally some answers! I feel like it was a decent price as well. He even fixed some other small issues like my parking sensor. Certified Swindlers, I am glad they closed down. They were supposed to give a quote for replacing a stolen catalytic converter, and instead they put the worst POS converter in and took the insurance money. It wasn't even CA-compliant, the state which they were in. I found the piece of metal they put into the car for under $100 online, and they charged my insurance over $2K for it. When I found out that the converter they put in was a POS, they immediately tried denying and deflecting, trying to say it was only a temporary installation and they would put a proper converter in when they are available (they were available). Then they wanted money to put in a new converter, to replace the junk one they had put in and lied about in the first place. I would have taken them to small claims court if I had the time to do it, instead I just got a proper converter put in elsewhere out of my own pocket (since insurance already paid Certified Swindlers here). I really hope someone they screwed over actually did take her to small claims court, and end their BS read more

I wish I could give a lower review. Where to start with Eddie and his business? Never, NEVER go with these guys. Eddie talks and jokes - but he is the biggest lier. He creates work. Overcharges. And my own mechanic who sent us to him, has promised to never send any more customers to him. He saw his shabby work with the bad seals (after $5.5k expenses) and said he did a terrible job after two rounds. Like many others on here, I also brought my Audi to be serviced as the acceleration was choppy and the check engine light was on. Eddie then called me the next day informing me that while they were running tests on the car, the timing chain broke and the car was completely un-drivable. They then offered to fix it for $2,8000 and it ended up being $5,500. Upon completion, when I picked it up, it had no gas in it and a terrible leak that has since made a mess of my driveway. I called the owner and he claimed there were no leaks when they finished servicing the car, yet I noticed the leaking immediately as I got home. I took it back in to have it fixed and they informed me it had been fixed, yet the leaking has continued. Overall I feel very dissatisfied with the service I received. read more

A Certified AutoWorks (Swindlers) shop is advertising that they can service Audi cars. My Audi A4 for several months was having a problem with a clutch slave cylinder leaking fluid. Despite that, the car was in good driving condition. Recently, I took my car for a repair to A Certified AutoWorks and asked them to replace a clutch slave cylinder with a new clutch slave cylinder (I provided them BOSCH slave cylinder). They called me later to inform that the BOSCH slave cylinder I provided is not the correct part and that they can order the right part fitting my car SACHS SH6546 for $260.00. I check the price for SACHS SH6546 on line and discovered that the part they are offering me for $260.00 available for as low as $27.00. I told A Certified AutoWorks that I would provide them the same part next morning When I delivered the SACHS part A Certified Autoworks told me that the part I delivered is the correct part. After the repair job by A Certified AutoWorks was completed, I was experiencing sometimes difficulty with shifting the transmission gears. Few days ago, I was driving on the Freeway and experienced serious shifting problem. I exited freeway and barely drove the car to the nearest gas station. I tried to start the car and when I pressed the clutch pedal, the clutch pedal collapsed and I could not drive the car anymore. I called AAA tow services and asked to tow the car to A Certified Autoworks location. While waiting for the tow track to arrive I called Certified Autoworks to inform them about the problem with the clutch pedal. They told me over the phone without even checking what went wrong with the car clutch pedal that they are not going to fix my car anymore sine the SACHS slave cylinder part I provided was a defective part. In that case, if the part was made by a bad quality brand, why in the first place they offered me the same part for a $260.00 and if part was defective why they installed the part? Is this a negligence or premeditated effort by the Certified Autoworks to force the customer to pay for the same work twice? Avoid this shop if you can. Despite some of the recent mixed reviews I'm glad to have brought my subaru forester here for a hitch installation. This is a family owned business ran by an honest man. Charbel (owner) was very responsive to my inquiry via yelp, accommodated my request to change my appointment time although I've made the request at the very last minute, offered a competitive price, finished the installation earlier than the estimated time, and even refilled my windshield cleaning fluid on the house! I've been working on a suv camper conversion for the past month. Not only has it been very difficult to find a hitch installation service provider in the area, some that did offer the service either pushed me off to other businesses, or declined providing me of the service unless I bought the hitch from them. Charbel warmly welcomed my request and only charged me for labor. His price was much much better than what I could get even on Amazon. We need to be supporting local businesses, especially when they offer great service for a very fair price. Charbel even pulled up the manufacture's installation video via youtube, reviewed the attached instruction and explained how he'd approach the installation to give me the comfort and assurance that his work would be done properly. This place I unfortunately fell on when my car engine broke down and my insurance said that this was a good place to take my car. Unfortunately, after being told that my engine seized because oil couldn't get to the engine components (A Hyundai recall I later discover), They find me a used Honda engine with supposedly 20,000 miles on it, it turns out that I'm confident it does not have that little of miles on it as the vehicle runs very sluggish a month after I got it back from this place. The warranty was like only 30 days. Pretty shady of them. Buyers beware! Today my car still runs sluggish and when I went to replace the spark plugs they actually replace them with the same spark plugs from my old engine which had approximately 80 to 90,000 miles on them. For the price that I spent on the engine you would've thought they would have recommended me replacing the spark plugs. They also seem to have given me an engine wear one of the places the spark plug goes into has Oil in it. read more

There are a lot of good mechanics out there but Chad and his family actually care and are up there with the best in all of La. What started as him being part of the in-network facilities with Carmax for repairs quickly turned to him being my go to mechanic. And I don't easily trust mechanics Willy nilly and I always do my best to find the best. He's up front and honest and willing to help you out with the process of renting a car etc and everything mechanics aren't expected to do. NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION .They gave my old information to CarFax , who created an account without my permission . The information is then made public and shared with insurance companies to make you look bad so they can increase your car insurance rates and devalue your car. This CarFax report is completely wrong . I moved and go to a new mechanic so I no longer am able to prove that the car has been properly serviced, nor should I have to prove anything. There is no way of reaching a human, no way to call CarFax to have your wrong information removed from their database . Once they have your information you are screwed . So either you are forced to keep participating with the program or your report will show that you had terrible maintenance while you owned the car . read more

I had gone to several places before arriving here, and everyone was trying to make money off of me b6 telling me my car had major problems. I had Chad at a Certified check it out, and he ran a full diagnosis on my car with his scanner and he test drove it, and explained the problem to me, I ended up spending half of what other places were quoting me. I took my Audi Q5 here when the check engine light came on. Received a quote for $2900 to replace fuel injectors, fix rear brakes and replace engine hoses etc. got my car back and two days later check engine light comes back on and my car smells like gasoline. Car is leaking gasoline so I have to get it towed back there. They keep it for a few days say the fuel injector was faulty I get it back and two days later check engine light is back on and engine is running poorly Take it back a third time and they hold it for 8 days, say the fixed everything drove it and everything is fine. I get it back is still running poorly and check engine light is on again. I took my care here three times paid $2,900 and wasted three weeks to get it back in worse shape than when I took it in. Took it to Audi only shop in canons Park and they told me they didn't address the problems with the engine seal and pinched the fuel injectors when installing. Also, the fuel injectors probably didn't need replacing just cleaning. DO NOT TAKE YOUR AUDI HERE read more

Great and friendly people. They seem to really know their stuff. They're quite fast (same-day repairs). My 2005 Mazda 3s had some serious issues. From a complete stop, in 1st gear, I could not press down on the gas pedal (only like a very slight press). Otherwise, there would be a real nasty sound and feel on the gas pedal. Engine would sound grindy, and there would be a thudding feel from behind the gas pedal. 1st Visit: fluids change and control arm repair. Initially, my problems seemed to have been resolved. However, the same problems started to re-occur from the very next day. 2nd Visit: changed both of the front struts and replaced the right engine mount (was broken). So far, the issues I had seem to have been completely resolved now. It's only been a day, but this feels fixed. Not sure if it would have been possible on the 1st visit to figure out what they figured out on the 2nd visit, but having to visit twice to completely repair my car is the only reason for giving 4 stars. read more

DESERVES 0 STARS************* BEWARE OF THIS SHOP I had my car worked on here. They gave me a list of things that needed to be replaced (transmission, alternator) . I trusted this place. They said they were replacing the transmission and an alternator with a New One. I took their word and agreed to the $5,300. Picked up my car and then the nightmare began. My car started to turn of out of no where. Scary! I would be driving fwy and on streets and the car would just turn off. Come to find out when A Certified Autowork replaced my Alternator they left 2 wires touching and that was causing my car to just die. Crappy work done (pictures below) My husband started to tear the car up and look further. That's how he found out the alternator was a AFTER MARKET one and Not new oem like these Crooks said on their invoice. My husband put the car up on a lift and found out that the transmission WAS NEVER REPLACED invoice shows part number as a new transmission. They just fixed it. The transmission was never removed. Bolts are still the same and we're never tampered or removed. I then contacted Consumer affairs. They inspected my car and found that this shop did Fraud. To cut this short I received my refund. Beware of this shop and have your car checked out afterwards and make sure all work was performed and all parts on your invoice were replaced /repaired. This was a nightmare for me. read more

I took my BMW X5 in because there was a problem with my radiator. My car was out of warranty so my husband found this location. They told me they replaced the radiator and I paid over 2000.00 Several months later the radiator was still giving me problems. I ended up getting into a car accident and took the car to Century West BMW in North Hollywood. They fixed my car but also looked and said I had a cracked radiator. So it turns out it was never replaced by A Certified AutoWork as they had told me and I had paid for it. I also had brakes done by them and they have continuously squeaked. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

I took my car next door to get smog check and it didn't pass. :-( I already thought that it wouldn't and I asked the smog guy if he knew any good mechanics. He said that he's not suppose to recommend anyone but I said "I won't tell" and he said that the guy next to him seemed pretty good. I got an estimate and took the car back 2 weeks later to get a catalic converter replacement and also got a tune up. He even took it next door for us to get a smog "re-test". We paid $800 for everything and the car runs great and passed inspection. They seemed fair and honest and I will probably use them again. They alerted us of potential repairs with the car (stuff I already knew) but didn't pressure us to fix it. They had great service and it's hard to find good, honest and fair mechanics. After some inspection, they told me that the timing belt and water pump needed to be replaced and the valves were also needed to be repaired. And it took them 3 days to do all the work. 4 days after I picked up my car, I went back to their shop due to some starting problems on a busy Monday. They worked on my car immediately, figured out the problem and solved it within 20 minutes. Moved to the Valley a few years ago and needed a local mechanic for my VW, outside of the dealership. This shop caught my attention from all the high Yelp rating but I figure some of them might be friends and family but decided to give it a shot. One of the bigger jobs that I had done on my car from A Certified Autoworks (ACA) was an oil leak from the valve cover gasket. The issue caused me misfires as oil was leaking into some of the spark plugs and coils. The price was significantly lower than that of the dealership. The job was done in a fast manner. Fast forward 2 years and I decided to go to ACA for an oil change (slightly cheaper than dealer). I was warn that one of my CV boots was torn. Three weeks later I decided to bring it in for repair. There was some mishaps after I got my car back the following day but Eddie/Chad made sure the status of my car was up my standards. Overall, I am very pleased with the service provided by the shop owners. They are straight forward and up front about what needs to be fixed as well as the cost. I also had my spark plugs changed with the last job and there was no more oil on the plugs/coils! Will definitely come back for any future major repairs. read more

I had a major issue with my 2010 A4 and the after-market warranty did not want to cover (slimeballs - they better hope they don't have a Yelp because they're going to get a very unpleasant review from this guy), Chad helped me fight them and get them to pay for SOME of the work. He stayed in touch with me throughout the repairs keeping me updated if there was any delay.
