From the first call yesterday, Debbie (I believe) was patient, kind, and thorough. She priced out different options for me and gave me tips on how to optimize the services. This shop is a longer drive for me, but I will happily make it if their work is as good as their customer service.

Bryan working the counter quoted me about $1200 for the parts to be ordered and for labor. He said that I had shocks all the way around the Jeep. I said ok. I left a $600 deposit to have the parts ordered. When I came home, I doubled checked my research and noticed that I did in fact need Struts in the front of the Jeep and Shocks in the rear. I call back and spoke to Hiram, owners son. Told him what happened and when he looked into it advised me that the Bryan gave me prices on a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Mind you the"Kid" never ran my VIN or even my license plate. After Hiram, ran my plate, he stated that he would not UP CHARGE me on parts but would leave the labor cost as is, making the total about $1300-1400. I was fine with that. Two days later I drop off my Jeep to have the work done. They had the Jeep the WHOLE day and told me it would be ready by 4:45pm. I go in. Speak with Denise and she can not find my key. Bryan walks in and starts off with "Did Hiram call you"? After that I knew something was wrong. He stated that they could not do the REAR SHOCKS because they didn't know the Jeep used a certain shocks. He told me that the new shocks were $500 each not including labor. They did not find this out until after the Jeep was on the lift (30 minutes before me arriving). Keep in mind I got no call about this issue and had spoke to Hiram twice before picking up my Jeep. I know for a fact that they were not trying to eat the cost of a mistake that was made by their employee. The VIN was never ran nor was the License Plate. How are you working on vehicles and NOT KNOW what parts are needed for those vehicles. I doubt I will hear back from them and that's ok. I will never go back to Ramons again. And just for peace of mind.... This is the 1st review I have ever posted. Do your research. Check their work. If you don't feel right about it. Say something. Don't pay for someone else's mistake or lack of training.

Transmission Outlet was recommended via internet search and I was a little hesitant when I first pulled up base on just a garage and now real office. I told them we were on our way to El Paso and needed the a fix as soon as possible to get back on the road and I offered them $50 if they could expedite it. It was 1pm when I arrived and they closed at 5. They got the fluid replace along with a new filter by 4pm, explained everything that was done and we were back on the road and make it to El Paso by 10pm and ultimately to Dallas with no issues. They actually charged me less than their original estimate, which was very reasonable, and they refused to take the $50 cash for expediting the service. They could have very easily taken advantage of my situation, but they were extremely honest, courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend them especially if you are in a bind. Cheers

"In house" transmission…read morerebuild is a misnomer as the trans is rebuilt offsite with no ability to observe high end components ordered were actually used. In addition you would think they would at least hit the removed transfer case and trans mounting bolts with a wire brush for a light clean, not so as all those items were re-installed with caked on dirt.

After a few days they called me to pick it up after driving into the work I noticed the leak was still there looked like nothing had been fixed it was Friday and soonest I could bring it back was Monday. Over the weekend I realized they had left my radiator cap off and my car almost overheated. If I didn't have a gallon of water and my buddy following me I'm guessing my car would have been done. I took it back to have them fix the leak, they ended up fixing the leak and I asked them to consider what happened and call me. They never got back in touch and didn't even pay for the radiator cap I had to buy and the additional coolant they cost me. If they want to... seems they can do good work but seems they lack follow-up and customer service.

I would not recommend Atlas Transmission to anyone with Transmission issues. They charged me 275$…read moreto just look at my truck. When all other places usually will check it out for free. And once they did "look" at my truck all they said is that it smelt like burning liquid and the transmission needed to be rebuilt and my only two options was a dealer unit which was 8,200$ or a rebuild for 7,700$. I got a 2nd opinion and the mechanic stated that they didn't even attempt to refill it and test it. Once tested that my transmission was working fine with no other majors errors.

I had the displeasure of dropping off my Lexus for a transmission diagnostics…read more My Lexus has been having intermittent shifting issues; I have a code reader and the error code was P0761, a transmission shift solenoid code. I had heard good things through a local mechanic shop concerning Atlas, so I called Atlas Transmission and communicated the error code type and my desire for a diagnostic; basically, I need to determine whether I need a new transmission or whether the problem was more the shift solenoid/valve body. I was told no problem, diagnostics could be performed for $275. I dropped the car off, and the next day I get a call from Atlas stating that they will need to drop the transmission pan. I thought, "well of course they need to drop the pan, that is how you're going to determine root cause." I was then told that I would need to pay another $400 for them to take the pan off to complete diagnostics. So, nearly $700 to drop the transmission pan... (I should note that Atlas states they will take the "diag" fee of $275 off if you opt for them to perform repairs-sunk cost fallacy). Noticing that this was a deceptive practice, I immediately drove over to pick-up my vehicle and was told they can't release it unless I paid $275. I asked what I was paying for, and the receptionist said I was paying for an "electrical diag/code read" and "the mechanics time for driving the car around to confirm the code because he could have been working on other cars." So, I was given no new information, and was left where I had started. After I told them how deceptive this was and that I was not paying ~$300 to be told I have a shift solenoid code I had already given them, they lowered the price to $160. Great. The owner finally talked to me on the phone, and he was condescending, rude, and treated me like I was stupid for not asking enough questions about what "diagnostics" means. I thought diagnostics meant determining root cause of the error code, but I was wrong, apparently it means read codes, reset them, and drive the car around to confirm it was a mechanical issue. Thanks, I have already done that. It wasn't worth raising my voice on the phone over $160, so I ended up paying even though I received nothing of value. Tony, you should be ashamed. It will be awhile until I am able to return to work after a near fatal motorcycle accident, and it takes me a lot of energy to get out of the house and run errands when I should be resting; your shop misled me about your "diagnostics service" just to get a potential customer through the door. Your very professional and kind front desk receptionist, Amanda, is doing a lot of heavy lifting for you and the company, and I really hope you're compensating her well enough. I cannot speak to the quality of the repairs this shop performs, but I would not trust this shop to work on my vehicle after learning that an actual diagnostic costs ~ $700. Will not be recommending Atlas to anyone going forward.
