They charged $160 for a diagnostic which would be fine except I gave them the report from AutoZone who had run a diagnostic hours prior. And typically when you do the work, a garage will then credit that diagnostic fee to the work being done. They charged $604 total after I protested about the spark plug parts cost. Originally they wanted $200 for the spark plugs part. After protesting, they charged $176 for the Spark Plugs (parts) alone. $240 for the labor and $160 to diagnose something that was already diagnosed. When I told them the max fee for spark plus is $50, (I'm ok with companies marking-up costs but not at over 240%), they gave me $40 off. Still an astronomic cost for changing spark plugs, especially in Tucson. They did give me my car back in 1 day though, which I appreciated.

Other places wanted to do an inspection/diagnostic at their shop starting from $90 and up... many not even having that count towards service. Nick's overall cost with part was just over half what I looked at elsewhere... in some cases less than half. I already have a few future services planned with this mechanic... He advised me of costs and likely fixes for other issues for the future. Nick is a local young man building up a business and clientele via professional work conveniently done where you are at super rate... but mostly by word of mouth. I told him "I should have told you to kick rocks" being how rude and disrespectful he was being before during and after. We checked his vehicle and showed him exactly what happened and was very upset blaming us for a lower bushing going out..........THIS was the response from the owner. Trying to blame me for the issue. He was upset with me because I kept asking why they did not replace the bushing when he had it in the first time. He never would answer. Instead, he wanted to review the written estimate for a Transmission flush and ball joint sleeve for which I refused service because they were unnecessary for an alignment. They are both crooks and liars. They are nothing like the original owner. His name should not be used for their business.
