Does not care about customers. Took my wife's car in for a oil change and all the lights to be in working order. Then I get a call saying it needs all this other upscale air filter windshield wipers and motor mounts. They call me 2 days later everything's fixed except "what the lights haven't been fixed and guess what more money. This isn't the first time or even second time . Owner didn't want to hear about those. Offered no apology. He does not care about this city,people,or most importantly his customers. If you like throwing your money,time,and energy. I have reviewed their other location (Pantano) positively, and have moved on to this location for convenience. I've brought two vehicles in for several different services and they have fixed them up quickly and at a reasonable price. Also quite friendly and polite, and I appreciate their expertise with Mercedes Benz. I will keep coming here for my auto repair needs for sure, unless I buy a new vehicle with a factory warranty (which is unlikely given the crazy new car market pricing!) Installed a bad transmission and it broke 4 days later. Had to take it to a transmission shop for a diagnostic. They know it needed fixed because they emailed the diagnostic report since they aren't qualified to fix it and "warranty" says it needs to go to the dealership they've pretty much wiped their hands clean of the situations. I had to call both places multiple times for 11 weeks to get my van back. They took my money and basically pushing it on to everyone else to fix claiming "they've done everything possible". Also said the transmission was new and sold me on it, dealership told me it was a rebuild and when questioned they said they would look in to it and call me back. Still no call back. If you have a transmission problem DO NOT take it here, take it to someone who is actually qualified to install start to finish efficiently read more

This review is long overdue. I took my car in about two months ago for an issue that I attempted to do myself. When I went in to make an appointment, I told the representative at the counter what I had done already. He immediately said that when they replace the part I had already replaced, they usually replace a harness that goes with it. He asked me if I had replaced the harness, at which time I told him I had not. The day came when I dropped off my car for repair. I was called couple hours later and told that it was in fact the harness that was bad. He did not attempt to upsell anything , but they did tell me there were a couple other items that required attention on my car and to keep an eye on them. When they told me this, I first thought to myself, well here it comes. However, it did not. I had to wait for them to order the part because it was not something that anyone locally had in stock. When I took my car back for repair, it was done relatively quick at a price that was more than satisfactory. Everyone there was very professional, the shop was very clean, and the work was done in a very timely manner. I went there because my son has been going there when he needs repair work done. When I looked online I saw they had a 4.8 star review I was surprised because this is very uncommon for an auto repair shop. I would highly recommend Monsoon Automotive Repair to anyone. They are the nicest and most honest repair shop I have ever had. So many times in the past I have gone in for a oil change and they come back with a bill that is anywhere between 500.00-3000.00 to get these things fixed, which of course they noticed while doing a 30.00 oil change. I went out this morning to find that my truck would not budge due to a stuck emergency brake. I found Monsoon Automotive with a google search, and the reviews were great. Once I got my truck to them (thanks, Triple A), they took care of it right away, explained what was wrong, and even looked over my brakes to make sure all was in good shape. It look them a very short time, and no parts needed. Cost: NO CHARGE! That was enough to keep me heading back to them anytime something is needed. This is their second location in Tucson and closer to where I live. I have not used them before but decided to give them a try because of the great reviews they have been receiving at their other location. I took my 2007 Hyundai SantaFe in to have the AC checked since it was not cooling as it should. In addition I asked them to look into the AC controls as they are not working as they should. I had Hyundai attempt to fix this problem twice while under warranty and after out of warranty I gave up on them. The Monsoon technician determined that the AC was just low on coolant probably due to the fact that Hyundai had botched up the fix. Monsoon fixed what the dealership repair had messed up and now my AC works great. It took them several hours beyond what they anticipated to fix the wiring problem caused by Hyundai but they only charged me for the estimated amount they had given me. read more

I used Monsoon for the first time last week and was very impressed with their service and expertise. I was able to schedule service for my 2009 Mercedes E350 at my convenience. They looked at it right away when I came in, gave me the estimate and re-scheduled me for service a couple of days later, again at my convenience. Several days later I had a minor problem, called them and they looked at it that day. Problem solved. Dealing with Matt (the manager) and Rick (the owner) is very pleasant. I did not have a good experience with this shop. 2000 mustang trans dipstick tube seal - 49 cents from Oriellys. Shop put in my seal and charged $140, trans seal leaked terribly. Took pictures with my snake cam, showed they had not even cleaned the area, pulled debris into the seal when re-installing. They first said I needed a new trans dip-stick tube because it was bent...I asked how it got bent when it came in fine. Asked did they bend it when taking it out??? No response. I picked up a second O-ring and requested the area be cleaned and new seal be put in under workmanship warranty. I was then informed there was no warranty as they used my Part. I asked why was I not told this upfront? The guy said I thought somebody did...I let know he was the only one I had talk to - on the phone or in person. They picked up a $1 o-ring from Ford, cleaned, installed, no leak but charged me an additional $100. They did not return my second o-ring and this clearly shows the trans dipstick tube was not bent. They have a small plaque in their office about how to treat customers - maybe they should read it. Don't use these guys. read more

Great experience with these guys. Monsoon was recommended to me by one of the big chain service shops because they didn't have the capabilities. I initially dealt with Seth who was very helpful over the phone while I was doing some diagnostics of my own before bringing it in to the shop. I eventually took the vehicle in and dealt with Matt and Rick who again were obviously knowledgeable, and accommodated me in getting the vehicle looked at quickly as I was leaving town... To make a long story short, they fixed the problem at half the cost I was fully expecting to pay. I was so impressed, I brought another vehicle in a few days later, and again, they gave me an honest assessment (necessity and cost) on a few different repairs that the "big chain guys" were trying to sell me on. All said and done, over $1,000 saved, and the repairs that I did have done came in under other estimates I received... Friendly, honest mechanics who take pride in their ability to fix vehicles. That's a rarity these days. read more
