Did what was asked and the resulting TH700-R4 trans rebuild shifts well. "In house" transmission rebuild is a misnomer as the trans is rebuilt offsite with no ability to observe high end components ordered were actually used. In addition you would think they would at least hit the removed transfer case and trans mounting bolts with a wire brush for a light clean, not so as all those items were re-installed with caked on dirt. read more

I brought my car here for a transmission leak they were very up front and I was comfortable leaving my car with them and felt they would get it done. After a few days they called me to pick it up after driving into the work I noticed the leak was still there looked like nothing had been fixed it was Friday and soonest I could bring it back was Monday. Over the weekend I realized they had left my radiator cap off and my car almost overheated. If I didn't have a gallon of water and my buddy following me I'm guessing my car would have been done. I took it back to have them fix the leak, they ended up fixing the leak and I asked them to consider what happened and call me. They never got back in touch and didn't even pay for the radiator cap I had to buy and the additional coolant they cost me. I own a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel and often use it to pull a 7,000 lb travel trailer. Mileage is 225,000 miles. I recently returned from a trip with a slipping automatic transmission with shifting problems. I spoke with Matt and one of the owners and they recommended a transmission rebuild and an upgraded torque converter. Given the truck, their cost estimate was not cheap, however, I felt it was reasonable and gave them the go-ahead. They estimated it would take 7-10 days depending on parts availability. They kept me informed of their progress. I got the truck back in 8 days and they came in under the cost estimate. Although I was hesitant, after 50 miles of local driving, I took the truck and trailer on a 2000 mile trip through Colorado. The truck ran absolutely beautifully! There were no hiccups, shifting was smooth and powerful, overdrive shifting was perfect and there were no leaks. I am very happy!!! Clean shop. But, The owner completely disrespected a very simple request I had. I asked the owner, David, not to move my seat (it doesn't return forward all the way) I even walked out to my truck with him to reiterate my request. What does he do...David, the owner, MOVES MY SEAT (he didn't need to, I even remarked that we are around the same height, and "don't you hate it when car washes move your seat", I said that to him. The ONLY reason they are receiving 3 stars is because they went over the truck, and greased my front end parts for free, that was VERY COOL of them. But when you ask someone, much less the owner, three times not to move your seat, and they proceed to move it, you have to wonder how the repairs will turn out. read more

I have a 2000 GMC Yukon with 175K that burned up 3rd and 4th gear in the tranny. I did a search on Yelp for dependable and reputable auto mechanics and Transmissions Unlimited popped up with the best reviews. Right off the bat I was pleased. The hours posted said they didn't open until 0800 but at 0730 I called just to see if maybe I could leave a message but no, Darryl answered and had me bring it on in. I had it towed in and gave him the details as to what was going on and he took the keys and told me he'd call me back with a diagnosis. He called be a few hours later with the news. He gave me details, explained the mechanics of a transmission and gave me a wag for an estimate; he said he'd know more once he got inside of it. He called back the next day and told me that I needed to have my tranny rebuilt. He said he pulled several malfunction codes on it and that it needed to be rebuilt. He gave me a quote and how long it'd take. He called a few days later to update me, then called again when the job was done. There were no surprises, they included my military discount, they were on time and extremely friendly, professional, and explained everything to a T. In a world where good service and fair pricing are rare, this place is a gem. I took my TJ over to have a leak in the transmission/ transfer case area diagnosed and was treated like I had been a customer for years. Darryl ,the manager, who very was friendly and courteous took the time to go over all my options and pricing. After I explained that was looking to install a lift kit in the very near future, he referred me to speak to David the owner, who is also a TJ owner, to explain what recommendations would be most cost effective. Davids knowledge about Jeeps in general was remarkable and his suggestions were amazing. Now I have the all the leaks fixed AND have my jeep ready for the lift kit, all at a very reasonable price. Not to mention David diagnosed a fuel system problem I was having at the same time and I'm not sure he even charged for that. I cannot say enough about what a great find this shop was. My first experience with D.P.Wolf, he was working for another shop. The trany on my buick regal was dying fast and it was another blistering summer. Called a shop from the yellow pages and D.P. answered. I was low on cash and moral, but D.P. worked with me and I ended up with a solid rebuilt and was very happy. That was trany #1. He opened his own business and with my work trucks and personal vehicles over the next 15 years, D.P. did 3 more projects,all reliable and problem free. I sent a buddy over there and as he drove away, not 10 miles, and his transmission case cracked and lost parts on the road.
