I went in to Ramon's because my Dad has been doing business with them for over 20 years. I wanted to get new Struts and Shocks for my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee 80th Anniversary. Bryan working the counter quoted me about $1200 for the parts to be ordered and for labor. He said that I had shocks all the way around the Jeep. I said ok. I left a $600 deposit to have the parts ordered. When I came home, I doubled checked my research and noticed that I did in fact need Struts in the front of the Jeep and Shocks in the rear. I call back and spoke to Hiram, owners son. Told him what happened and when he looked into it advised me that the Bryan gave me prices on a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Mind you the"Kid" never ran my VIN or even my license plate. After Hiram, ran my plate, he stated that he would not UP CHARGE me on parts but would leave the labor cost as is, making the total about $1300-1400. I was fine with that. Two days later I drop off my Jeep to have the work done. They had the Jeep the WHOLE day and told me it would be ready by 4:45pm. I go in. Speak with Denise and she can not find my key. Bryan walks in and starts off with "Did Hiram call you"? After that I knew something was wrong. He stated that they could not do the REAR SHOCKS because they didn't know the Jeep used a certain shocks. He told me that the new shocks were $500 each not including labor. They did not find this out until after the Jeep was on the lift (30 minutes before me arriving). Keep in mind I got no call about this issue and had spoke to Hiram twice before picking up my Jeep. I know for a fact that they were not trying to eat the cost of a mistake that was made by their employee. The VIN was never ran nor was the License Plate. How are you working on vehicles and NOT KNOW what parts are needed for those vehicles. I doubt I will hear back from them and that's ok. I will never go back to Ramons again. And just for peace of mind.... This is the 1st review I have ever posted. Do your research. Check their work. If you don't feel right about it. Say something. I was told to try this place by a transmission shop. The front desk employee, she was very helpful and nice. Great customer service as I walked in. I took my truck to get a catylic converter check done. My truck passed the test so they saved me some good money that I didn't have to waste. If I could give this place a zero I would. I went here to get my catalytic converter replaced, they welded on a piece of junk, not to mention their welding looks like a 2 year old did it. They had to modify the cat on my car and broke the heat shield. The heat shield was banging under my car making a terrible noise. I called to get it checked out and they proceeded to tell me how it's in perfect condition. I had to to get really loud with them in order for them to fix the mess they had caused to my car. They tried to make me feel stupid about how the car isn't broken. And they tired to talk down on me saying I dont know what I'm talking about and that they had nothing to do with why my car makes loud banging sounds. I told them time and time again that this happened immediately after I left their shop. They ended up having to install a new cat and it hasn't made noise since. The welding is still very much terrible. Not to mention The front desk lady was very rude, and very dismissive. Has no customer service whatsoever. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND doing your research before coming here. They thought they could scam a young girl, but they highly were mistaken with the knowledge that I have about cars and what my family has as well. I took my vehicle in for what I perceived to be a radiator problem, although I wasn't sure if it was something more. They called to inform me that it was, in fact, the radiator. They fixed my vehicle in a timely manner and gave me a cheaper quote than the three to four other shops I had called. My car is holding up nicely, and I've had no problems with it thus far. I have had 2 jobs done at this shop. One involving the repair of a muffler heat shield. The other, completed last week, involved solving an annoying problem I caused myself with stripped out bolts on my skid plate. Both jobs were completed quickly, courteously, economically and professionally. I have had no problems with the work that was done. The only glich that occurred last week was they could not process my credit card because their system was down. I will still give them 5 Stars. Going make this short and to the point .. AC in my 2004 odyssey has been acting up for over a year..Most estimates were north of 300 to fix.. This summer AC decided to give up the ghost. Blowing out heat from hell ..Called Ramons at 100 pm asked if they could look at it give me at least an estimate on cost and time frame for repairs. I was told bring it in and they'll at least would be able to look at. Within 15 mins. there was a tech working away on my van. I was told that Heater control switch was out and I needed freon NOT a total recharge just some added.. Frank said they couldn't locate the part today but a quick fix would be to by pass it till I wanted to use my heater in Tucson i never want to use my heater 2 hours later AC was fixed and working great.. You want a fast reliable and honest autoshop this is the place. They only fixed what needed to be fixed, didn't try to offer repairs that for things that MIGHT need to be repaired or replaced as two other shops " recommended " The front desk staff was both friendly and open to conversation. I found Ramon's 15 years ago googling for a radiator repair that was nearby. I was young and broke and needed a car for commuting. They actually took me out into the yard to show me the repairs that were needed. They also gave me options and set up a maintenance plan so we could fix the problems but also get me back on the road quickly. I have never taken my cars anywhere else since that day. This place is awful and I'm convinced it's a chop shop. I have had to take my car back multiple times due to their carelessness. I brought my car there because it was stalling when driven. They charged me for a diagnosis and claimed they drove the car around and it showed no problems. Before I even get it home it breaks down. They lied saying they drove it around town for 3 hours and it didn't stall, yet the mileage was still the same as when I brought it in. My car sat there for another week and each time i called for an update not one person knew what was going on. Recently when working on my car i found out the part they were supposed to fix was taken off of a uhaul. DO NOT take your car to this chop shop, they will break other things in your car to keep you coming back.
