On a recent dog rescue trip, my tail pipe on my ONAN generator broke--in NM in 113 heat of all things. Luckily I found a store and put a temp muffler bandage on it. But I needed it Fixed right. I didn't want to even try a Midas or other shop as this work would be custom. I got into Discount Muffler quickly and got a tech who was OUTSTANDING in understanding the situation (e.g running diesel generator mounted on trailer A frame, moving relative to each other, but crucial for the power for the a/c for the rescued dogs). Not only did he fix quickly and professionally, but he installed a flex pipe to help with the relative movement as the tail pipe had to attach to both the generator and the trailer as well. Hello fellow tellers! Firstly, if you are using anyone but these guys for your automotive needs, you're messing up. Extremely fair pricing, fantastic service, and A++ work! I have used them previously for a custom exhaust and they knocked it put for the park, but more recently they literally saved the day! I was having some crazy grinding noises coming out of my 1962 Impala, I took it to a transmission shop that shall remain unnamed, they told me it wasn't my transmission, but my rear end that was causing the problem, and that they would need $400 additional dollars to remove and inspect... I told them I wanted to get a second opinion, I took it over to discount muffler and they informed me it was simply a loose wheel!! They easily could have charged me and said they did something to it, but they didn't, this level of honesty and attention to detail is why I won't take any of my vehicles anywhere else. I've now taken several vehicles here, and everything is always great! They are so cheap you almost wonder how other places even compete. However, that doesn't impact the products or the quality of work that they do. In the odd chance that something goes wrong, they are more than willing to fix their mistakes, quickly and at no additional cost. I took my Audi there to have an custom exhaust made. I almost bought a premade, but it was $1200, so I wanted to get a quote from them. $300. Yeah, $300 for a custom 3" exhaust, including muffler, with twin chrome tips that you can't discern from factory Audi. Keep in mind the added intricacy of working on a tiny TT, that has a bunch of AWD parts to work around! That's why the premade was so expensive. 50,000 miles later, that exhaust is still on my car, with no leaks. Would recommend. read more

We tried to get left and right full catalytic converter pipes installed. One was a factory pipe and the other was a MagnaFlow. Apparently, Discount Muffler hate it when you bring in your own parts for installation. The service person at the front desk went from rude to hostile when asked about filling out the warranty installation certificate for the Magnaflow muffler. Tucson is too big of a place to have to tolerate this type of customer service. This was a $330 installation and we just walked out rather than be further abused. read more

The bolts on the exhaust manifold on my RV broke and it sounded like I was driving an Indy car. I was concerned about valve damage on my engine as well. I talked with multiple repair shops and none of them could get me on their schedule. Since I was traveling, I couldn't hang around for a week. Katrina was able to get me in the next day, and the technicians were able to make the repair at a very fair rate. I've since driven a thousand miles without any further problems. After realizing I did not have the time to handle doing the Clutch on my 2000 Corvette I asked Javier at Discount if he would handle it for me as I trust his work. He took excellent care of me with swapping out the old one so it could be sent off for warranty and making sure everything was ready to go with the replacement. We also took a look at the AC and after replacing a line found out the Compressor was on it's way out. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. I was shopping for a low resistance muffler for my car. I called a few other places. They weren't very helpful. The lady who answered the phone told me to look at brand X or Y Go to youtube and listen with earbuds to see if that's the sound I like. I decided on brand X with wide chrome tips. The installer said if it was his car with what I have on it he'd go with brand Y and took the time to show me the difference. He also wanted me to know if I go with the longer chrome tips they will stick out past the end of my car and I'd probably bump my leg on them when I go to the trunk. He also let me look at the setup before he welded it together. 10+ for customer service! read more

The last time we were here was 2012. In about 2009. We came to fix a noise problem, referred by a friend, they found that two screws were missing. Issue was Immediately resolved and it was a cheap and ez fix. It was because a relative had taken it to Econolube for service in which they removed the screws and didn't put em back. I suggest not going to Econolube. The only issue is the front-desk red-head is rude & needs to watch her mouth & attitude. read more

DON'T TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!! Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service from KATRINA! I called on the phone for a simple quote and was very polite, even though Katrina put me on hold, picked the phone up 3 times and tried calling a #, until she realized I was still there and hung up on me. I still took my car there and she was even ruder in person. She told me that I probably had the wrong part (even though I ordered from the VIN #), then cross referenced it and told me it was right. I left on foot, she then waited 2 hours to call and tell me that it was now the wrong part and they couldn't do it. She told me that she could get the right catalytic converter for $730! I paid $225, I took it to there other location on S. Craycroft and Kevin changed it for $50 less-with NO PROBLEM! He did an awesome job, painted the new one and even diagnosed the check engine light! I'll be back to see him in the future, but KATRINA should not be a Service Advisor, I know, I was one for over 10 years. She is worthless!!! read more
