This is for my daughters service 2019 Honda Civic Complaint: transmission shifts poorly in the morning. A/C not that cold. Resolution: service A/C system with some freon, little low. Remove pack rat nest and voila trans shifts fine. The reason for this post is that my daughter's experience was so pleasant because of the management's honesty and the positive interaction she had with everyone. Potentially the trans problem could've been sold as a clutch problem or cable problem. The A/C problem had been taken to the local stealership and they wanted $2500 to fix the problem. All the staff at Micro Imports are worth the time to leave this review, because they take care of for cars well. They listen to understand why you are bringing your car in for service and speak the language of import brands. You know the "I hear this sound or that sound. I feel this when I turn this way or that". If there is a problem with our car they fix it. Are they "cheap?" "Are they expensive?" The answer is they have fair pricing with honest service. We've trusted them to maintain our Nissan 2011 Rogue and Lexus 1999 RX300 since moving to Tucson a few years ago. They've maintained and fixed everything from brakes, radiators, air conditioners, and even helped replace the sun visors in the Nissan. They don't make up problems to fix. They will inform and advise when something should be fixed. I mean it's important to us to have well running cars where we don't break down in the Tucson heat or get stranded in the monsoon rainy season. Micro is like the Dr. for our cars- need a check up? Sure jiffy lube is convenient but we always try to schedule even the basic oil change with them. "Call Micro" is our motto." or "Call Allen." Micro deserves our 5 star rating. Allen should get at least 6 stars. He has treated us as a valued customer over the years and not taken our patronage as a given. He continues to save us time and money by staying informed of vehicle recalls covered by the dealership instead of doing a service to get that extra $$. I have mixed emotions about sharing this fantastic review with you all, because once you are informed of how amazing this establishment is, it'll be even harder for me to get an appointment. Let's just say I would sleep in my car overnight if it would ensure I'd have it worked on by Micro Import Service. I have had several fantastic experiences with them, which amazingly started with my first interaction when I was not even sure I was going to get my car repaired or buy another instead. This did not deter everyone at Micro from giving me 100% of their full attention . I went to them originally after three other mechanics were unable to determine what the cause of a horrible rattling and shimmying was in my 2005 Nissan 350Z. When I walked in the door, I was told that the owner was a Z fanatic, and that he would probably know what was up right away. Mick was on his way home, leaving for the day, when someone caught him and he very happily took a ride with me down and around Speedway Boulevard. He pretty much knew what the problem was, but he was gonna have his incredible mechanic Howard take a look at it. And even though upon leaving I still hadn't committed to getting the work done at all, or there, the service manager, Alan, sent me home with a beautiful "welcome to the family" gift bag filled with all sorts of useful items, including a $20 coupon off of my repair. I decided to get the job done there and I have been back several times since, including for a major overhaul of my suspension. After that, my almost 20 year old Z hasn't driven this well in a decade. I cannot gush enough about the quality of the work and the quality of the staff of this organization from the very affable David at the front desk who makes my day every time I go there even if I'm fearing the worse about my vehicle. Alan is an amazing guy, and we have had multiple discussions where he has been advising me in my potential pending purchase of a new vehicle, and has promised to give any car I may be interested in the once over with a fine tooth comb before I buy it. I just switched from a German car to a Japanese car and had no idea who could work on it in Tucson. After checking out some great reviews and finding these guys are not too far from my home, I gave them a call. They are extremely helpful, were happy to check out my car and give me an honest review of what it needed. They prioritized most-important repairs to least important and did absolutely zero up-selling or trying to have me do anything that was not necessary. Very honest people. They have a nice waiting area with WiFi and free coffee if you wanna hang out for a bit, otherwise would also provide free transportation to and from your home. I was very happy with my radiator job on my Toyota as it was fairly priced and they used quality parts with a warranty to back it up! Very impressed and very pleased with the service from this shop. I feel the cost of certain services at this shop are more than excessive. My wife was quoted $116 to replace the cabin air filter in her vehicle, among other super expensive recommendations (shocks front and rear for thousands.) Thank goodness she called around before committing to the recommended work. The cabin air filter took her 3 minutes to replace at a cost of $21. We also had the Subaru dealership take a look at our suspension and their shop foreman said the suspension was fine. Do not recommend! read more

My dealership was booked before a big trip, so I had to scramble to find someone to do my 60k mile service. A few searches for Subaru service in Tucson, and this is one of few places that consistently came up with good feedback. I called for a quote, and the energy and kindness I received from this shop was unlike any other. Decided to go with my gut and it paid off. These guys were honest, praised my car :), and were honestly just nice and really easy to talk to. My services took about all day, but I received calls for updates and questions throughout. Their communication style is very clear! They used OEM parts if any replacements. They made sure I knew that the car didn't necessarily need all the services I was asking for (could've saved if I skipped a few inspections/changes), but I wanted to be strict with the maintenance schedule while I'm on warranty. Very pleased with my service at Micro today. My Mazda had an oil change and it was done in a timely manner. The customer service I received was top notch. I used to be one of those people that would clip coupons for a $16 oil change but that ended one day when my car had steam coming from the engine on my drive home from an oil change. Oil had leaked all over my engine that day and I had to drive it right back to the place to have the problem corrected. Micro has a great reputation, which is what brought me there. I will now be making recommendations to friends regarding taking their cars there too. The oil change costs $29.95 and well worth every penny. read more

First of all, I would like to say a HUGE thank you to David, from the minute I called, he did his best to get me into the shop asap, even though they were booked out a week in advance. We made an appointment for Thursday, and I towed my car in on Wednesday. He called back on Wednesday diagnosing the issues and by Thursday, my car was ready for pick up. He and the team were able to have my car OUT on the day it was supposed to go IN. I was so worried about finding a new mechanic as I have made the switch from an American brand to a Japanese brand, and with the lack of trustworthy places in town.. it's safe to say I've found my new shop and I couldn't be happier. If you want people who care, who are honest, and people who do their best to get things done right AND on time, then this is your place. I can't recommend this place enough. Being a woman AND someone who knows nothing about cars, I'm used to be condescended to or cheated by mechanics because that seems to be how they roll, but that's not true here. Everyone is friendly and helpful, especially Alan, and I appreciate that they understand that a student making minimum wage is not someone who can just blow thousands on one car repair--even though being a student and minimum wage worker also means my car is an old piece of crap. They've always been upfront about which repairs are essential NOW and which can hold off a bit, what order would be best to do things in as far as safety, etc. They always include a ride home and back again if you don't want to wait there for your car to be serviced, and unlike some other places I've been (*coughsatMeineke*), they will regularly keep you apprised if they're going to take longer than expected or if they find things they think needs to be fixed. As a bonus, they send a calendar out each month with fun bonus advice about cars and specials, like $20 off X service or free oil change if you have this or that number and letter combination in your license plate, etc. The waiting room is clean and bright, with coffee. These guys were exactly what I needed when I got an engine light on in the middle of a very long road trip and on a deadline to get back home. They saw me first thing in the morning when I just showed up and put the car on a scope a immediately, understanding my anxiety about how big a problem it might be. They did a nice quick oil change for me. Not a 5-star rating because: the "next service by" sticker they put in the windshield says to come back in 3000 miles, even though I got full synthetic oil and the manufacturer recommendation is every 5000 miles. The printed receipt got the 5000 mile part right. Mistake? Maybe, but a convenient one that would have me purchase their services more frequently than needed. Of course, they also wanted to sell me a cabin air filter for $40, but I new better, and went to an auto parts store and got it for $20. The upsell was not high-pressure, though, so only minor points off for that. Would give 4 1/2 stars if I could. read more

I've taken all three of our vehicles here- two old toyotos (83 and 85) and a Subaru Impreza 2004 and they've always delivered. They are fantastic at communicating the issues, very helpful in providing service recommendations, and fair on pricing. I have to add an anecdote that will help make it clearer how good they are overall. I took my old work truck into them to adjust the carb so it would pass emissions. I told them my timeline and budget. They did their work. It failed. They tried again, and again it failed. They recommended some new plugs, distributor cap, and a few other things to make it pass. It failed. At this point they are behind on schedule, over budget, and haven't done anything for me. So, they said, leave it for 24 more hours and we'll make it happen- all free of charge. So, the next day they start working early and take it in for the third time. Againl, it failed. At this point they are baffled and I'm pretty upset. They say we're going to give it one more shot at the other testing facility because they numbers we're getting at 22nd don't match ours. So Nathan drives it up himself on his lunch hour to Prince road. It PASSES. They spent well over 8 hours of time trying to make things right for me at no charge and in the end it was the MVD that was to blame. Great people to work with. I brought my '98 Subaru Forester to Micro Import while living in Tucson for a few years, and was very pleased at the honesty and service. I was having various problems with this car at the time, unfortunately with the transmission, and when I came to pick it up after having it looked at, one of the head guys working there (I regret I forget his name) basically sat me down and said: "Look, I don't do this very often, and I don't like to do this, but I would highly recommend not fixing this car." Needless to say, I was a bit shocked and worried, but he did a great job of calming me down and explaining the many problems my car had by showing me a list of what I would need to fix and how much it would cost. He also said that if I had the money, they could make it like new, but given the age and the 150,000+ miles on it, he highly recommended I invest that in a newer car. He even gave me some tips on the best way to get the value for my car based on his own experience. I really felt like I was in good hands, and had I had $7K to spend, I would have let these guys fix it, hands down. But I don't know many mechanics who would actually turn away your business by telling you not to fix your car. That's how I knew these guys were good. They completely replaced my transmission fluid for around $200-300 and wished me luck, offering help anytime I needed it. I very much appreciated their honesty and customer rapport, and would recommend them without question. Not sure you're gonna find much better in Tucson. Side note: They called me a few months later to remind me to get an oil change, and sent me coupons in the mail for their services. By that point, I had already traded in my Forester for a newer car, but I still thought it was nice :) read more

I went to them to diagnose a rough running engine and figured I'd get an oil change while there. They told me the engine was running fine. They gave me a long list of repairs that I needed totaling well over $2000 dollars. I went to another garage and had the work done for half that, and it still didn't fix the original problem. I finally went to the dealer and they replace the left front motor mount. The car runs fine now. Micros reported that the motor mounts were sagged ( but didn't notice that according to the dealer one was fine, and the other broken, so that the engine was resting on the frame, and impeding the axle). They did not impress me, and charge a lot. Makes me wonder about all the good reviews on Yelp, and their prominent placement, when looking for auto repair on this site. read more

These people are sooo nice! Hospitality is their gift! They have great waiting rooms and it is very welcoming. I appreciate this because I live on the North side and have not been able to find a place that I want to take my car to on this side of town. If you don't believe me, what other shop do you know serves pastries to their customers! They have a Kuerig but if you don't play around, you can even use their espresso machine to get your jolt while you wait for your car! They also have a service to drop you off or pick you up if you need it! I had an oil change and asked them to give my car a once over and when I realized I was running late they sped up the job. This was my own fault of course, planning to many things too close! The only thing I am hesitant about is after all was said and done and seemed great, I spoke with my friend and he said that my battery, which they told me would need to be replaced soon, said that he didn't see a problem. Now here is the main key info about my friend - he is not a mechanic, but I trust him. I figured I may get a second opinion just to be sure, although my impression of their work is still outstanding and they are very nice. I think if I hadn't had to rush them through the rest of the inspection, I may feel more comfortable. But I think as a woman, this goes with the territory of taking your car to any shop. Are you getting swindled? Or can I trust this guy? These people? They do have a woman working there and I met the owner, and they all seemed nice enough. Nice as they are, can I trust the work? I must admit, I went there because of all the favorable reviews! But the verdict is still out for me! read more

Excellent local shop, does quality work! They were able to identify ALL of the various issues my truck had, when other shops missed them or lied about issues that didn't exist. They identified and fixed my bad power steering pump, and then also noticed the oil valve leak, noisy transmission pump (Aastro, a dedicated transmission shop, couldn't even identify what the noise was coming from!), bad bushings on my steering rack, noisy drive belt, etc. Really great shop. They do such an excellent job, and catch so many things that other shops miss. And they don't lie telling you that you need something done! read more

All in all it was a great experience, they arranged a rental car, took me to the rental place, and ran me back after I dropped off my car. The maintenance was done right and they even reset the service indicator unlike many of the previous places I have taken my car to. After a series of problems at Precision Toyota, I opened up Yelp to find the highest reviewed Japanese car servicer in Tucson. I am so glad I did! Ever since making the switch I've been given completely honest inspections and great service. I took my car in the first time complaining about squeaking in the struts and brakes. The certified technicians at Micro checked out my car and reassured me the minor squeaking was not signs of a bigger problem. I came prepared to spend a fortune, and they told me they suggested holding off on the work. After taking my car in for an oil change last week and having another inspection done, they still told me my car was in great shape. These guys are fast, efficient, thorough and courteous. I like the ability to schedule my appointments online through their website, and they are willing to work with you to reschedule if something comes up. The level of service they provide in the bay is exceptional. Every time I've taken my car into them, they have addressed every issue I mentioned and updated me on the condition of many other aspects of my car. The service you get at the front desk is just as good and goes beyond any level of customer service I ever received from Precision Toyota. The staff is friendly, they follow up when they say they will, make sure you understand what is happening and just give excellent service. It is no wonder Micro has been around since the 70's! Decent repair place but overpriced for me. I took our RAV4 here a few times and it got serviced fine and the folks were professional and courteous. A couple of quibbles - last time I was there the mechanic's recommendation was to replace my front struts since they were very noisy. This after I told them that the wheel covers were noisy and they would need to be replaced soon. Later, I removed the defective wheel covers and the noise went away! This is a very typical issue with 2007-2010 RAVs that came with a certain type of chrome wheel cover. Seems like a miss? My car was returned with a part on top of the hood near the windshield - I did not notice it till I got home. I still don't know what it's to but I'll let Toyota tell me; hopefully they don't charge me an arm and a leg. Good thing is it still runs fine but that's something I expect to do when I fix something, not a pro! They do charge a premium, which I'd be fine with paying for exceptional work. But since they follow Toyota's maintenance manual recommendations, products and prices, I'm going to take my car to the dealer. read more

Mike and Tony were really good to us. We had an emergency and they fit us in on a Friday for an estimate. We needed major repairs and they were kind enough to accommodate us. When the best option became shipping the truck back home to Texas, they babysat it until the shipper could pick it up. They went above and beyond for us and we're kinder than they needed to be. I took my car two times here, and both times I got a great service. I was amazed that when they told me they would need to keep my car for the day, they asked me if I wanted them to take me to my home from the office. They are very assertive, and their sales representatives are just top notch. My repairs were a bit expensive, but the car drove like silk afterwards. I'm definitely taking my car here for the next service. My partner and I live in the same neighborhood as Micro. Wake up many mornings to their garage doors opening. We have brought our vehicles here several times for repairs/check ups... We won't be returning for numerous factors. I've spent thousands there over the last two years. They seem quick to provide a laundry list of costly mechanical recommendations even when not needed. Recently had other mechanics find some of the work they did just last year already needing replacement. Last time in a pinch, they would not check out my partners vehicle without her paying the 140$ diagnostic fee. Her issue was simply a fuse that she herself found had got dislodged. Took a minute to fix once she personally researched where her fuse box for the hybrid system was. Something they could have checked on in a sec or recommended she do personally. Definitely not neighborly. I think they are a decent outfit, little pricey, but overall ok. Just not good enough for me and my family anymore. read more
