The extent of my knowledge of automotive repair is how to check fluids, change my oil or a tire. Beyond that, I turn to Friendly. Over the last 7 years I have tried a number of local & national chain repair shops, but once I tried Friendly, I stopped looking. If the name of your business boldly implies how you treat your customers, you best do it & they do! Their quotes are fair, yet comprehensive, their attitude is (you guessed it) friendly and their work is prompt and well done. What more could you ask for? This year on Yelp I want to find all the good businesses in the area and highlight them and Friendly Automotive is one of the first that came to mind. Find them off of Ina Road, not too far from I-10. They're tucked into a hodge podge of small businesses. In business for 25 years in Arizona and take care of all makes & models of cars. I have been taking my 2011 Buick enclave to these guys for a couple years now. I absolutely love them! It says it in the name. They are super friendly. Blue is a great guy and knows his stuff. They do very very thorough work on your car and they don't push on you. They tell you what NEEEDS to be done and what can wait. Cat and Ashley are very sweet and help sort out your schedule and they do have a shuttle to get you to work. (They can't grantee you get to work on time but you'll get there lol) although their pricing has gone up a bit in diagnostic fee I don't care (99) to (125) because I know they do great work and they honor warranty on batteries! I also love the detailed report with pictures they provide. It allows me to show my dad lol who will tell me if we can fix it on our own or if we should just let them do it cause it's a lot of work. They were FANTASTIC, I was driving up to Phoenix and my car overheated in Marana from a bad radiator fan. They ran a correct diagnosis. CAT (I believe was her name) greeted me and was so nice! BLUE mainly helped me out and was great with explaining exactly what went wrong with my car. Nicest people ever working there. They even had someone drop me off at the Hotel. Blue told me that he knew my checkout time at my Hotel would be around 11am and that he would have it done by noon and he did! Amazing Customer Service!! Excellent (and fast) service! I was able to conveniently schedule my oil change online (and mentioned their coupon!) I received a text to confirm my appointment request was accepted. I showed up a little early so I was quoted about an hour. Within 20 minutes they were going over the included multi-point inspection with me and letting me know it would be off the lift and ready in a few minutes! Super friendly and honest service! My car is only 3 years old so the only additional recommendation was an air filter. Lobby was clean, comfortable and COVID friendly. Lots of antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer available, (and they said to let them know if I needed any additional). Complimentary water and wifi! WOW- the new store manager (I believe his name was Bobby) and Ashley easily lived up to the exceptional customer service stated on their website. I live in Vail and I was driving my daughter to a campus visit in Flagstaff this past Friday. We hit the Twin Peaks exit and our AC out of nowhere stopped working. Of course it was almost a 100 degrees out and we still had a long way to go. We went to the closest Autozone and than a Firestone and asked if they could just check the fuses; they refused and said I would need to come back next Thursday and of course I started to panic. Long story short, I called Friendly and asked if they had anyone that could just check the fuses. Ashley said we can't do a full AC diagnostic but they could at least take a look a the fuses and give it a quick look over. Needless to say, it wasn't a fuse but the manager tried one other thing and got it working again. I was so relieved I almost started to cry. THANK YOU Friendly for going that extra mile; otherwise, we may have had to turnaround and miss this all important visit. My daughter had her campus visit and learned on Sat she was accepted to this college. YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE and impacted my daughters future!! Although we live in Vail, we will be back. My family has used Friendly Automotive for some time now and have spent well lover a grand in repairs for a cousin's used car from Michigan that sputtered and leaked oil, yet he needed it done within 48 hours to get back to his job ride share delivering. I depend on the competency of the Maintenance Technicians to find exactly what is wrong the FIRST time. The Techs send the information the Customer service reps (Who are extremely Patient, Friendly, and Knowledgeable ) and they break down what REALLY needs to be fixed, and what can wait. Once again, I had the opportunity to use the services of Friendly Auto, but this time on an emergency basis. My car wouldn't start and had to be flat-bedded to their facility from my garage. Johnathan and his staff diagnosed the problem and made the necessary adjustments-all in the same day. The price was more than fair, the service was outstanding, and the courtesy was much appreciated. How does this awesome auto shop not have any reviews? So look, if I remember right, it's there used to be another garage there: Guggenheim or something like that: a German-named auto shop. Think I took the Jeep there once, nothing good came of it. I could be wrong, of course. My memory could be skewed-- I've avoided the area because it's just not on my normal route. But now there's Friendly Automotive. I can give a guarantee that they live up to that name in absolute spades. Thursday evening, last week, I got home and the lever handle inside my car attached to the driver's door jammed and broke. Twisted my back trying to crawl out of my car. Didn't occur to me to open my car window and open the door from the outside. But, when it was suggested to me, I found that I had a viable way of getting out of my car without killing my back. Then on Friday, I went to my car after work and the outside handle looked funny. Trying to open the door, the handle came off. No joke. The tow truck (thank God for AAA) took me to Friendly's who'd been recommended to me by Gerber's Auto and Glass. I'm so glad I went to Friendly's. I'm so fortunate that I lucked out that night and they were still open a bit past closing time. And they were friendly and professional, taking the time to explain everything to me even though I was tired and probably didn't understand half of what the owner? Manager? John was saying. They were even able to fix the engine light problem that the AAA Garage tried three times (all failures) to fix! And it didn't take a ton of time, either. First time there. I was met at the counter by Leonardo. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I made arrangements to leave my car for an oil maintenance and possibly brakes. Leonardo told me what they would do and get back to me later in the day. He did contact me with info on the condition of the specs of my brakes and an estimate for repair. The estimate seemed reasonable and fair. The work was performed and the cost was a little lower than the estimate. The results were perfect too. Breath of fresh air! I took my truck in to have a tire mounted and balanced, I had already been turned away from a nearby independent shop because I already had the tire. Was greeted by Ashley, she is pleasant and knowledgeable. Had tire mounted and out the door in less than an hour and I did not have an appointment. The best thing is they didn't try to up sell! I've gone to Friendly Automotive in the past and have always had GREAT service! The prices are also AT LEAST $5.00 to $10.00 cheaper than Firestone and the staff is A LOT friendlier. The team at Friendly are indeed very friendly. Better than that their communicative and HONEST. And better still, they stand by their work and own up to mistakes. Took my dad's car in for brakes. The new rear drum brakes came from the parts supplier warped and they made adjustments. The adjustments weren't enough so I called them back a few days later and they got me in right away and fixed them quick. This wonderful auto shop is deserves some high praise for living up to its name.  My daughters and I were traveling to the Tucson area from out-of-state when the "low coolant" indicator came on.  Because I recently had a major service done at home, I was concerned there was a potential coolant leak or something similar that would prevent us from returning home safely. I found Friendly Automotive online and stopped by on my way out of town.  I was greeted right away and, once I explained my situation, Jonathan provided a thorough examination of my coolant levels, radiator and anything else easily visible under the hood.  His diagnosis was very helpful he topped my coolant level off free of charge and sent me on my way.  As a mom traveling on a solo out-of-state road trip with my two young daughters, I can't express how thankful I was for such kind and reassuring treatment.  We are now back home, safe and sound, and I can't help but wish there were more small businesses like Friendly Automotive and genuine servicemen like Jonathan.  Both are hard to find nowadays, and I can say with utmost conviction that if I lived in the Tucson area, Friendly Automotive would be my go-to shop.  Thank you, Jonathan!!  :-) read more
