Jason and his team really know their stuff. I've only needed them a few times since I started taking my truck to them about a year ago. I have come to have a high regard for their knowledge and skill. My truck is now performing at its best. Thanks guys! read more

I have used Az Affordable Diesel for my truck's maintenance and repair for 3 yrs now and LOVE this shop. I really trust Mel and the gang. It may not be the cheapest (any truck maintenance is expensive), but they do quality work. They try to clean/fix rather than repair to keep the cost down. I feel my truck is ready for action after this, and I really need my truck to work. I will return again for my next appointment in Tucson! read more

great service everything is done in a very professional manner the only place for diesel repair I also took my wife's mustang gt there for a oil change read more

Great customer service, top notch mechanics, and fair prices!!! Try them out you will not be disappointed. Best diesel shop in Tucson.

This shop is the SHIT!!! My 2001 f250 7.3l has been transformed and taken care of by Ronnie and the guys. Let me tell you, they don't mess around. I have no leaks, truck moves like I need it to. And I'm way happy. I'll recommend and keep returning as long as I'm in the 520 area. Mel, Jason, and all the techs. I appreciate you all. John Davis read more

They did a good job putting new injectors in last year but recently they "fixed" two issues I was having with the accelerator and shift sensor. $800 later I get the truck back and both issues are still occurring. I schedule an appointment two weeks out to get it looked at again. Even with an appointment my truck is sitting there for two full days and not even looked at. I'm also told I would pay a diagnostic fee to have the truck looked at if the issue was caused by something different than what they "rectified" the first time around. I fix your roof and tell you it's good to go and then it leaks in the same part, and then when you have me come out again and I told you I have to charge you to come out you'd tell me I'm crazy. Disappointed to say the least. read more

Great folks, they helped me sort out an engine issue with my 7.3 power stroke. I will only add that I was surprised at the final cost given their name, but at the end of the day it was worth the money to find competent folks. They helped me to understand some of the differences between engine sensors and where to purchase them from. Highly recommended. read more

What a wonderful crew. All very restful and friendly. Very knowledgeable and affordable pricing. I look forward to working with them in the future. read more

Thankfully we found this shop on Yelp! We were on day 2 of a 28 day trip to Disney world when we noticed a check engine light on our F250 6.7. I drove to the shop in the late afternoon and spoke to Will. I explained my predicament and the shop agreed to take a look at my truck. Wayne found an error code effecting the air intake and repaired what a Ford dealer in CA couldn't. Wayne also did a PCM update and got us on our way in less than 24 hours. We are forever grateful to Will, Wayne, and Mel for their friendly, honest, fair priced, quick work that saved our vacation! It's nice to see that businesses like this still exist! Look no further if you need Ford diesel repairs. read more

Great and fast service got me home to California on the same day. Everything was clear and straightforward before and after the work was done. They spoke directly with my mechanic at home, and everyone was in agreement. read more

Good honest people. I live out of state had them look at a truck for me and give me their opinion which I appreciate very much.

Great diesel shop with very knowledgeable staff, especially for Ford Powerstrokes, their specialty! They gave me a written quote up front and performed all services impeccable! Best in town for any diesel owners out there! read more

These guys are amazing! The staff is super friendly and considerate and the mechanics are very knowledgeable. I felt super comfortable with everything that went on and they even let me keep my car at the shop for longer than necessary so I can get it sold. They really did go above and beyond and I'm very impressed with the shop. They really know what they're doing when it comes to diesel and my mechanic was super helpful. read more

These guys are amazing! Went above and beyond. Found out I had a bad engine in my 2013 Ford F250 super duty with the 6.7 Powerstroke. Had to get my truck fixed ASAP and they stepped up and got it done. Ordered the engine on Friday, received it late Monday and had the new one installed on Wednesday morning and was ready to pick it up around lunch. Wayne went above and beyond to save my behind. Thank you so much and I recommending to everyone. Sincerely Brandon Marshall. read more

These people do GR8 work and are very service oriented as well as respectful of your vehicle. It will pay to use them for your service needs

They do amazing work! My 2006 Ford was a mess, sand in the engine, it ran poorly. It had to be towed in to them. Now it's better than new! They flushed the engine, put a coolant filter on it. They tuned it up and put an SCT tuner on it so now it actually is an F-350. And they did the injectors. The truck is a hot rod now! Mel is wonderful, I love her, and they have the best techs. Don't bother with anyplace else. read more

Just yesterday I needed DEF and then the engine light came on - Despite it being a busy Monday, Wayne did a sanity check and determined a flawed DEF heat sensor - Made a service appointment and, of course, filled up DEF - Always helpful and attentive to my immediate needs and concerns read more

I have an '05 Excursion. Thought I had an injector go bad. They replaced the injector and then said it wasn't the problem. On to something else. Replaced that. I also had a leak (visibly) in the coolant housing - it was still under warranty from out of state. It was a pain in the ass dealing with that issue to get it covered and they fixed that but said I still had a leak from a clamp on a lower hose. They wanted to charge too much for a simple clamp. My husband can easily do that. Got it home and leak was worse than before. Took it back. They charged me $100 to inspect it to say it was still the clamp they told us about... "he changed the wrong clamp" they said. So he changed the other clamp on the lower hose. Still leaking. Took to another shop and they found the leak. Not the clamp at all. Turned out it was a gasket that was cracked. Problem solved but not by them. They were nice but had many challenges along the way and when it came down to it- they didn't fix the problem and were so certain they knew what was wrong without really listening or digging deeper with our feedback and charged us for an inspection when it was really their error. read more

Be cautious! We we took in a truck we were interested in purchasing to have them check it out before we bought it. They told us a few things that were wrong with the truck which were minor so we bought it. When we took it to our mechanic to make the repairs he found there was a crack in the transmission housing and that the engine had been replaced previously. If we had know about these issues we wouldn't have bought the truck. Oh and I didn't mention that the clutch had been replaced also. Our mechanic found all of this immediately. read more

I had engine problems with my F250 diesel pick up while on vacation in Tucson. Both local Ford dealerships could not schedule an appointment any sooner than 10 days out. I called Affordable Diesel Tech which got me in that day. Both the office manager Mel and the mechanic Ronnie listened carefully to my issue and explained in detail the diagnostic results. They could have sold me a $500 alternator, but that was not necessary - and they said so up front. I took a chance and the service exceed my expectations. Sam Masters 7 MAR 2019 read more

I brought my 1999 Dodge Diesel in because I was having some fuel leak issues. A neighbor had to come out and help me bleed air out twice so I could start my truck. It would usually take about 1 month between bleeds before I couldn't start my truck and would need to bleed it again. We live up in Ash Fork and homestead. We are very much off grid (a little rain, a little snow and you can't get in or out). We rely on this truck to haul our water (no water or electric up there) so it's really important that our truck is running. I had brought my truck to a place in Flagstaff and they (a reputable company it looked like to me online) ignored the leak, fixed some other things and then told me that the leak wasn't a problem. I was really leery to bring my truck anywhere after that. We came down to Tucson to stay for a couple of months - just barely made it with my truck, then had to bleed the air out to get it in to Affordable Diesel. Jason told me that an Airdog Lift Pump should stop the leak. I was a little hesitant about this at first. I did some reading and some people seemed to love it and some people talked about issues like inline fuses being blown. But after talking to a few more places, reading more about the pump and comparing online reviews to several different places, I decided to bring it in to Jason. When I picked my truck up it sounded fantastic. Jason showed me where the pump is located (much easier to access than the old fuel filter). I brought it home and then waited a couple days. The gas was on EMPTY and it was really cold the morning I started my truck up. A perfect start. No problems at all. I've done the same thing a few more times during really cold mornings and I've driven it around a bit here in Tucson. Perfect so far. Sounds great. No more sputters and heaving - just a nice clean start and consistent rumbling. I should also add that the price he quoted me was in that same vicinity when I actually paid. Very very happy with the service at Affordable Diesel. We love Tucson so we'll be here on and off throughout the years to come. If I'm able to, I'll always wait until we're out this way to have my truck serviced at Jason's place. Just seems like a reliable, affordable and honest place to go. And knowing that my truck will be able to do it's job once we get home sets my mind at ease. Thank you for taking good care of our truck. We truly appreciate it. read more

Came to the gem show from LA in my 2006 Diesel Super Duty and had the unfortunate event of breaking down on the day I was supposed to go home. Long story short, this crew came thru and had me on the road in 24 hours. I was lucky, as these guys are super busy servicing the community. Mel was outstanding and everyone their was super nice and trustworthy. Highly recommend! read more

Reliable, professional in every way, on time. I felt certain they knew what they were talking about when I went in for service and had some questions. They recommended an AirDogg lift pump for my 2010 GMC 2500HD, something we had researched and through was necessary also. They did not try to upsell us on anything, gave a written estimate prior to the appointment, did the service we requested, and were earlier than they said getting it back to us. They keep in contact very well. I would recommend this company to anybody. read more

I've gone to AZ Affordable Diesel now for probably 10 years. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I travel the country and it's tough to trust businesses in a strange location. I looked at the google reviews and this place doesn't have a bad review. Never seen this before in my life. Statistics are a bitch, but this place has avoided that ultimate outcome. Anywho. The owner's name is Jason. He works on the Duramax. He has another white gentleman that works on Fords(former 27 year ford mechanic). I can't speak to the Dodge's Cummins. Just got my truck back from this place. I have a 2005 Chevy Duramax. I had the EGR deleted, a PPE tuner installed, fuel filter changed, oil, and air filter. Total cost was roughly $1,100. After the parts came in, Jason did it in a day. Even was nice enough to drop me off at the hotel and come get me. You can't beat that. I can't recommend this place enough. In the end. My mpgs on my first long trip went to 24 mpgs. Jason diagnosed the cause of my starting problem and fixed it in a few hours at less than the estimated cost. A Ford dealer and independent tech couldn't find anything wrong. My wife and I found out about Arizona's Affordable Diesel through a FORD FORUM internet site. Who ever recommended Arizona's Affordable Diesel sure should get a BIG present from Santa! After getting ripped off at the dealership in Sierra Vista time and time again, we took our 2003 diesel F-250 to Jason and Shawn and the gang. I cannot say enough about how great they treated us, how fast they diagnosed the problem (Ford's 6.0 sink bomb), their professionalism, how well they explained the problem, offered a solution and to top it all off - saved us THOUSANDS by us not going to the local rip off dealerships in Sierra Vista or Benson! They even performed additional assistance for free - unreal. If my truck caught fire and I was hundreds of miles from their shop, I would just drive as fast as possible to get to them or let the truck burn along side the road. KUDO's to an honest bunch of mechanics! I just wish I would have known about these great guys years ago. Fantastic service and prices! Honest repair shops are harder to find than an honest politician - these guys are just great. read more

The others who wrote must not have had the same treatment I had. Took my Ford diesel, told them what was wrong, they agreed. Bring it back in a week, we will get parts. Strange since this common part. Took truck back in week. Hi! Who are you? Scary! Left it all day, no call at closing time, I called, have to order more parts? No, I know what's wrong. I left the garage with an untouched truck, there were close to 30 other trucks in their storage lot? Undoughtly waiting for parts! Don't go unless you want a to be lied to and get an inflated bill. Had a constant nagging P0401 insufficient ERG flow code on my 6.0 Excursion for years. Dealer changed the egr valve, didnt work. Other shops always said it was the egr valve. Had the guys at AZ Afford Diesel look at it and they dug deeper than the simple fix. First shot was replacing the MAP sensor. After that didnt work, they found a missing gasket on the egr cooler that the previous shop in CA forgot to install during the head stud replacement. While they were at it, they noticed the unison ring on the turbo was sloppy and replaced and cleaned the turbo. It took a real shop to find the mystery problem that others couldn't.
