Why am I just now discovering their Phoenix Smoothie? It's amazing and I crave it all the time now. Reasonable pricing, super fresh and they make it quick. Love the atmosphere here, I am able to come work, it's quiet and comfortable. You do have to pay for a drink in order to get their wifi password.. only downside, BUT support them! It's an amazing cause.

I ordered a matcha latte and it was very basic. Nothing good or bad. I would now drive out my way to come here but is a great neighborhood spot.

Shoutout to this Black & Female owned coffee shop. I always appreciate supporting places that have a deeper mission, which they are big advocates for human trafficking and helping those in need. I enjoyed my time here with my friend. Lots of open space for seating and not feeling crammed if you want to get some work done. There is a wide variety of baked goods, coffee drinks, tea alternatives, & light bites as well. I love that they have vegan and gluten free options (yayyy). The staff was really helpful with accomodating my food restrictions so that I could eat something. You can get their yogurt fruit bowl sans yogurt, for example, which included fruit they have in season. I also tried their tacos where you can build your own and they have a lot of toppings to choose from. The music was great and they even had a kids "play" area. The parking lot is quite small but you can park along the side of the building. I would highly recommend this spot if you don't want something too overcrowded and can be productive while enjoying delicious treats.

I was visiting my family and wandered into the local shop in the neighborhood. I love a good cup of coffee but love the mission of this place: a non-profit cause to end human trafficking! Hell yes, you have my support! The staff is attentive and friendly. I went in the mid-morning hours so the shop was not packed. The parking lot is small though so I had to park on the street and walk in. I picked up my coffee to go but wished I had longer to stay. It's a great space for working ( as a few were) or catching up with friends over a cup of coffee. The coffee was great too! I got the Sweet Toff and it was delicious. I'll be sure to stop in again next time I am in town.

New menu! The food & drinks I tried today were great. Nice selection of food for both breakfast and lunch. I brought my 2 kids and they enjoyed the breakfast potatoes, chocolate milk and mini banana bread. Only ding is they didn't have any ketchup or ranch for kids, the 2 sauces provided were too spicy for them.

This coffee shop has been on bookmark list and happy I I finally made it in. It's very big for a coffee shop with lots of tables. I should have asked if they have wifi available. As I walked in I was greeted and asked how my morning was going, but not in a automatic way. It was in a genuine way that felt nice. After looking over the menu I picked the Secret Squirrel coffee that was really good. It was a mild smooth coffee. My only complaint is that there is only a standard size available. I couldn't turn down a fresh croissant and I'm so happy I got one. It was fluffy and light with a a nice outer crust. I'll be coming back for sure to try other drinks and their lunch items that sound good.

They have a variety of seating with plenty of outlets (perfect for studying). There's free wifi with purchase. The seats are comfy and the vibes are chill. I love that they're a non profit coffee shop focused on stopping human trafficking. I ordered an iced caramel latte, it tasted like milk ‍ which I guess is a latte lol. I think I should have just gotten a plain iced coffee or cold brew. The latte wasn't anything special, but it was drinkable, which is more than I can say for other places.

2nd cup is right alright, you can't drink just 1 latte.... the secret squirrel latte is my heaven in a cup here. Im not too keen on the name (in a bronx accent). "Come on! i got grey hair here for crying out loud!" Ok ok I will swallow my pride and mumble "let me have the secret squirrel latte please" thank you Melissa bring your own cup and save the planet.

A 2nd Cup might be the best coffee shop that I've been to that's devoted to a great cause. This coffee shop is filled with good vibes and natural lighting. A quality cup of coffee that helps to support the end of human trafficking? I'm all in! This coffee shop is very spacious with plenty of tables, outlets, and chairs to get some work done on your laptop. Perfect for studying, quiet background music, and a variety of coffee, pastries, and food to choose from. They also have a cute little shop area that sells a variety of shirts, jewelry, candles, and knickknacks. As far as coffee goes, my favorites are their mocha with almond milk, any of their seasonal lattes like their pistachio nut latte, or if I'm here for a long study session, I'll get their bottomless coffee cup. I really like their freshly baked pastries as well, these rotate daily on what's available. Other notable things to mention is their free wifi, plenty of parking in their lot, printer available, couple board games to borrow, lots of info from their sponsors, and multiple ways to donate to end human trafficking. Support local, and give this great coffee shop more than a 2nd chance!

Why select one coffee shop over another? Quality brews and a great coffee program are a start. Natural lighting, comfortable seating, and strong accessible WiFi make a memorable impression, right?! But I have to admit, I'm much more inclined to revisit a coffee shop when I know the owner or connect with the shop's powerful mission. Houston is one of the largest hubs for human trafficking in the nation. A Second Cup is Houston's nonprofit coffee shop working to end human trafficking. Their mission is fantastic, and their ability to subtly educate, partner and provide is nothing less than impressive. Walking in, you're greeted with local products, and from that point every detail, from the interior decor and interactive tools in the shop, to the awareness events (including virtual and in person survivor led support groups, safety planning and more) tell a story. Oh, and the coffee is damn good too. For anyone working to kick their "corporate green mermaid" habit by supporting local coffee shops with strong missions, this is your spot!

Off the beaten path coffee shop that doesn't seem to get very busy because ppl don't know about it which surprises me because I would totally come here again. It hit most of the check boxes you want for a coffee shop : Great coffee (yummy sf vanilla decaf almond milk latte) Great food (veggie egg taco & egg biscuit; my friends got the pizza, avocado toast and bkfast sandwich and no complaints) Numerous outlets Lots of seating (unique to have seating on the ground with soft cushions to sit on) Friendly staff and quick service Parking available Good lighting Soft music The only downfall was it got pretty warm so dress accordingly and maybe get an iced coffee. It won't stop me from going again and I would still recommend to others.

non profit coffee shop conveniently located in the heights! there's tons of parking and places to sit. I came here to study and this place is perfect! lots of outlets and tables of various sizes so if you're studying by yourself or with a group, there's no problem finding space. the red baron was delicious! it is a mix of mocha and raspberry giving a decadent taste, almost like dessert hehe I will have to try their food next time!

Hidden gem! Super cute with delicious food and coffee. They also have other drinks incase you will like something else. Rachel i think was her name she was super nice.

A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

It definitely is enough for 2. The meat melts in your mouth. EVERYTHING is better quality than here. Teo charged $1.50 for perhaps 4 or 5 slices of lime to make the happy hour margaritas made with a gross mix drinkable. That's outrageous. It reminds me that I had stopped going long ago when they charged extra for onions on enchiladas. Come on. You don't charge extra for chopped onions! I have never been to another restaurant that does so. Some even provide carmelized grilled onions gratis. I'm convinced that a $15. YUMMY mango margarita at Pappasitos would have given us the same buzz & tasted better than 8 happy hour margaritas here. I used to love the in house made flour tortillas at Teo. Tonight they were tough & uneventful. We arrived on a week night when they were not busy. (NOTE: ONLINE MENU ISNT COMPLETELY UP TO DATE)…read more First time here and had a great brunch experience! My husband's cousin raved about having dinner here the week prior so we decided to try out the Sunday brunch. My husband and I were somewhat skeptical at first based off of the photos. This is not our typical Mexican food. The plates looked a lot smaller online, but I am so glad we tried it because it was delicious!! To start we had a few drinks: 1. Flor de Fuego - it tasted like agua de jamaica with a splash of citrus, in my opinion it was very refreshing 9/10 2. Frozen Margarita - my husband's cousin ordered this in a yeti tumbler, he said the margarita was really good except it was a bit hard to drink since it was frozen the whole time lol 8.5/10 ***tumbler was an additional cost. It is a 16oz yeti. They do offer $10 refills anytime you bring the cup back 3. My husband drank a pacifico. Classic beer. They offered it in both bottle and in glass. 9/10. 4. Carafe mango mimosa - this served about 4 drinks total. It was very champagne forward with the tiniest amount of juice 7.5/10 APPETIZERS: 1. Housemade Bacon w/ Salsa Ranchera - in my opinion this was DELICIOUS. The salsa on this was amazinggg. This dish also comes with a side of authentic flour tortillas. 10/10 2. Tiradito de Hamachi - meh, it was good but wouldn't order again. It literally just tasted like strawberries with a salty aftertaste. We really wanted the aguachiles but they were no longer on the brunch menu. 6.5/10 3. Enfrijoladas - surprisingly this had a lot of flavor, it was paired with the same salsa at the bacon 10/10 ENTREES: 1. Ensalada de cesar - pretty solid, very lemony 8/10 2. Steak and eggs - this was really good, i would say that the steak looked a lot bigger online but it was still overall a delicious filling dish 9.5/10 3. Chilaquiles Divorciados - Probably my favorite thing on the menu. YOU NEED TO TRY THIS WITH THE BARBACOA! It had so much flavor to it and the barbacoa just melts in your mouth 10/10 4. Bacon Burrito - the other couple ordered this and said they enjoyed it, we all expected it to be a lot bigger though 8/10 DESSERT: 1. Tres Leches - the jam on this wasnt my favorite. It was very overpowering. The cake itself was really good. Would order again with fresh strawberries, no jam 7.5/10 2. Banana Pudding Bunelo - its your typical bunelo with a small amount of banana cream filling, topped with homemade banana ice cream 7.5/10 3. Masa Pancake - I am not the biggest fan of pancakes so I didn't try it but the other couple enjoyed it OVERALL: 9/10 experience!!! Total for our portion (Hamachi, 2 drinks, salad, steak, chilaquiles, and tres leches) came out to a total of about $120. We Will definitely be coming back to try out their dinner menu. Our culinary journey started with tuna two ways, and this first bite was actually my favorite of the entire meal. Another highlight was the steak course and the heavenly chocolate dessert course, which was expertly paired with their take on an espresso martini. Chef's kiss! The restaurant is actually quite tiny, and I found it to be on the warm/muggy side, and it wasn't even that hot outside. Also, from a decor perspective, they could certainly use a "freshening up" though perhaps a newer larger location would be a better idea. Still, based solely on the food, my foodie friends and I agreed we would absolutely be back. Their Bibendum nod is well-deserved!

One thing that Doña Leti's does exceptionally well is provide a lot of food for the price. As long as you don't mind waiting for your table, you will have a wonderful dining experience. The fact that Doña Leti's is so busy is proof that the service, food and drinks are all good, and well worth the wait

Get the pork belly bites and their cocktails are delicious…read more If you're here on a Sunday for brunch and have a sweet tooth the French toast is unforgettable. No other French toast will come close. Their homemade sauces make more tantalizing. If you like salty spicy, get the jojo sauce. I don't think it's on the menu And to finish, personally I like cocktails but their fresh filled churros are super fun. And can't beat the fresh factor! Brandon is an excellent attentive server. He knows the menu in and out. He'll steer you right. It's a neighborhood gem

Rodrigo & Araceli were amazing, ensuring everything was going smoothly and according to plan. Our servers Augusto and Christian, were very attentive, kind, and on point with our food and drinks. Ambriza's management & staff truly know how to make their guests feel special. They went above and beyond, exceeding all of our expectations. Definitely having more celebrations here in the future! A Cali girl-lala enjoying some Tex Mex…read more While in HTX I was able to meet up with a friend from college. He mentioned margaritas (not pictured) and food! So we met at Candente. Upon walking in the restaurant was clean it was pretty packed for a Wednesday night but the aroma of the food! OMG! Our server was really nice and patient because my friend and I talked for about 30 minutes before we finally ordered our food. He has the beef enchiladas with rice and black beans. He cleaned his plate...literally not a grain of rice in sight! I had the smoked chicken verde enchiladas and WOW! What an amazing dish. I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur especially being from California. I have always said Tex Mex?.....eeeeyuck! But Candente has changed my tune! I will definitely be back to visit when I return!

Glowing red. Burning. Candente…read more Let me start by saying that I'm not into Mexican food unless it's an auntie or grandma making it at their house. I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
