Friendly professional staff. Storage units are very well managed and clean. I appreciate the security.

Great service!!! Pinky is very helpful and has great customer service!!!! Highly recommended!!!

Great customer service, Glenda was amazing!! Will use again, service, safety, pricing, availability was excellent.

Terrible experience with these people. After YEARS of on time payments we were CHARGED $50.00 for being less than two months behind. The business plan seems to be to take your stuff. Do NOT trust them! read more

Friendly staff. Easy process to secure a storage unit. Pricing is a little high but with a Yelp check in they will I've you the lock. I rented here because I was on a time crunch but had I had a little more time I would have found someplace cheaper. read more

Great storage to place your valuable things in! Good service & very spacey! I'd recommend!

Super helpful staff and very easy to get too. We're storing almost our whole house during a remodel and this place is a lifesaver!

I was in quick need of a large storage unit, I looked online and their prices were the best. Booked- simple The next day just as promised Megan from the store called me to let me know they got my reservation and they were ready for me. Went to the store, masks were worn and Plexi screens dividers up. Was a fast check-in, shown the best route to my unit-Done! Off and running! Thanks a lot Megan for the excellent customer service! I highly recommend read more

A-1 in La Mesa took care of everything I needed due to a recent move. Megan and Patrick helped me out a lot when the moving company left some of my items in one of the freight elevators. Not only did they locate my goods but also moved them back into the unit I had rented and kept them under lock and key. Thanks again for your help. read more

Best place ever highly recommend this place if you are moving they help a lot and very good costumer service

My family and I had a 3 week gap between selling our house and moving into our new house. Needless to say, it was a lot of trips to and from! We were looking for a storage close to the freeway, clean, and easily accessible. A-1 was a great choice. Mostly because Grace and Pinky are awesome! We ended up needing two storage units and both ladies were so helpful, pleasant, and even had great suggestions on units, deals, etc. I would highly recommend A-1 Storage in La Mesa if your in the market for an affordable storage company with great costumer service. read more

The customer service this self-storage is well below par. Do you remember how you felt when you walked into the front office in high school... same feeling when you walk into this place. You get the, "What the hell do you want?" look. The storage we use itself gets the job done though. The prices are satisfactory. read more

This storage unit is way off the beaten path in La Mesa. That's probably why it's ridiculously inexpensive. Pros: -Excellent customer service. The girls in the office are always ridiculously friendly. I've never gotten attitude, no matter what other Yelpers insist. -Super secure, clean, well-lit facility. -It's cheeeeeap. -Yelp check in gets you three free boxes. EVERY SINGLE TIME you check in. It's kind of crazy. Cons: -It's out in the middle of nowhere. Way off the freeway. If you're driving a huge, ungainly UHaul truck, it's, uh, pretty exciting. -The elevators are about two feet too short for the provided carts. Getting loaded carts into the elevator is a feat of physics that generally requires three adults lifting and dragging and aggressively maneuvering said cart into place. Biggest pain in the ass EVER. -There's very little space for loading/unloading...if you go on a Saturday afternoon, be prepared to haul your belongings a considerable distance. I don't know, it's a storage unit. Whatever. It'll keep your stuff safe and money in your bank account. read more

Great service! Liliana was extremely helpful in helping me find the unit best suited for me. The space and area itself is clean and safe. Highly recommend! read more

My family and I found ourselves in need of a storage unit and came across A-Storage and I'm glad we wondered into this office because EJ made having to get a storage easy and pleasant. He was knowledgeable, patient, told us about the extra discounts available and his customer service was top notch! A-1 Storage is lucky to have him as an employee. read more

Grace was amazing. it was clean and well done. the stairs were wide and accommodating for lifting up bulky items and furniture. only downside I saw was that on the third floor there was no door stops for the doors. had to use boxes to keep open. read more

A-1 experience and service! My roommates and I needed a storage unit for the summer and none of us have ever used a storage facility before, so I called A-1 to get our questions answered. Pinky answered the phone, and she was so helpful and kind! She helped us get set up at our storage unit (showed us to our unit, how to use the lock, and how to arm/disarm the unit). We got a free lock just by checking in on Yelp! The facility was very clean and cool, and the employees are very helpful! Overall, it was a great experience. :) read more

Let me say this to start out! A-1 is Clean, Bright, Affordable, Secure, But did you know: They're Responsive and Knowledgeable I finally met Jenn in person after all the other communication. She' was helpful, courteous and Very Knowledgeable! Getting storage is easy, but try dealing with the staff at some of these other storage places can be a handful and then some! I was not sure what I was going to do after my mother passed and I had the unpleasant chore of cleaning up her belongings from various storage sites. (Why she felt the need to have storage all over the city, I'll never know...it's not like a stock investment portfolio where you need to be diversified, it's Storage for Pete's Sake) This is where I found it to be Night and Day difference from one storage site to another. The on-site manager Jenn politely took my call the first time....Asked my name, relation and pertinent information about my situation and even offered her condolences to my mother's passing...:-) I felt like from the other companies renting out storage in my mother's name, could care less who I was, just that I was bugging them from being on their Iphone or whatever ;-( Jenn knew the issues I was dealing with as she must have dealt with this before. Walked me to my storage location and helped with showing me all the necessary packing material and items displayed neatly inside their office! Friends, if you are going through someone's past storage or you need it for yourself, please consider A-1 in LaMesa off Center Drive. It has all the things you'd expect: Clean, Bright, Secure, Affordable, but it has two you might not expect! Responsive and Knowledgeable. Thanks Jenn and A-1 Storage for all you do! Sincerely P. read more

Super helpful and accommodating. When we checked in the unit wasn't exactly suited to our needs but they were able to switch us easily and quickly quickly. Super impressed and happy. read more

Self-storage ain't cheap but if you gotta go for it this is a VERY nice place to deal with. It's a convenient location to those who live in the area, clean, well-kept, very secure and safe feeling for both your stuff and yourself, and the ladies at the front desk--I'm familiar with Wendy and Jennifer--are cheerful and most helpful. I had looked into a smaller place that was cheaper nearby but it was also more inconvenient to get into and didn't look as weatherproof. Plus there was only one man at the office and he wasn't always in. Here there is always someone to help you when the office is open and you can get to your stuff up till 8pm with your access codes. The ladies even give you a courtesy call if you don't pay on time so you won't get a late fee. read more

EJ helped me so much and was had a very positive attitude. The space is clean and easily accessible and EJ made sure I had everything needed for a smooth transition from a difficult situation. Thanks! read more

Great experience. Came to see about getting a storage unit and they even walked us through each size to make sure we got the appropriate size. No pressure to get anything extra so that was a major plus. read more

Patrick was amazing! Made the storage rental process nice and easy. Thanks for everything.

Thanks Grace, you were very helpful! She was very helpful with check-in, information, and with questions or anything I needed at all during my initial visit. The unit is a good size and seems easy enough to access. I will update the review later as I continue to use it and understand the ins and outs of the building. read more

We had a great experience. The staff was quick to help us. Super friendly and could answer any question we had. They explained everything up front and had us in a unit in under 20 minutes. They were helpful in pointing out a free lock with YELP. Building was very clean and units are easily accessible. read more

Gee, I wish I could say something better about A-1 Storage, because it seems they have great rates and are close by, but unfortunately, I can't. They don't seem to really know the meaning of good customer service when the customer has a question or that they simply would rather not hear about. Instead, they cop an attitude and sound very canned. If you're not happy with this treament, then YOU'RE being unreasonable, so now YOU are the bad guy! Not my idea of "EQ" -- emotional intelligence. Being evasive and spouting a script just doesn't cut it when the customer is annoyed. PS: The comment left below demonstrates precisely what I mean about their attitude: if you don't like it, lump it. WE'RE refuse to change or improve, or even take seriously your feedback. read more

Thank you to Grace and Pinky for your world class customer service! I was highly satisfied with the service they provided.

Grace and Pinky at A-1 delivered top notch customer service. Very friendly and easy to work with. Great experience!

Painless experience. Pinky was great at showing me options to fit my situation and budget. Just moved out Sunday because I have enough room at my new home and received good service when checking out as well. On line payment options were easy to navigate. P.S. This locations prices were lower then their near by sister store. read more

Reserving this unit on line was super easy. After receiving a quote last week they followed up with us reminding us they were there to answer any questions. This let us know they wanted our business. After looking online and comparing rates we chose this location as it is close to our home and had the best rate. Upon arrival it looked very clean and they are very professional. Over all we like the service this far. read more

I have to move in three weeks and they definitely took care of me and made my transition into storage a really smooth one!

Please don't take your personal belonging to this storage they ask u to fill out paper work saying what u might put in the storage and then they go into your storage and steal what they want. My thing were only their for about 2 months and many thing were taken when I was asked to get a police report I did and the officer did a interview over the phone I told him what was missing and the officer said that it looked like a inside job all of the employee has their stories together they talk about having camera but the only camera were on the out side of the building and they talk about weekly walk through, out the premises but your stuff can be taken on a Monday but the next walk through won't be until the next Monday even the claims department were in on it and her supervisor beware of A-1 Storage and on Main Street they steal and lie check your storage as often as u can because they will still your thing and get away with it read more
