Their reliability and ease of setting up the packing and move when I was not even able to be present and the timing was truly helpful. It was more expensive than I had ever paid for movers, even without the packing, and that's honestly why I could not give them full 5 stars. As a military member going through an honorable discharge to help my family in crisis while already injured myself, I had to empty out my own savings and my children's I had saved up over a 9-month deployment in the combat zone to move back to my family when they needed my help, not even sure if I could then provide for them. So while I really thank them for the job they did, I never financially recovered from that and I do ask Rock Movers to consider the vets or military members in San Diego and to complete a weight estimate for them to be reimbursed.

We didn't quite hit that, but at no point did it feel like anyone was wasting time. The crew hustled the entire job. They listened to how I wanted to prioritize the move. We focused on large furniture first, got all the key items handled, then worked through the rest. Communication was constant. They asked questions, followed direction, and adjusted quickly without any pushback. The team was professional the whole time. No hesitation, even with heavy items or sending things upstairs. Everything was wrapped appropriately, not overdone, just done right. Nothing was damaged, and they were careful with walls and flooring throughout. We had discussed heavier items and drive time ahead of time, and everything was handled fairly. No surprises. I also compared pricing beforehand, and their rate of $199/hour (cash) plus the $60 truck fee was in line with what I was seeing. They "lost" a box of dishes on a move that was only 10 minutes away, point A to point B, so it's hard to see how a box could actually get "lost." There was a box left in the truck at the end of the move that I believe was actually that box of broken dishes they "lost" even tho the mover claimed it was his box, so now I am missing irreplaceable handmade pottery and a bowl from Japan. After multiple emails, they told me they found the box and then have apparently lost it again. ---- We are a military family and move a lot & this was by far our worst moving experience. Estimated 5-7 hours for packing, moving, and unloading a 1-bed/1-bath apartment but it took 9. They kept insisting it was because packing takes a long time, but in all of our moves it has never taken this long to pack our things. I'd already taken everything out of the cabinets and off the hangers in my closet and bathroom myself, so all they needed to do was pack it up, not deal with any of that extra handling. The timing was still way off, which meant the cost ended up much higher than quoted too. I also asked upfront if there was an extra cost for packing and they said no it just adds more hours, but then was charged for boxes and packing materials. Two of the crew spent much of the day arguing with each other, and one kept pointing out that they were behind schedule without it actually changing their pace. Two guys left before the job was finished (understandable given how long the day had already run, but not great). They also broke some of my dishes and were told not to tell me. When the crew lead was wrapping up, he told me the truck was empty so I started walking that way to check. He seemed reluctant and insisted it was empty, but I checked and noticed there was still a box inside, which he claimed was his own. The next day I discovered a full box of dishes missing, including a bunch of pottery I'd made myself and a bowl I'd brought back from Japan. I believe that box in the truck was the broken dish box, deliberately held back. The move was literally 10 minutes away from point a to point b with no stops, so it makes no sense how a random box could actually be lost. I contacted the company about the missing box, and after going back and forth having to specify the missing items three separate times, they offered to replace them. Unfortunately most can't be replaced, since the pottery was handmade. I explained this along with my other concerns about the move, and their response time has been incredibly slow. After telling me multiple times they didn't have the box, I wrote a Google review and then 30 mins later got an email they "found" the box and the dishes are indeed broken. They claim they were put in a separate part of the truck to prevent injury and then the movers "forgot". I asked them to return the box of dishes and provide compensation for the broken ones and was ignored. I followed up and was told they don't have the box. At this point I've filed a complaint with the CA Bureau of Household Goods & Services because they are intentionally withholding my own property from me. Do not use Grizzly Movers. I wouldn't use this company again, and definitely would not recommend for your move. I understand everyone has off days but I would expect better customer service after the fact for providing such a poor experience.
