Yes, as of when we dined there earlier today 6.24.2021, both indoor and back patio dining were available. The owner is very gracious and the food is fantastic!

Nope not spicy chicken at all. I can't eat spicy either so their demon lover dish was good for me They have homemade hot sauce you can use to add a bit more spice

We had gotten 3 quotes already from other restaurants via phone. Making us drive 45 mins just to get a quote is a total waste of time. Especially if we can't afford it. So my daughter called again, left a VM explaining we couldn't come in person due to time constraints, and again asked for a quote. No reply. We waited a few days and called again. No reply. Finally we got a voicemail from the owner saying that she didn't like my daughter's attitude ?!!! Apparently you're not allowed to ask this restaurant how much they charge for events unless you're face to face. This lady has absolutely no idea how to run a restaurant. As for the kimchi fried rice, I liked the addition of cilantro and beets, which gave it a refreshing touch. My only issue was that the kimchi itself was way too sour for kimchi fried rice. I don't mind fermented or sour kimchi, but in this case, the sourness overpowered the rest of the dish. Overall, the cafe itself is cute and the people working there were genuinely very kind. I just wish the food had been a little better, especially the fried chicken. Will be back next time to try out the coffee!! It is a cafe after all.

After 45 minutes of playing the waiting game, we asked what was going on and found out our order was never even entered into the system. Heavy lapse in service. Management and our waitress apologized and comped an appetizer, which I appreciated. Mistakes happen, but sitting for almost an hour watching everyone else eat was a test of patience. I'll still be back because that French toast is top tier, but hopefully, the kitchen system gets it together next time.

I couldn't stop eating that, either. It was that good. I ordered it medium, and it was pretty pink, but it was sooooooo flavorful, and all the toppings worked well together. I didn't get any cheese on it because I wanted to try to burger by itself and not mask it with cheese. I might try adding cheese next time, but honestly the burger is so good, I almost wouldn't want to cover up its flavor with cheese. Oh, I almost forgot. When you order on Door Dash, you can opt to have them include a small side of their chocolate-chipotle bbq sauce, and I highly recommend that you get it. It's a really interesting flavor and is good for dipping the fries in. I didn't try putting it on the burger, but that might be good, too. The mac and cheese was OK. It's important to note that I enjoyed the flavor but it is more of an eggy consistency than a saucy mac and cheese if that makes sense. It has a nice kick of black pepper, which I liked, though. The vegetarian fried rice was also fine but could have used a little salt. All that to say, don't be like me and procrastinate, get the Cali Alley Burger and fries ASAP.

I usually get their matcha and their breakfast burrito. Both always hit the spot. The burrito is very filling and they do not skimp out on the ingredients. They also give you a hot sauce to go with your burrito. I love bringing people here to just catch up or to do work. To the Rude waitress/cashier or whatever you are at the front area in 900 Grayson I think its RACIST to turn away black people talking about you close at 10:30am and reopen at 11:30am with a restaurant full of WHITE People! Our work office recently moved in the area. I was able to check out this place. The cafe is small & cute. I've had their Tom Boy and Demon Lover on separate occassions. Tom Boy was good. Small portion. Just wished the bread toast was better quality rather than a regular slice of white bread. I think I had the apricot jam. The corn beef itself was delicious. Again, just wished there were more corn beef. The Demon Lover I had was somewhat burnt. I guess it's a hit or miss, how long they cook it on the burner. One section of my waffle was burnt & dry and doesn't taste like buttermilk at all. Chicken pieces were a great portion. Some parts of it were moist & juicy...and again, some are burnt. I did not know we have to ask for gravy on side; otherwise, it will come out with gravy on poured on the plate already. The breading of the chicken was not crispy and wasn't crunchy....maybe because the gravy soaked the breading and made it soggy. I like the breading seasoning though. For me, it just taste like fried chicken steak with gravy. Nothing special. Had better. Couldn't finished it so brought it home as leftovers. I must say, when I reheated it for my dinner, it actually tasted a lot better! The seasoning definitely marinated the chicken. Overall, the service was great. Food was ok. That house made hot sauce is hella spicy & good. I like it hot & spicy! I'll be back again whenever craving for breakfast foods and treat myself...hopefully, it won't be burnt again. I HATE chicken and waffles! I live in L.A. home of that other chicken and waffles place that everyone seems to love. Went there once and swore off the stuff. Out of towners made me return 20 years later. No change, I never have to go back there again. Now, My brother lives in the Bay Area and bugged me about going to 900 Grayson on my last visit. I mean BUGGED ME! "...you are going to love it... you have to have the demon lover...". The only reason I agreed to go is because our name is Grayson. Oh yeah, it was his birthday too! I ordered the demon lover with gravy and syrup because I didn't trust that the gravy was going to be all that. How could it be? I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! Not loved - past tense, because I yearn for it every week. Everything was perfect! Each forkful of waffle, with a bite of chicken, and drizzle of gravy was like a symphony in my mouth. I am mad at myself for wasting $2 on the syrup though. I am now planning my trips up north around being able to go to 900 Grayson. I am so glad that my niece is going to Cal State East Bay so I have an excuse to travel north. Shhh, she'll think I'm coming to see her. This place was adorable, I mean a pink cottage on a street corner with a garden patio is going to charm. But the food was not spectacular. I went here with some friends looking for brunch, but since it was one pm by the time we got there, we got a day-time menu. I'm assuming there is an earlier brunch menu? We were quite sad there were no pancakes or delicious breakfast fare to speak of. Only salads, sandwiches and burgers, all of which were upwards of ten bucks. I ordered a Poor Charlie, an ahi tuna burger with fries. This was a delicious delicious, seared raw tuna burger that was lacking in the spices department but otherwise delightful. My friend got the chicken waffle, which was (predictably) one large waffle with three strips of fried chicken on top. When she asked for both gravy and syrup, the waiter said she would be charged extra for both. We thought this was cheaper behavior than the prices might have suggested appropriate. Don't get the bloody maries, they suck. The food is good, but overpriced. The atmosphere is charming, but the waiters aren't. Probably better off trying somewhere else for brunch, this might be a better lunching spot. read more

900 Grayson has a nice and cozy Southern feeling nestled on the edge of Berkeley. Sadly, this place is not open on Sunday and as a result, everyone tries to rush in on Saturdays! Get there early to try and avoid the lines, but by 9:00 AM on Saturdays, the wait gets to about an hour to and hour and a half long. Is it worth it? I thought it was. Parking is a little difficult, but if you are opposed to walking a couple blocks, you can park a block or two away from 900 Grayson towards the Marina and you should be set. I got the Demon Lover (Chicken and waffles) covered in sweet maple syrup and grave sauce with a watermelon fresca. The chicken was surprisingly juicy and the waffle was nice and fluffy. Their drinks vary from season to season and I also had their strawberry fresca. All really tasty and fresh from the fruit. Not from concentrate. I would definitely take family and friends if you are in the neighborhood, but you just have to be prepared to wait on an empty stomach. read more

My family wanted to try chicken and waffles for a while. We decided to give this place a try due to the reviews on a recent day trip to Berkeley and were so glad we did. We arrived after the kitchen had closed for breakfast, but the waiter was happy to seat us while waiting for the kitchen to reopen for lunch 20 minutes later. Everyone was very friendly. We ordered two Demon lovers (chicken and waffles) and a daily special sandwich. Everything was so delicious! I was especially impressed about how family friendly the restaurant was. I had 4 kids ranging from 11 to 17 with me and the kids asked to split an order of chicken. Not only did we not get any dirty looks from the wait staff, they brought us extra plates! We didn't feel rushed and really enjoyed the atmosphere. A line was forming as we left, so we were actually happy that we got seated when we did. Rule # 1, The BEST EVER is the BEST EVER for a reason Like most awesome breakfasttime spots, this place gets packed! BUT I SWEAR BY THE POWER OF SATAN'S COD PIECE, THE DEMON LOVER IS THE BEST CHICKEN N' WAFFLES YOU'VE EVER HAD. I hate hyperbole with an amount of hyperbole so boisterous that, if admitted to, could only make me hate hyperbole even more! But the Demon Lover, with its perfectly fried boneless chicken, amazing gravy, and light/fluffy waffles have the words Demon Lover on my short list of FIRST BORN SON NAMES. Every time I visit 900 Grayson, I prep myself to order something new. But who am I kidding...I'm a DEMON LOVER!!! You just can't mess with PERFECTION! Waffles + gravy + perfectly fried chicken + hella tabasco = a conversation stopper! As soon as my plate arrives, it's allllll business! Every bite is just as delicious as the first! This is seriously one of my most favorite dishes ever! It is a cute restaurant disguised as a house, with pretty artwork on the inside. The patio area looks super cute. Maybe next time for a change I will eat my demon lover outside on the porch instead of inside the house...OoOOo that sounds so daring of me...teehee! I only eat breakfast on weekends, but my friend dragged me out to eat at 900 Grayson this morning. I usually start my day with cup of coffee and pastry, and their menu was more on the savory side. Having a hard time to decide, I took a risk and ordered the Demon lover: waffle with fried chicken and gravy. It turned out to be wonderful! Waffle had a hint of sweetness, savory white gravy with tender fried chicken, sprinkle of spicy red seasoning as garnish. I've heard stories about their bad service, but they were great! It was very excellent! I'll be back frequently! Jake (one of the owners) is in charge of this establishment, and it will only improve. This location is expanding, and it will be great to watch what happens next! My party tried the six varieties listed below, and the majority of them were delicious, and I'm looking forward to trying them again. I suppose a handful of them could be improved, but that's just my opinion. I believe that a large number of people will enjoy this location. It's great, but this place takes chicken and waffles to a whole new level. The chicken is cooked beautifully, and the waffles soak up whatever topping you decide to grace your chicken with. You have the option of getting either gravy or syrup as your topping. I recommend getting both - it's $2 more, but worth every penny. They also make their own hot sauce - I like to add it in because it gives every bite a kick. My sister and I recently ate at 900 Grayson for the first time. She found it on YELP. The burger was fabulous. The service was good. Everyone was really nice. They didn't over do it by coming to your table to often. You didn't have to look for them for more ketchup. Either one of those scenarios can mess up your entire experience. We had a great time. The only draw back is that it is small, yet very popular, so the wait can be long. But it is worth it. Enjoy! read more

This was my second time here. I wanted to love it, based on the reviews, but have mixed feelings about it. I ordered the smoked Gouda omelette and it was dripping in butter, as were the crispy hash browns. Now I love omelettes and hash browns, but this was so rich and greasy that I felt sick! The Acme levain bread was excellent, but an extra $2 for a slice coffee was good, but I had to ask for refill. Not saying I won't go again, but not high on my list. read more

I visit this establishment quite often and am always satisfied. There are few restaurants in the neighborhood that compare. Their Demon Love chicken and waffle plate is good, only I feel I can eat two of them. I usually need more fuel and am ravenous after a night of love making. Coffee is good, with real sugar cubes. Excellent service, great environment and atmosphere. I will return and when I do, make sure that Demon Lover can fill me up. read more

Have been here several times with either Toni or a friend. Service is always top notch; food has some variance. Ms. Piggy was pretty good, but as others have noted it was a little dry. The corned beef hash (Tom Boy, with Potato, apple, celery root and corned beef hash) was interesting but not a knockout; as there were very few distinct flavors. Stumbled upon this place one weekend and decided to return with my friend for brunch. Wow, what a surprise. I really enjoyed the food. Decor was not the best...its pretty cramped. I got the steak and egg and the strip steak was cooked well, although, I wished the portion was a bit bigger for the price.
