You ever hear about a place and have it on your list forever before you finally give it a try?!? Yep, that was me with 73 & Main. Friends had been raving about this place years ago but I never made it out.....until this week. Queen's Feast (ie Restaurant Week) was the perfect opportunity to give them a try. I made a reservation, just to be safe. But it wasn't really needed at the time/day we went. When we arrived, we were promptly seated. I loved the restaurant decor....it has an old elegant feel with all the wood paneling. There is a row of windows lining one side which brightens things up. There was a bar area almost hidden behind a wall that I happened to find when walking to the bathroom. Our waitress, while busy, was very pleasant and accommodating. I ordered off of the Restaurant Week menu. The Zucchini Fries were delicious! The batter was very flavorful and the portion size was generous. My main dish, the Sesame Tuna was really good as well, although the Brussel Sprouts were the true star of the show. The bread pudding was pretty good, although the sweetness of it overpowered any other flavor profile for me. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely return again. Please note that the parking was a little tricky. There was a lot behind the building but cara parked on both sides made it nearly impassible. Still one of favorite places to go to, 73 & Main never disappoints. Servers are always WELL trained for their jobs and have been so friendly and helpful. Food is always amazing and on this visit we were trying out their submission for the Cabarrus March Burger Madness competition. While it was very yummy, it wasn't a winning entry this year for us. It was a little too safe in creativity. But the burger was delish! The restaurant is nicely appointed and has a great bar area and a bourbon bar area as well. They had live music while we were there and it was pretty loud. I didn't love that at all. Maybe live music should be out on the patio because it was pretty hard to have a conversation with our party of six. BUT overall, we love 73&Main and we'll be back read more

The prime rib was very good with the side of potato cakes was very good. I wound strongly recommend the prime rib. The service was very good. I believe the reservation was in the Mercentile Dinjng room which seemed very formal. Excellent server who was very helpful with the menu. read more

We made a reservation for restaurant week as first time guests. They have three different seating areas, a bar area, dining area, and then a cozy more intimate white table cloth area. We were sat in the white table cloth area which was nice since we were dressed up, I would have felt over dressed if I just sat in the regular dining area. I got a manhattan which is very strong so beware lol. We tried the firecracker shrimp and zucchini fries. Both delicious. Then for entrees we got the pecan crusted salmon and mesquite chicken. The main meal was a little lack luster. And then for dessert, carrot cake and the bread pudding. Both very sweet. The menu had a lot of other options I would like to try so I think we will come back. This was our first time visiting as I'd heard rumblings that this place was worthy of checking out. This was a good solid restaurant experience. There was a decent menu selection and unique drink options. They have a brewery onsite with many types of beer. My husband enjoyed one of their Haze doctor. If you're not a beer drinker, I would highly recommend the lavender mule. I went with plans to order some type of fish but I actually settled on the ribeye and filet burger and potato cakes! Both were great. I also highly recommend the zucchini fries with aioli and the house-style Brussels sprouts (which I believe had a pomegranate reduction and Parmesan cheese). They were both deliciously prepared. For dessert we got the biscoff "brownie" dessert which was on special. I put "brownie" in quotes because our servicer described it this way but it was really more of a pudding texture rather than a firm bite. Still good. Dinned here often in the past but never again. Was seated at a table where chairs were in contact with adjoining table chairs. (see photo) Bumped our table and spilled a drink. Tried for over 15 min. to get attention of waiter to assist in cleaning up the spill. Had to go to service desk to get someone to help clean up the spill. Neither the manager or waiter offered even a single word of apology. Ordered prime rib but was served steak. Again, not one single word of apology. All three of the dinners we ordered were served luke-warm at best. Quality of food was good to excellent as always, but customer service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. 73 and Main is our go to place for any kind of celebration and they did not disappoint. Love the interior of the building, which is a rustic and warm feeling. We always come and get the prime rib, which is absolutely delicious and our daughter-in-law got the fillet which tasted amazing. The service was great and very attentive. The only thing I did not like was on this particular night they had a band in there which turned out to be not a big deal because we went and asked to be seated in the bar or the back room. This place is a gem in this area. Options are slim and we were surprised to find this spot so busy on a Sunday night! We didn't have a reservation so we sat on the bar side of things. Chase was our server, he was friendly and on top of things. The food did take awhile to come, but I'm sure the kitchen was backed up with the crowd. They have an awesome selection of whiskey's and my husband got a very fancy smoked drink. For dinner we shared the fish and chips as well as the burger. The fish and chips was good, but the burger was really the winner for us. It was perfectly cooked and super flavorful, the homemade chips were also seasoned super well and just all around tasty. We met some friends here for dinner. Our waiter, Chase, was terrific. The guys had steak and prime rib, and the girls had chicken. My prime rib was wonderful. Went for a birthday dinner with four on 8-22-25, table 301 , ck 45. Service was a 8 out of 10. Booked reservation online, (had to because after leaving message on their phone line early in the day, no one ever called me back). Wanted a 6:00 seating but it showed full so took a slightly later one, (they open at 5:45). When we walked in, dining room was almost empty. We passed by all the open window seats and were sited next to servers wall partition. Dry aged Ribeye , sirloin , and prime rib were good . Salmon was pretty good. Wine selection was great. Brussels were pretty good. Bourbon bar (Summer) was excellent, went extra step to get me what I wanted. Creme Brule only mediocre. Up to the desert, I would have rated everything higher. I live in MP and my fiancé and I have been to 73&Main plenty of times and got take out plenty as well. We got takeout Friday evening and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. We got the Segraves chicken and the medallions (which were tiny); it was $75. We got no bread, no silverware, I did not get mashed potatoes with the steak, and I asked specifically for them and about them when I ordered. The steak was very well done and not good. Found myself in the charming town of Mt. Pleasant and decided to go to the lauded 73 & Main for dinner with my family. I LOVE this place! For us, it is quite a haul, but well worth it. I did make reservations, but not sure they would be needed if you go early enough. You have to call to make them; the app online doesn't work. It wasn't immediately evident where to park, so we parked in the lot across the street. I didn't see any signs indicating who the lot belonged to, and did not get a ticket or towed! They have signals to help you cross the street to get to the restaurant which you should use, it is a busy little intersection. We were kindly greeted, seated, and served immediately. Our server was busy but very efficient. She didn't miss a beat! The tea is delicious; the server told us one girl makes it and if she's off people complain. It had a unique flavor I couldn't identify. We ordered appetizers to share for the table. Firecracker Shrimp was a hearty dish, with 8 jumbo shrimp, fried and coated in a sweet and slightly spicy sauce and served with Ranch dressing. These shrimp are HUGE and could easily be used as an entree. We also had Sriracha fries which were the favorite appetizer of the night. Fresh cut fries smothered in beer cheese and topped with bacon, scallions, and sriracha made for the perfect starter. Very filling though! I ordered a salad to accompany my meal, which was delicious and topped with their homemade 1000 Island dressing. That was a treat, as you rarely see that homemade. The croutons were nice too! Our entrees were so good, but so much food! We probably should have shared one, or at least 2 of us. I had the Beef tenderloin, which was served over heavenly creamy red-skinned mashed potatoes which were some of the best I've ever had. My guess is plenty of butter and heavy cream went into those suckers. The gravy was a demi-glace that was reduced to make it super concentrated and flavorful. Finally, it was sprinkled with fried onion slices. I could make the case that you should just come for those. They were that good. The Baby Back Ribs were fall off the bone delicious. Smothered in a local distillery's sauce and cooked until that sauce was wholly caramelized. It was served with your choice of side, and my son chose to upgrade to the Bacon Macaroni and Cheese. It was made with the Orecchiette pasta, mixed with that beer cheese we had on the fries, and topped with bacon and caramelized onions. So rich, but delicious! The last entree came from the pub menu which has recognizable food that even your pickiest kid will love. My daughter chose the buffalo chicken sandwich and I loved how thin they made the chicken cutlet. It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We shared a couple of desserts, too. Brown sugar creme brulee and Bourbon bread pudding. Both were pretty yummy but honestly not special. I would skip it next time. Wonderful date night restaurant or for a small crowd of friends. They get an extra star for the beer. The master brewer knows what he's doing. They just need some help with everything else. Beautiful interior with large windows that face the main intersection in downtown Mount Pleasant. But with all that sunshine, they need to be aware of how that can heat the room up. It was a bit on the hot side of comfortable for my liking. Our waitress started out friendly and attentive but as the night wore on she grew short and absent. We started with the bruschetta and it was okay. It would have been a lot better had the bread been toasted because after a few minutes, it turned into soggy cheese bread. I had read some of the reviews and decided to go for the highly rated prime rib and it was so disappointing. It tasted like it had been cut yesterday and left out. It was dry and at room temperature. The white bread they brought out was also not hot and lacked flavor. The margherita flatbread was also soggy and flavorless. One star food at a five star price. We've never had a smooth visit, but last night was shameful. We waited an hour for a table despite a reservation. The poor person at the hostess station was multitasking at the bar, with two party evens upstairs, and literally had to abandon the hostess station for extended periods. Patrons arrived and just stood there with no one with whom they could check in or be seated. We sat at the bar where the area in front of us was dirty. The bartender put our drinks down, with no napkin, We requested three times for someone to wipe away the food residue or give us a napkin. Another patron gave us one of their cocktail napkins so we could clean our area. Finally seated, they were out of Wedge salads, prime rib, and a host of other items. We were informed that the kitchen was backed up and short staffed. we were told our steak orders would take 45 minutes. We ordered simple appetizers, wine, and left as soon as we could. We were told that in addition to the understaffed kitchen, the managers were on vacation, the wait staff was understaffed, and there were two event parties upstairs. We truly felt sorry for the short staffed employees who were doing their best. Our previous visits always had issues ( repeatedly out of items, steaks undercooked, long waits despite reservations). More than once, a manager tried to make amends giving us a free dessert. We'd rather a nice dining event than a free dessert! This visit had every possible screw up a restaurant could offer. We have such a lack of quality restaurants in the Concord area. However, we will NEVER go back to this restaurant. Buyer beware! read more

Looking at the restaurants in the area, this one had general good reviews. Our family, party of 6 adults, was looking for a nice dinner. The overall ambiance and cleanliness were good. However, once we sat down our server was very cold, short and did not seem to care to give a higher level service. After working for many years in a nice restaurant during my college years, I would have never gave off this kind of curt attitude. Being that it was our first time at this restaurant, we did take a few mins to look over the menu. We proceeded to order after she took an extended amount of time to return after our drink order and then we sat for almost 45 mins waiting for dinner. At no time did she ever return to the table until the food arrived. During our dinner we had to ask what appeared to be a manager for a glass of water after my son ran out of his soda. They did ask how the food was and if we needed anything. I could have brought our sub-standard experience to their attention but felt it was in-appropriate since we were there visiting with family. The food itself was good. The plates were normal sized. This is a higher price point restaurant for the area and we were surprised they did not offer any bread for the table or salads with their dinner plates. Had they offered this, the 45 mins+ might not have seemed like an eternity waiting for our dinner. Our family lives in the area and we visit the area frequently. After this sub-standard experience we will not be returning. I would choose a different restaurant! read more

The restaurant is located in a beautifully renovated old building facing the town square in Mt Pleasant. The open floor plan allows you see to across the dining area. They have a full bar and a seating area around the bar. The atmosphere is pleasant and rustic. The place is very clean. They have a 96.0 sanitation grade. The decor on the walls features vintage photos of the nearby area and portraits of local figures from decades past. We had reservations. Upon arrival we were promptly seated. Our server, Tamara, took our beverage order and explained the special for the night. When she reappeared with our waters she then took our orders and our cocktail orders. Our cocktails arrived in a few minutes and were perfectly made. They even knew what a Scooby Snack was. She watched our drink glasses and offered to bring us another round as finished the first. I ordered the nightly special- Filet Mignon medallions over mashed potatoes and topped with a demi sauce and onion straws. The steak was super tender cooked perfectly. The sauce delicious and tied the entire dish together. Others in my party ordered steaks. They were ALL good. One person ordered brussel sprouts that were delicious. The smokey bacon mac and cheese was wonderful. The tuna was good. The potato cakes were memorable. The star of the night was the bourbon bread pudding. It was amazing and worth the money. Everything was very good. We were pleased with the food, drinks, service, and entire experience. This place was a great choice to make my birthday special. read more

Tried contacting them a few days in a row, multiple calls each day to set up a reservation and they never once answered their phone or responded to my voicemail. Made a reservation online instead only because I still want to try the food but their service is clearly 0/10. If your website suggests calling for reservations then I suggest answering the calls. OR if you don't want to take calls, don't have a phone or don't encourage patrons to call. I work in service industry also and understand being busy, I miss calls OCCASIONALLY, but if I miss a call from the same number multiple times or they leave a voicemail, I'm professional enough to follow up with them. Really bummed that this place appears to be fine dining but they've displayed only trash service. I'm expecting my visit to involve an inattentive and or rude server just based on how we've been treated before we ever get there. Even McDonald's, Texas Roadhouse etc. answer their phones during peak business hours. Do better. read more

I'm kinda a beer snob and loyal to my local brewery but wow they also brew their own beer. Old Well. I tried the hazy and it's bad a**! They also have Douglas Vineyard wine! This was my first time visiting today and it was not a place that should require reservations. our table orders two orders of the french toast as well one order of the prime rib and one order of the chicken and waffles and an order of rosemary potatoes extra crispy. The chicken was extremely over cooked but i had waited for over 20 minutes for butter. I asked that we have some melted butter since it took so long. the waitress came back with cold butter. I asked again for melted butter and explained that the food is cold now so melted butter would probably be better. Our second visit a few years later - February 2024: Two of us had dinner here for our anniversary. We made reservations. The dining room wasn't even 1/2 full during the two hours we were there (5:40-7:40pm). We waiting almost an hour for our entrees. (When we asked the status of our meal we were told that the kitchen was short-staffed). In the meantime we had to ask for rolls. The tenderloin medallions were good. (while eating leftovers the next day we saw that part of the tenderloin medallions were rare/bloody, but were ordered medium well - my husband wouldn't re-grill to eat it.). The vegetable medley seemed to have been sitting out a while; the carrots looked dry, almost dehydrated. The piece of pecan encrusted salmon was served on cream sauce by itself on a full sized place; no garnish, nothing - the presentation was poor, the flavor good. The mac & cheese side was baked - nice touch but made with a thin cheese sauce with little flavor. The side "potato cakes" tasted awful. The carrot cake was very good. Our server Reagan was great. Our first visit, 5:45pm Sunday. We were told that the dining room was completely reserved (with at least 10 empty tables) and were directed to the bar area (first come first served). Our server was great; helpful, efficient and friendly. The drinks we chose were pricey. The $7 crab chowder was very salty and almost inedible; should have sent it back. The yeast rolls (w/ butter in a basket) were small and not much to them, so much better at even Golden Corral. The brussel sprouts (a side) sounded a lot better than they were. Last night was my first time trying 73 & Main and I was incredibly impressed. An awesome refurbished building, good menu, great service, all in the small but neat downtown of Mount Pleasant. We ordered from the restaurant week menu the only time I have dined here, so we definitely did not experience the full extent of the menu, but based off what I did try, I would imagine everything is extremely good. For my appetizer I had the Crab Bisque soup and cannot recommend it enough. It had enough crab to actually have some flavor unlike some others I have tried and was a great way to start dinner. My main course was the Filet with mashed potatoes. Both were good, but a little salty for my taste, the steak was cooked perfectly. Medium rare on the inside with just a little char to the outside. For the sweet tooth's in the crowd; you need to try the Bourbon Bread Pudding. Bread Pudding may not be my typical choice for a dessert, but with everyone else ordering Chocolate or Coconut cake, I decided to try something else. I do not even like sweets all that much, but was GREAT. A slight bourbon flavor, covered with a glaze that tasted similar to Krispe Kreme donut glaze, and even had some fresh strawberries. This was one of the best desserts I have had in a while for sure! Not living close to this area, this is one of those places I wish was right around the corner. I would love to get to try some more items off the menu and spend some more time in such a neat refurbished old building. The bars (they had two different bars) would be a great spot to meet up and grab some drinks or to enjoy your entire meal!
