Out in the sticks, mainly fried, seafood joint that was cool to check out once but not worth becoming a regular given the drive from our place. Food was three stars, service was friendly and efficient. read more

Lake Todd Fish Camp - Fried catfish, oysters and popcorn shrimp. - Seafood Near Me - Concord, North Carolina

This is the fish camp to go to for really good flounder. The pieces are nice and thick and battered just right. Cooked to perfection and not oily at all. The servings are generous. The iced tea is fresh, and the servers keep your cup filled. The atmosphere is just what you want if you are fan of the old-time fish camps we used to have around here. It reminds me a lot of Laney's Fish Camp that used to be in Mooresville. I put the food on par with what you would get at Calabash. Just remember that this is a cash only restaurant, no credit cards are accepted. Summer hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. We are now regular customers. 7-30-2026 read more

My father-in-law loves fried fish!! When the patriarch says "let's go to Lake Todd Fish Camp " in Kannapolis/ Concord, the troops mobilize!! Located in a rural setting West of Kannapolis, LTFC is nestled in the woods. It has limited hours, but serves up very good fried flounder, catfish, shrimp, fried pickles etc. CASH only. Good service. Our waitress was on point with 10 people. The food has been consistently good. The small plate option is perfect for me and my wife as there will be plate sharing. read more

Onion Rings were fantastic the place was hot so go on cooler days. Everything is portioned controlled but there was more than enough to eat and the service was excellent read more

Food cold and overpriced. Server had attitude and doesn't know menu. Overall poor quality and poor service. Avoid.

This place is awesome and we should have visited earlier since moving back to the area three years ago. Service was spot on and seafood platter was excellent. It's in the middle of country, but about five miles from our home. We will definitely return for the seafood and sweet tea. read more

We love Lake Todd!! Everything is always good and cooked just right. The only downfall is cash only, but you can always count on the fish being delicious! read more

It looks like a cabin in the middle of nowhere- which is great if you want out of the crowded streets of Mooresville. Our server was a very sweet Southern lady that made sure our cups of sweet tea were filled and she gave us a bit of history of the place. *** Important Note: Our server informed us that the restaurant had GHOSTS- apparently it is known locally - but as we were visiting from out of town we had no idea. So this may affect your decision as to whether you wish to stop here or not. *** As for the food, we had the Seafood Platter - their slaw was very different, it had cocktail sauce in it. To tell the truth I do not think that the majority of the food is prepared here- more like it is heated up from frozen... read more

This place was AMAZING! I'm visiting family in Concord and was hoping to find a celiac-friendly restaurant-found this one on the Find Me Gluten Free app with a 100% celiac safe rating, according to one reviewer, a relative of the owner has celiac disease so they understand it well. I read that they had hush puppies and just had to try it-gluten free Southern food is so hard to come by! It's down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere and there's a big sign that says cash only when you walk in-a little intimating at first! But once we were seated and met the server she was so sweet and so was everyone seated around us. I asked about their gluten free procedures and she said they make everything separately, which was music to my ears. I ordered fried pickles, a small catfish filet and hush puppies. They took a while to make the food, which to me was a super good sign they were being careful not to cross contaminate my food with gluten. When it came out in could hardly believe my eyes! Real, golden-brown fried food! The only way I knew it was gf was because they brought mine out separately and my hush puppies looked different than my cousin's, who ordered regular ones. The taste---y'all, I was transported back to all my wonderful childhood memories visiting my family in the South and getting that delicious cooking I couldn't find anywhere else. It helped that the restaurant is so cute with lots of vintage decor and the staff was friendly as could be. Truly reminiscent of a simpler time and the food was just out-of-this-world. My two native Tennessean adult cousins, my husband, my extremely picky toddler, my 9-month-old, and my 8-year-old cousin all ate every last bit of their food. The true definition of a HIDDEN GEM. I already can't wait for my next trip to NC so I can visit again. read more

Lake Todd Fish Camp - GLUTEN FREE and CELIAC FRIENDLY!!!! hush puppies, catfish filet, fries, cole slaw - Seafood Near Me - Concord, North Carolina

We went to Lake Todd Fish Camp to eat here for the first time this weekend. Celiac friendly. Waitress says they have a family member with celiac and everything gluten free has its own dedicated space and the owner's and staff are very aware of it. Everyone was so friendly and sweet. Top notch customer service for celiac knowledge, menu options, a cozy little restaurant that takes you back to a simpler time. Located at the end of a gravel road with beautiful scenery. It is a cash only place. Tea has unlimited refills and soda is in a can charge per can. I am celiac and didn't get sick from my meal. I got gluten free popcorn shrimp, fries, hush puppies, white slaw, tarter sauce, shrimp sauce. And sweet tea. It was all delicious! We will definitely be back! read more

It's been a while but I have never been disappointed with the fish and all seafood served @ Lake Todd FC. Glad they are still around so many fish camps are disappearing! read more

The food was excellent and the service was good as well. It's hard to believe that they are really in the country of Mooresville and you had better have great directions but when you get there, it is well worth it! I've lived in Mooresville for over 30 years and didn't know they existed. You don't have to advertise when you keep a full house all of the time! read more

**This place is cash only** Today I ventured into rural Cabarrus to try out a location that I have heard about for years but never tried. I admit that I felt a little unsure about the place as we turned into the driveway. The restaurant is small and rustic. It's a throwback to the 60s and 70s. I am so glad we went in and gave it a chance. Below the cash register the sanitation grade was displayed. They currently hold a 96! That is good for an older building. The dining area was dated but very clean. I felt a sense of nostalgia by eating there. I enjoyed the atmosphere. The waitress brought us a menu that was a notebook. The first two pages of the menu was the food and drink items. The last three pages detailed the history of the business. They even offer gluten free menu items. I decided on the fried flounder with a side of okra and macaroni salad and hush puppies. My wife got the Calabash shrimp with white slaw and onion rings. We were both very happy with what we ordered. My flounder was thick white meat cooked perfectly. The wait staff was very attentive. They looked out each other's tables. We were well taken care of. I can't wait to visit this little gem again! Don't be taken aback by it's small rustic appearance- the food is good. read more

Just what I've been looking for! An old style Fish Camp! We loved the food, it tasted great and was reasonably priced. PLUS they can do almost anything as gluten free! I say again, this fish camp can do most of their fried seafood as gluten free! That's REALLY hard to find. read more

Lake Todd Fish Camp - a plate of food - Seafood Near Me - Concord, North Carolina

Reasonably priced, down home country style, fresh & delicious fish in the most laid back & relaxed atmosphere. What more could you ask for? Love supporting family restaurants over chain places? Me too. Give Lake Todd's a try. One thing I wish they'd change, everything is served on styrofoam, hope they upgrade to something more environmentally conscious in the future. read more

Before I write the review, a friendly warning: this place is cash only, so be prepared. They need to put that on the door and on their website. If you want fried fish, hushpuppies, fries, and slaw, and you are looking for the exact opposite of fancy, this is absolutely the spot for you. It's as unfancy as it gets, and that's a very large part of the appeal. It's old, it's small, it's down a gravel road, and it doesn't look like much from the outside (or the inside, for that matter). And those are all positives, not negatives. The food is good, and it's very reasonably priced. You might even say cheap. If you're a fan of whole fried catfish with the bones, get that. Otherwise, go for the fisherman's platter (fish, shrimp, and oysters). Service is friendly and food comes out pretty quickly. It's also good for kids. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Lake Todd Fish Camp - Whole fried catfish. - Seafood Near Me - Concord, North Carolina

The prices are way too expensive for the little bit of food u get. The food was too greasy, tasteless. The table had a roach; gross! Won't go back. read more

If you want fancy, this isn't your place. But if you want a casual dining experience with awesome food, this is a hidden gem! You drive down a long gravel driveway into the middle of the woods to a rustic cabin "aka fish camp" locale. The menu is made up of southern home style yummy food like fried flounder, shrimp, deviled crabs, hush puppies, "red" slaw, collards, etc. They serve large portions for reasonable prices with friendly locals as your servers. We love supporting local businesses - this "fish camp" has been family operated since 1962! Have gone several times and experience remains consistent. Only downside is that they only accept cash. read more

I wanted some good fish last Friday, 9/25/2019. I asked a very close relative, whom lived in the Iredell Cabarrus area, she said Lake Todd food is good, off Hwy 3, but She stated she didn't feel comfortable dining in there, she didn't explain why, so myself and husband drove from Charlotte to check it out. I wanted to dine in, so my food would be fresh and hot, When we arrived we wasn't greeted properly, maybe they didn't know any better, but that was our first time at their restaurant.I am A very bold liberal person, in which, I feel every race creed and color should be treated equally. I didn't feel that in the atmosphere at all, when myself and husband sat down, of course we had to find our own seats, in which is ok, but it seem like everyone in there, even the youths act if they had seen someone from out of space. Very unfriendly atmosphere, to the point we had to get up and leave, without ordering. I am from this area grew up and was raise in this area and lived in this area until I got Married, I have a lot to say, but this isn't the platform to voice it on, but if you don't want to welcome or eat with any other race other than the white race, you should have a sign that says for whites only. I grew up when it was signs like that in Iredell, Cabarrus, Catawba, Rowan, Lincolnton, and Union counties, there are plenty others, but these are the counties where I visit or lived at. As A young lady I fought hard behind the scenes to make it a better place to lived and work in that area for all race, til the point my father stated I had to leave town , because they had Labeled as a Black Militant, and it wasn't safe for me to live there , being a young country girl , I asked him what did that meant, and he explained it to me. I couldn't tell no one what he shared with me , so at 17 years of age I moved to Charlotte to live with an Aunt until he told me it was ok to come back. When I went to that Fish Camp it took me back to the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s . I can't apologize for this review , I am not telling anyone not to go there, but this is what happen to myself and my husband...and if it has happen to anyone else, speak up,,,,,Think about it!!! No I will not recommend or go back there to eat, And I have white and black African Americans friends... read more

Dad and I found this little old time fish camp gem on my last visit. Bring cash and an open mind, step back 40 years and relax. Good sweet tea, fried fish with all the old time basics. Take a minute to read the history pages of the menu. read more

Awesome! If you don't go you're missing out!!! Fish is great! Sides are great! Love the atmosphere! People are friendly

Being from the North, I had never heard of a fish camp before so didn't know what to expect. With my wife being Celiac and GF, this place comes highly recommended from her Charlotte Celiac Connection. Almost everything is GF, pitchers of Sweet Tea, awesome hush puppies and amazingly fresh seafood! A bit of a hike from my neck of the woods and only open Thursday- Saturday I think. read more

Old fashioned fish camp with good food, a little out of the way but we drive 15 miles to get here every couple of weeks

One of the last old times fish camps left in our area. It was traditional to go to the fish camp on the weekend growing up. The food is good, prices are good. You MUST read the history of this place that is with the menu. You won't believe it. Needs to be a movie! One note- it is a cash only place. No debit/credit cards. It is very causal place. Nothing fancy. read more

If you like old time fish camps, this place is for you. Down a gravel drive, inside a cinder block building, you'll find some of the best seafood at prices you won't believe! You'll have to eat off plastic plates and drink from Styrofoam cups, but I went for the food, not the atmosphere. The service is top notch(mother and daughter), I just wish they had banana pudding for dessert. Be aware they only accept CASH! read more

Eating at Lake Todd Fish Camp reminded me of a place that we along with our family's best friends. We used to eat at Hide Away Fish Camp on Monroe Road back in the 70's. Lake Todd's reminds a lot of Hide Away. Lake Todd's is at the top of my list right now. My husband and I found this place about 3 months ago and we go every week. They are CASH ONLY and are open THURSDAY, FRIDAY and SATURDAY ONLY. I think their seafood platter is $13.95, considering in Mooresville at the fish place there I bet their seafood platter is probable $20 or more. My husband and I will definately be going back to eat at Lake Todd. Dave's favorite Fried Flounder, popcorn shrimp and clam strips with red slaw and for $9.95, I usually get the Flounder, shrimp and oysters. I would recommend this fish place to anyone who loved places like Riverview Inn that served the Belmont and Charlotte area for so many years. read more

I really like this place. I normally get the shrimp flounder plate. The fish is always fresh. The only thing I don't like is that they are only open Thursday-Saturday. It would be nice if they were open on Sundays even if just for a few hours. read more
