    Whole fish plate with fries
    Sherita S.

I called in a to go order!! The food was hot and ready! I was more than satisfied with the hand size whole catfish and fries. I took this home and smashed! I walked into the to go side therefore I'm not certain of the actual restaurant ambiance. I would assume it was great because the parking lot was PACKED!!

We were visiting the area for a few days and this place was recommended by a family member. We all met there and were seated quickly. Our server was quite gregarious, efficient and attentive. He kept our glasses full and managed our table of 7 with no difficulty. The meal started with the delivery of baskets of mini hushpuppies to the table while we waited for our orders to be filled. A few minutes later, the salads arrived. When the main orders arrived, I was amazed at the portion sizes! We ordered burgers, catfish, blacken salmon and perch. All of the food was delicious! it was well seasoned, without being overly salty. The fried fish had a flaky crust and was cooked perfectly. the blackened salmon was tender and good. I would have preferred a bit more blackening but I like it spicy. Did I mention the portions were huge? I have a large appetite and I was not able to finish all of my food, something that almost never happens. As we finished our meal and prepared to go, the server offered drinks to go. That was nice. Well done. If I'm ever back in the area, this will definitely be on my list of places to revisit.

The hush puppies were a great start the shrimp were good I think they needed garlic butter. The fries were greasy and the onion rings were good. The stuffed flounder was said to be over seasoned the potato and collards were good. The meals are way too big i order grilled for light meal it was good. But I would have liked my meal better smaller with less calories and less money.

this is a wonderful place to celebrate my wife's 53rd Birthday! This was our first time coming here, the food was great, the menu choices are amazing. we was seated fairly quickly for a place this busy. Our waitress was a busy bee zooming around the floor from one place to another. this was a wonderful experience being here, we will be back!

Great friendly service, the food is hot and delicious, but of a cafeteria environment loud and busy but the food is worth it.

Prior to going to Captain Steve's, I had only heard of it from my mom as she is a frequent visitor with her friends. Let me just say, I see why they visit so often. The food was sooooo good. The fish is so tasty and it's fried to perfection. They provide you with a substantial amount of food and I can almost guarantee you're going to ask for a box as soon as they put your plate down and as if you need anything else! While the food is great, just an FYI, everyone knows that. So, be prepared to bring an appetite but also your patience because it will be busy. The ambiance it provides a family type of outing and a chill experience.

Pick 3: tilapia, jumbo shrimp and chicken tenders. Everything was fried well. The fries are decent (could use some seasoning)

This is a great family spot. The restaurant is clean and the wait staff is friendly. The platters are plenty enough to share or to take a doggy bag.

Wanted some seafood and my coworker recommended this place! And boy am I happy I tried it. Ordered pick up, during lunch they have the captain's platter for only $20, and you get a ton of food. It comes with a flounder filet, fried oysters, fried scallops, jumbo shrimp, baby shrimp, and deviled crab along with hush puppies. I had the coleslaw and fries as my sides. Let me tell ya this was able to feed two people with some left overs for the next day. Very satisfied with my food and will def be back to try something else. P.S. Get the chocolate cake!

My husband and I love coming here because the food is good but also the portions are huge! I have tried many plates from here and have no complaints! We always end up bringing food home. The service is always good and staff are friendly and helpful with suggestions. The decorations are cute as well. It's a sea theme.

Including my other favorite, red snapper. The menu has a ton of options. I kept it light and just ordered the basa sandwich and a side of fried okra. Love me some okra! The basa sandwich did not disappoint! They give 3 nice size pieces of fish. Perfectly fried. Not greasy. It was hard to tell what all I could have on my sandwich since that wasn't visible on the menu but the owner insisted I could build it however I want. So I did mustard, lettuce, tomato, cheese on a bun. I got my tarter sauce & hot sauce on the side. She served my sandwich w/o the cheese due to it not over powering thr flavor. I was too hungry to care so I ate it anyway. I can eat it with out without but since she didn't charge me for the cheese, I didn't complain. It was so good I never sat it back down once I picked it up. Sandwich in one had, my free hand grabbing the fried okra bites. The fried okra was also fried perfectly but could have used a little more flavor. Sometimes it's tricky with okra bc too much seasoning will make it unbearable. I'd rather it have less seasoning than too much. Would order it again! I also grabbed a lemon pound cake. Not sure it if was actually lemon and couldn't say anything while there since I ate it once I got home. The size of the piece was huge but was more on the dry side and didn't taste lemony. Could have been traditional pound cake. They have a lunch special for $10 I saw on the street sign while leaving. I'm definitely coming back! Damn near once a month if I can. But will for sure be a regular. It's located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking!

The restaurant was busy but not overly so. They were able to seat us right away. There were lots of delicious items on the menu. My friends all got the salmon (two grilled and one fried). I got the crabcake because I just have to be different, I guess. They brought out cornbread muffins with honey butter that were delicious. They were really soft and cake-like and the honey butter topping was awesome. Two of us got side salads for our side and they came out with the meal, which isn't my preference but the food came out quickly any way so it was fine. The side salads were MASSIVE. Lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions (removed from mine) in a huge bowl. Probably could have been a meal to itself. The food came out and there was some confusion on sides that were mismatched and all of the salmons were grilled (instead of the one fried). Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I kinda wish I had gotten the salmon because it looked amazing and really well seasoned. The crab cake I had was good too. I think it had their Garlic Parmesan Cream sauce on top. The crab cake was big and had plenty of crab. I think I would have preferred a traditional tartar sauce on the side. I got their mac and cheese for my other side. It was super creamy and cheesy. It was also topped with the garlic parmesan cream sauce. Very tasty. Service was good. Not ton of visits to the table but I don't think we ever wanted for anything.
