    Poke Lakes, Cornelius
    Bruce K.

Great service, fresh fish, wonderful food. We stopped here for a late lunch that ended up being our early dinner. Mrs. K. and I do enjoy poke and it fits well when I'm on my keto diet. My vacation officially started this afternoon, so I'm not on keto. My bowl with tuna was on a brown rice base! Delicious, lots of different textures here and a big portion considering that this was the "small." The young lady at the counter was friendly and helpful and put together two of their "bespoke" bowls but asked along the way if we wanted to customize in any way. A delightful meal and we'll be back to Poke Lakes. [Review 1013 of 2025 - 4359 in North Carolina - 24567 overall]

Marinated Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Avocado, and Sushi Rice with Ponzu Sauce, Green Onions, and Sesame Seeds. So amazing!

Easy 5 stars. Their ingredients are fresh and flavorful and they don't skimp on the portions. I typically get the same thing every time and absolutely love it as a healthy lunch option... Half scoop of sushi rice, green onions, avocado, marinated tuna, spicy salmon, and top it off with ponzu sauce and sesame seeds. Also I have to mention how incredibly friendly the staff is. Every time I come here I'm greeted with a welcome and a smile. They happily answer any questions I have and it just feels like great vibes here. So glad Poke Lakes is here a part of the Cornelius community!

First timers and it didn't disappoint. Our food was very tasty, everything was fresh. They were very welcoming and friendly. The place was super clean and inviting. A little pricey but hell what isn't lol, we will definitely be back.

    #5 Molokai bowl - yummy!

My husband and I enjoyed a weekday lunch at Poke Lakes after our neighbor recommended them as a place to try. We both love poke bowls, and the convenience of either choosing a menu item or making a bowl of your own makes this place a winner. My husband had the #5 Molokai bowl. I customized my bowl with a salad base, cucumbers, seaweed salad, avocados, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, poke sauce, coconut ginger sauce, sriracha aioli sauce, and tempura flakes. Their bowls are generously filled with very fresh ingredients, and I couldn't finish all of mine. We both loved the spicy salmon and tuna, and would definitely get this mix again. And I love that you can have a low-carb meal here! The only downside is that the prices can get kind of high when you add multiple ingredients that cost extra. Our two bowls with water and a soda were $34.30. We noticed the staff cleaning the tables as soon as customers left. The place was exceptionally clean, and the staff were quite friendly and helpful. We'll definitely return!

Saw that Poke Lakes was finally open and took the opportunity to visit. I am always looking for good Poke and this is relatively close to my house. I didn't realize that they are part of the POKE Bros chain. Service was quick and I made my own POKE bowl. The ingredients were fresh and I felt that I got good value for my money. I will be coming back here when I am close. Always looking for a healthy bite to eat. Please support this business.

This poke bowl was soooooooo good. And fresh! I got spicy tuna and salmon. Added seafood salad and (fresh) mango. The employee recommended eel sauce and two others i can't remember... just ask them and they will put you on. It's delicious. Couple of tables right outside to eat at. Right next door to cycle so it's too easy to go right after class.... 10/10

Had this delivered by ubereats tonight - wow!! Probably the best poke bowl I've had! So fresh, no skimping on the fish or avocado, and affordable compared to some poke spots!! Will be stopping by frequently

Seaboy absolutely delivered. From the outside, the building is understated and looks more like it belongs near the beach at Oak Island. Once you step inside, however, it is clean, classy, well-appointed, and charmingly coastal without being overly themed or tacky. It feels like the premium restaurant it is. We didn't make reservations because we arrived at 4:30 on a Friday and never expected the place to be completely slammed that early. Jackie, the hostess, took our name and phone number and promised to call as soon as something opened at the bar. Since there wasn't much room to wait inside, she encouraged us to relax in our car. Sure enough, about 15 minutes later, she called and made sure we got the first two available seats. Samantha, the bartender, was both an excellent server and a talented mixologist. She was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, somehow keeping up with all the drinks for the dining room without allowing anyone at the bar to feel ignored. I told her I wasn't much of a drinker but gave her the name of a liquor I enjoy. She created her own cocktail for me, and it was a solid 10 out of 10. Could I walk in and order that exact drink again? Probably not. Would I trust her to surprise me again in a heartbeat? Absolutely. My wife started with a shrimp appetizer that she said may have been the best shrimp she has ever eaten. I had the Caesar salad, which was the only part of the meal that was merely okay. It was beautifully presented, generously portioned, properly dressed, and topped with excellent cheese. Unfortunately, the dressing lacked the bold, savory punch I expect from a great Caesar. Our entrées, however, were phenomenal. I ordered the swordfish, and it was so good that my wife essentially took it over because she liked it even more than the seafood pasta special she had ordered. Fortunately, her rich, cheesy seafood creation was outstanding, so I was perfectly happy with the trade. I polished off her meal, then finished whatever swordfish she left behind! We ended with the deconstructed Key lime pie. It was flavorful and enjoyable, although, like the Caesar, I felt it could have used just a little more refinement. At one point, the chef and owner came out to the bar, shook our hands, introduced himself, and thanked us for coming. He stayed for a little friendly conversation, which was a genuinely nice and personal touch. Those minor critiques aside, the service, food quality, atmosphere, and hospitality were all excellent. Seaboy has immediately become one of our favorite choices for a premium meal, and the overall experience was absolutely five out of five. We will definitely be back soon. To those about to nosh, we salute you!

We were seated and expressly told a specific waitress would be taking care of us then nothing, I mean absolutely nothing thereafter!!! No complementary water, no bread basket not a single person saying someone would be right with us - just complete radio silence. We looked around and realized we were the only two people of color in the restaurant as well. Finally, a young lady started approaching, and we assumed she was headed our way instead she began catering to the table across the aisle from us a table that was seated a full 10 minutes after we were!!!! She introduced herself to them and lo and behold. It was the very same waitress we were told would be caring for us. We assumed she would get to us next, but she did not. We waited five more minutes and then walked out! On our way out. I summarized our experience with the manager, a very pregnant young lady. She apologized profusely and nearly begged us to return and allow her to personally service, but my husband was completely OVER it. This was our anniversary we chose this place to celebrate and the night was now ruined. I have never used the race card in my life, but as I explained to the manager the complete lack of service and failure to even acknowledge our presence in the building felt very intentional. The manager did gift us a generous gift card, which I still have yet to use. Maybe I will maybe I won't but the damage to our special night was already done.

There is an outdoor patio, as well as a front dining area where the bar is, and a rear dining area with visibility to the kitchen. The front and rear areas are separated by a glass waterfall sign bearing the restaurant's name. We had an absolute outstanding server named Saige. She was attentive and made great recommendations for us. To start, we had Caesar salads. The presentation of these was unique, having somewhat of a ruffled appearance. For the second course, we tried the sautéed shrimp with Cajun spice and charred bread as well as bacon wrapped scallops with Calabrian tomato jam. Finally, for the third course, we had the hanger steak with blue cheese butter and new potatoes. I love blue cheese, and I really loved it as an addition to this dish. Every item I tried, I would order again. Unfortunately, we didn't save room for dessert, but we've heard they are fantastic...next time!
