Stopped by here after around of golf nearby, because I was craving poke on such a hot day. They had great reviews and we're on the way so we wanted to give it a try! The interior has Island vibes and was clean overall. We were greeted and both employees were polite, friendly, and happy to help. There were some tasty menu options, but we definitely loved the idea of building your own bowl. Lots of toppings to choose from and you can add as many as you want. I appreciated the dietary notes as well as the up charged topping options that we're clearly labeled. Hawaiian Poké has made its way to Fort Mill. Named number 29 on Yelp Charlotte's best 40 new restaurants in 2019, it was top of my list to try. I popped in for a togo order. I created my own bowl. I chose the sushi rice with shrimp as my protein and added sweet onions, green onions, corn, pickled ginger, carrots, masago and crab sticks. I topped it with wontons strips and crispy onions and garlic. I mixed the coconut ginger sauce and the sweet soy sauces. I enjoyed my creation. It was full of fresh ingredients and everything mixed well together. I will get extra sauce next time. The process was speedy and the worker was very pleasant and helpful. The places was pretty empty during my visit. No one was eating inside and I decided on togo before entering. The staff seems to be following safe Covid precautions and they have a large partition to limit contact with food and employees. We came to try this poké place because we love poké and it's pretty close to where we live. We saw it only the Yelp Best New Places to Eat in Charlotte list for 2019. Covid-19: I really haven't been a fan of most places I've gotten takeout from in South Carolina so far (since there aren't as many restrictions). This place was good though. It didn't seem like they were allowing dine in at all. We were the only ones in there getting our food. There was only one employee who was wearing a mask. We got our food incredibly quickly and headed back to the car. I got a build your own poké bowl. Unlike most places, they only have one size (I'm not counting the kids size). I went with spicy salmon and ahi tuna for my protein (half and half). I did a salad bowl and added pickled radish, onion, green onion, carrots, edamame, seaweed salad, and avocado. For sauce, I got Sriracha aioli. I really enjoyed the bowl. It was a good portion size. It seemed like they didn't have quite as big of a variety of toppings to choose from compared to other places, but the bowl was still good. Fresh fresh fresh! I love a good poke salad, because it's a healthy, low carb way to get over a sushi craving. And, Poke Bowlz hit the spot. I was blown away by the freshness and variety of toppings. They have the typical ones like corn, edamame, and carrots. But, I love that they had masago (roe), ginger, fresh jalapeño, oshinko (pickled daikon), and cashews as well. I found this place sometime last year and then for some reason couldn't figure out where I had had the most amazing, fresh, poke bowl I'd ever had. I think I found them on DoorDash but recently found it again and my goodness it did not disappoint. The ingredients are always super fresh and the portions are plentiful. I'm impressed with how Poke Bowlz is operating during COVID: Carry-out only. Face masks mandatory. Glass shield separate the customers from the food and the employees. It finally happened. Tega Cay has poke! And it's fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. It's located where the Subway used to be. I walked in and did a double take as I saw a familiar face I used to see at Peking Tokyo down the road. Yep. It's their new concept. So there are some flavors you can order from the menu or you can build your own bowl. And all can be made with white rice, sushi rice, brown rice or salad greens. There are fresh proteins to choose from. If you don't like raw, there is cooked shrimp and chicken. There's even a spicy chicken that I highly recommend. And of course there are tons of toppings and sauces. I went with The wave which had shrimp, chicken, edamame, pineapple, green onions, carrots, cucumber, avocado, corn, poke sauce sweet soy and Sriracha aioili with brown rice. The rice was perfect. Similar ingredients but a little variation and the sauces make the difference in flavor profile. The decor was OK, for a new place the floor distracted from everything. My Half & Half Bowl (1/2 Shrimp 1/2 Spicy Salmon w Pineapple, Salad, Srirachi Aioli, & Crispy Onion) was delivered at 8:52PM. This was the freshed, sweetest tasting seafood I've ever had. As a 60+ year old, lifelong coastal Savannah, GA resident, I have extensive experience in this area. I moved to Rock Hill in Mar. 2022 and never imagined quality seafood of this caliber would be available. I can't wait to make my way through the rest of the Poke Bowlz menu. There were a lot of ingredients to choose from but not too many that it was overwhelming.
