I have heard that they are under new management so I decided to give it a try. They now have more Korean street food and still have Poke bowl. First of all the service from the staff and owner are excellent, they care about their work and passionate about making this place excellent. Poke bowl, the tuna and Salmon tasted great. Kim chi fried rice tasted excellent, it's has a great texture and flavor on the rice. Yubu Pockets with salmon and spicy tuna are packed with flavors, it tastes great with spicy and a hint of sweet. I will get that again. The best surprise is the dumplings, i normally used dumplings sauce, but these dumplings are juicy and you don't need any sauce with it. Also talking to the owner, they are going to have more Korean street food in the future. They will have K-dog, I can't wait to try those. Within just a couple of weeks, they have already established a lot. I can't wait until they got everything going. This little area is now full of different Asian restaurants and cafe.

This place recently reopened and rebranded and it's AMAZING!!! They have added more Korean street food and even have instant ramen which you can add toppings too. The staff is so nice and it's super cute inside! I got the tuba mayo kimbap and it was super delicious! Can't wait to try the other ones they have. I also got two different yubu pockets. These, specifically the crab one, was the winner for me!! The pocket it self flavored so well with the grab. I ended up getting another one!!! Will definitely be going back to every time I'm in Charlotte. They need to add boba tea and this would be on one stop shop!

I ordered Poke Cafe to try it out since it offers both poke bowls and Korean street food. I ordered through Door Dash, not on dash pass so we had to pay for $3.99 delivery fee plus all the additional fees. The Korean food we ordered (K dog, kimpop, etc.) were good but the poke bowls were disappointing. We paid an additional $2 for avocados in our two BYOB to have basically rotten avocado. There is no way the person making the bowls did not notice. I rather not have had the avocado at all and been refunded. This absolutely impacted my view of the restaurant and will not be ordering from this place again.

Such a good place for some Korean corn dogs and other snacks! It was so yummy! 11/10 on service as well! They also have a cute neon sign with the name of the restaurant on it! The owner was so sweet! He brought us a dessert that was delicious! Will definitely be returning soon!

The food was fabulous!! The best Kdogs in Charlotte, hands down!! The Kimchi Fried Rice was delish!! Cute bowls!! Tried their Yubu which was very tasty and their kimbop! Can't wait to try their other menu items!!

I got take out the other day and had a customized poke bowl. I selected brown rice, ponzu sauce, ahi tuna, yellowfin, edamame, pickled ginger and pineapple. I had also ordered macadamia nut crunch topper but found out too late that they were out so no topper was included. Would definitely go back as food was tasty and reasonably priced.

The food was so amazing! I had a poke bowl with tuna and a cheesy K-dog with potatoes on it. My goodness gracious it was so tasty! The staff is genuinely knowledgeable about their food. Two of my sisters have issues, one can't have gluten and one can't have dairy and there were so many options for them. Wonderful place to go!

I am thrilled to eat Poke! I ordered the Large bowl with salmon, ahi tuna and spicy salmon (3 meats) Seaweed salad is extra $1 and divine! I added masago, cucumber, edamame, pickled ginger, pineapple and sesame seeds and cilantro toppings. The tempura crunch topping is a delicious contrast. I think the price is worth the cost, it's like sushi rolls--you pay good money for quality tasty fish and it's a wonderful dinner. I had heard about poke for months and it's fabulous, like sushi grade tuna and salmon. Fabulous fish like this is meaty and savory and yummy!! The service is great and I enjoyed my first experience with poke! Parking is easy and I will definitely return for more poke meals.

Finally! Poké is spreading in Charlotte and finally a poké cafe not far from my house! Unique to Poké Cafe is it's Hawaiian influence and citrusy flavors. It is brand new and the service already exceeded my expectations. I built my own bowl with spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and bluefin tuna with poké sauce, eel sauce, and aioli drizzle. It was Alohaoohlala ono (that's delicious in Hawaiian)!

It was better before they added 45 things to the menu. Back when it was just Poke. It's straight but Poke Bros is better.

The flexibility in ordering the amount of protein portion for BYOB and the unlimited options for toppings was right down our alley. They were so accommodating for my bride, asking her if she wanted items on the side for items she was unsure (she goes to poke because I like it :) We both really enjoyed our bowls and this is our new "go to" for poke. There are a few street spots for takeout and then a garage that seems to require payment. I never did figure that out. Poke was great. We tried the "First Timer's Bowl" and the "Tuna Bowl", both of which were good portions with a nice variety of flavor and texture with a good portion of fish. You can also build your own. Prices were decent considering that this is a few ounces of sushi-grade fish with lots of toppings. A nice meal, very enjoyable, perhaps a little steep if you were actually buying two. But with the BOGO? Yes, that's pretty darned awesome and now that we've been here, we'll be back. [Review 2394 of 2024 - 3853 in North Carolina - 23407 overall]

Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas. Given the location, you'd expect the service to be A1. Instead, I was highly disappointed. Our server was friendly enough and did share the popular items, which I appreciated, but the follow-through from the kitchen didn't match the expectations that were set. I went with the recommended Panther Roll, and it was not at all what I expected -- it came out half-baked and lacking in both flavor and presentation. The crab Rangoons were even more concerning; they were fried in what tasted like old oil, leaving a heavy greasy aftertaste. The batter itself didn't seem right, and overall they were difficult to enjoy. I've worked in the hospitality industry for seven years and recently started writing reviews to offer honest feedback that can help restaurants improve. I genuinely dislike writing negative reviews, but this visit left me no choice. Konnichiwa has the potential to be a hit with a more engaged, enthusiastic staff, consistently hot food, and some attention to kitchen maintenance -- especially the fryer and oil. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I truly believe with a few adjustments, the experience could be much better.

Review for Optimist Hall…read more As a foodie who relocated to Charlotte from the San Francisco Bay Area, I naturally compare food halls to the iconic Ferry Building Marketplace. Optimist Hall reminds me of it -- it definitely aspires to that kind of destination experience -- but it's not quite in the same league. That said, it's still one of Charlotte's most vibrant and enjoyable places to gather and eat. This is an upscale food hall with a wide variety of options -- beer, wine, cocktails, global cuisines, retail, and plenty of energy. I've tried many of the stalls, and the diversity is impressive. There's truly something for everyone, which makes it a great place to visit with friends or family. Parking is generally easy, and the space is clean, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. The bathrooms are well-maintained, which always matters. One challenge is seating -- there never quite seems to be enough, especially during peak times. Like many food halls, there can also be turnover among vendors, which is a bit unfortunate when you find a favorite. The setup here reflects what you often see in the Southeast: surface parking rather than garages or robust public transportation. It works, but it's different from West Coast infrastructure where you might hop on BART or a streetcar and arrive right at the door. Where Optimist Hall really shines is as a social destination. It's perfect for a group outing -- almost like a modern food truck rally. One person claims a table while everyone else explores, then you come back together, share dishes, and break bread. That communal experience is what makes this place special. It's a big wide world out there. Be curious -- and bon appétit.

It took 10 minutes to even be addressed by staff in the lobby, where there were numerous people waiting to be either sat for dine in, order placing, and order pick up. A table of 4 walked in right before me for dine in service. Then I placed my to go order. All I ordered was pan fried gyoza and a side of steamed rice. I had a discount to add, which the hostess did not know how to do, so I had to wait for someone else to come to the front in order to pay. Someone finally came up and I was able to pay. While I was waiting on my food, I noticed another woman was there to pick up her to go order and she was not addressed by any staff for almost 15 minutes. I continued waiting for my food for over 30 minutes-for a single appetizer and side of rice. By 45 minutes, I was letting other people that came in know how long the food was taking. Another woman who was waiting on her to go order heard me say it had taken a while and said she had placed her order ahead but a lot of time had still elapsed by the time it was ready. They brought her order out and I had to ask another server if they could check for my order. When they finally brought it out, it had been over 45 minutes. As I was talking to the server, the party that walked in before me for dine in service had finished their meals and were leaving the restaurant. I asked for a refund, which the server obliged and apologized for. Once I got back to the office and opened my food, it was disappointing to say the least. The "pan fried" gyoza was barely fried, and the dumplings were so gooey that they were sticking to each other and the plate and falling apart. Every time I try to give Jinya a chance, I am disappointed again and again. After returning to the office, I spoke with other coworkers who have all had similar experiences recently. Suffice to say I definitely won't be giving them any more chances.
