Starting with our drinks, we both had coffee-which I would return for the coffee alone! It was bold, curious, mysterious and honestly had me asking for the name of the coffee before I left! We had a server in training, so two servers! Both were outstanding! Quick to refill our drinks and remove plates that were empty. The food.....let me just say I not only spoke with management, I also was able to speak with the head chef to give my praise. I am not one to sing false praise, trust me. When I tell you I have never, ever, had a brunch as delicious as his!!! I am a French toast connoisseur, and his was a 12/10! There was not one bite of food that wasn't outstanding. I was truly impressed, with his creativity and his attention to detail because it shined like a diamond from the front of house all the way down to the sweet lady filling the cakes when I was taking my pictures for this review! "Let me get it all full and pretty now before you get those pictures!" I mean, if she wasn't just the sweetest thing, and took 100% pride in her work. Same with the gentleman working the omelet station. He came in the day before to prep the fish (which is a long day of work!) The love they put into each dish truly shines through effortlessly! With permission, personally, I would suggest they rename their Sunday Brunch to "Soul-filled Sunday Brunch" because #1 I left ready to go to sleep! #2 I had a religious experienced during that meal, in blessings and dining I have only ever had at Church Potlucks! #3 It elevated some fancy and some common foods to such heights, I was expect to be hearing gospel music while I ate! #4 Personally, I hope heaven's banquet table is much like today's-full of love, flavor and most importantly-community! Everyone from other diners enjoying their brunch to servers, sous chefs to the top man himself-not one person wasn't smiling from ear to ear. It's been near a decade since I've seen that many smiling people all in one place! While I will have to limit how often I come for Brunch lest my clothes start shrinking! Edgar's by far, takes the trophy for elevated dining experiences in Augusta, Ga! Best of all, a percentage of all their sales goes back directly into Helms College (located in the same shopping center.) Helms college offers hands-on education in culinary arts, health services, and industrial trades like HVAC/R. Keep up the amazing work, I eagerly look forward to dining with you again!

Food was well seasoned and portions were good for the cost. Started off with the Visalia Onion Dip and Bravas and Brussels. Then for main meals I got the daily special which was a Blackened Pork Chop over Mashed Potatoes with a side of Crispy Brussels Sprouts. My wife had the Prime Rib which was seasoned to perfection. Our kids had the Blackened Salmon and the other had the Chicken Caprese. Everything tasted great and we had wanted to go here and finally did and will most likely be back again for a different dish or two... and sorry I only got one pic of the drink we got, oops.

I'll tell you what made me unhappy. We were there on a 95 degree day. When we were seated our waitress brought us a carafe of water and 2 glasses. Room temperature water and no ice. I asked for ice and she brought us a cup of ice. Not really enough for 2 people and it melted down as soon as I poured water over it. I figured that the only way I would get ice was to order a drink, so I ordered ice tea. That usually comes with ice. Right?? Well our waitress said that she had to brew me a fresh cup of tea which when you pour that over ice the ice melts away and again I had a glass of room temperature tea. I couldn't get a cold drink here to save my life. And did I mention that it was 95 degrees out? My wife ordered a Rubin sandwich, not realizing that it was a spicy sandwich. One bite and she was done. She doesn't like spicy food so I traded her for my simple bacon egg sandwich on a bagel and I had her spicy Rubin. And it was spicy! They had a mustard that must've been made with jalapeño and if you like heat, you will like this. Plenty of parking. Full bar. Clean restroom. Very average.

The parking lot was busy but I was able to find a spot and we were seated right away even though the place was very busy. Our waiter, Tabb, was very nice and helped make our evening experience even better. We had several appetizers and all were good. Then we ordered a skillet with crab cake and shrimp in a creamy sauce made with crawfish. It was the star of the show! The band was good. Not too loud and they played a good mix of music. I would definitely go back here again.

Appetizers was Boom Boom Shrimp... Outstanding!!! What a great appetizer! We ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of tots and Philly cheese steak sandwich also with tots. The Philly cheese steak was delicious with tender, seasoned steak, peppers and cheese. The brisket sandwich was good however got a piece of fat cap which took away from the overall sandwich. I had this sandwich before and it was on point! Service: Excellent service, our waitress was so nice and accommodating. Ambiance: I loved the decor... all the wall art was incredible and the life size mannequins of Ali and what I suppose is Bret Farve really was an attention grabber.

The restaurant is unique on the inside and gives a somewhat hole-in-the-wall bar vibe (but cleaner). During the day time, I would say it is family friendly, but at night it can definitely get rowdier so go at your own risk, it is called Whiskey Bar after all. The burgers are very good and are cooked very well with lots of options for customization. I always go for the classic WB(K) burger with Swiss cheese and pickles. The waffle fries are always so crisp and yummy. The same goes for the potstickers as an appetizer. Even their other burger combos that seem strange are actually pretty good if you are into that type of burger. The service is always pretty good. Friendly staff that was quick. Not a long wait on a Tuesday night, but have definitely waited before on a Friday or Saturday. They have a first come, first serve bar as well. The tables can be somewhat cramped depending on where you are sat and it is definitely not an accessible place as the entrance is crammed and all the tables are high tops on the inside, the outside is better with low top tables and benches. The Diet Coke was okay. A little syrupy so their ratio on the fountain soda machine must be a little off. Still good, but I have had better. Overall, one of the best burger restaurants in Augusta and most stop place in the area!

The ambience has changed, the food quality has changed and serving sizes have definitely decreased while prices have gone up. A favorite go to has been their Crab Chop. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, two orders of Crab Chops and steamed oysters. When the fried green tomatoes arrived they were not the quality we have received every time visit. The breading was a different flavor and texture, the tomatoes were not hot. They seemed to have been prepared earlier that day. The steamed oysters we ordered were delivered to the table raw. We sent them back and when they were delivered again they were prepared correctly but they failed to bring any horseradish or lemons. Our Crab Chops were overcooked, not warm enough and borderline tasteless. Rather than embrace ourselves in front of our guests we let everything slide. Apparently new management has taken over and as a result food quality and ambiance has suffered.

Service was Amazing throughout the entire experience, so Kudos to the establishment for that. The food looked great but tasted okay. There was no flavor. We had to do a lot of adding salt, pepper, & sauces to make it palatable. I was expecting it to taste like I was in The N.O. For meals to be as expensive as French Market Grille has them, you would expect better. The dessert was good. I will definitely not rush back to eat more, but I will one day try them again in hopes of better tasting dishes.
