Prices are reasonable, service is friendly and attentive and the food is great. Highly recommend!

First and Last experience. The Server said "the Edamame takes 4 minutes in the microwave" Came for lunch with my 90 year old mother. Ordered Chile Relleno and Edamame, my Mom ordered Egg Rolls and Tempura Apsaragus. We asked for everything to together, starters and entree. Everything arrived except the Edamame. The Server said it was on its way... I ate slowly thinking the Edamame was on its way, about 20 minutes passed so I got up to ask the Server, but the person behind the bar asked if I needed help. I said Yes, I ordered Edamame and it hasn't come out yet, so I guess I'll get it to go, or if it's not ready then forget it. A few minutes later the server arrived with the Edamame in a to go container. I did ask there was sauce with it...I was thinking it had the glaze I usually have with Edamame, she said there's no sauce and I just said "you know what, I don't want this" she took it back. Then the Manager appeared with the Edamame and said she would take it off the bill and they were going to throw it away if I didn't take it, so I took it. The Server came back to the table and I asked what happened with the Edamame, because I couldn't figure out how or why all of the other food arrived and it didn't. The Server said "the edamame takes 4 minutes in the micorwave" and I said exactly, it takes 4 minutes so why did it not come sooner if it takes 4 minutes. She just kept repeating "it takes 4 minutes in the microwave." I kept asking how does that explain why it never arrived. As I was leaving she came at me from across the restaurant telling me this was her place of business and to "get out!" something about being "too old" and to "act like a grown up" and that DID NOT! and WAS NOT! going to apologize. She was young, probably "Gen Z" given "the stare" she gave me when I began to ask what happened with the Edamame and why it arrived 20 minutes after everything else and her answer was "it takes 4 minutes in the microwave." She could have said "I'm sorry, my mistake" something, anything, but instead she stared and smirked at me from the back of the Restaurant. Personally, I'd let her go after she ran across the restaurant, yelling at me and kicking me out of the restaurant. Holding the door and yelling "get out!!" My 90 year old Mother who can barely see anymore...I felt so badly for her. What a nasty rude child working there. She should be let go. 100%. First and last time. Too bad, the food I was served was great. The Server was not and I'll never be back again. Oh! she blamed the cook because it takes 4 minutes to microwave. Still makes no sense. Sushi was really good. Service was very fast and friendly. Have been here three times in two weeks. Not pictured was today's visit, which we tried the tempura asparagus, Susan roll, Micki roll, and the rock and roll again. The Susan roll was very crunchy and fresh. The mayo sauce was perfect on top. The eel roll (rock and roll) was good, as was the Micki roll. There was only one other couple dining in, so it was nice and quiet. I ordered a lot of stuff I was excited to try. It was so disappointing. Fishy at best. The asparagus was not cooked in the tempera asparagus. They looked good, but they were hard and raw in the middle. The rolls all tasted very fishy and not fresh. The tuna tartare was extremely spicy, and it didn't say it was spicy in the menu. The shrimp taco was overly spicy, and it never mentioned it was spicy on the menu. The only thing edible for me was the cucumber salad because it was just cucumber. My order was a Togo order so I can't speak about the service or how the inside is but the food was not good to me. read more

I had placed a Togo order over the phone didn't really get a thank you for calling how can I help you all I got was the name of the store. no conversation starter. I placed my order for a veg roll. When I got home from pickup and tried to eat the roll was not right at all the carrots wasn't even shocked or blanched properly, even asparagus as well the rice wasn't even cooked correctly either. one reminder quality over quantity will keep consumers. take a step back and take the time to make it right than just selling food. takosushi definitely didn't start that why to what I remember. Arrived today for lunch at 12:45 received my appetizers at 1:05. I ordered my appetizers and entree at the same time. It took 30 minutes for sushi that I never received. It wasn't until after I asked to pay for what we already had that conveniently the sushi was ready. I accounted for it being lunch time and it might be a little busy but everyone who entered after us was already eating. I am very saddened to be writing this review as I normally find a silver lining when mishaps arise but now I'm left hungry returning to work. read more

I really wanted to like this place as it was highly praised by my sister who lives in Augusta. It's not like it was bad, it just wasn't that great. And I'm not sure where the fusion part was. The menu is literally southwest food items and then Asian food items. No asian burritos? Carnitas roll with chicharron topping? Some actuall fusion? We sat at the bar for lunch and the bartender was great at making recommendations and tending to us throughout the meal. The asparagus appetizer was pretty good, but had a ton of sauce on it. The crazy roll had a fair amount of mayo as well. We should have clarified, but ordered the 8 hour smoked pork burrito plate and were a little disappointed to find the pork was almost barbecue-like. If I had realized that, I probably would have ordered the Carne Adovada. I guess the concept works if you've got a group torn between cuisines. The problem lies in that unless that is the situation, there is better sushi out there as well as better southwest cuisine. read more

Had takosushi the other day with some friends. I ordered the tempura asparagus, spicy tuna tartare tako, some drinks, and chicken and chorizo quesadilla. Tempura asparagus (4/5): This was the highlight. Nice crispy tempura batter, big crunchy asparagus, and an addicting teriyaki glaze and spicy mayo sauce. Great start to the meal and would definitely order this on return visits. We ordered two batches of this and honestly would just order multiple of these in the future. Spicy tuna tartare tako (3/5): A spicy tuna roll essentially in tortilla form, this was a decent order for me but didn't particularly stand out in terms of tuna quality compared to any other tuna sashimi/sushi I have had in the past. Had some sriracha and creamy sauce inside and assorted shredded carrot and cucumber. Chicken and chorizo quesadilla (3.5/5): Chicken/chorizo quesadilla was solid, pretty big portions and came with beans and over a bed of lettuce and rice. The quesadilla tortilla was nicely charred and the portion sizes were generous. The filling was cheesy and I liked the combination of chicken and chorizo, would probably order this over the seafood options The margaritas were similar to other places at Augusta and went well with the meal. Not sure about the day, but service was noticeably slow and refills or drink orders took quite some time. Not a bad experience overall and would return mostly for the tempura asparagus. read more

Just moved to Augusta and needed a good sushi spot. Got the tempura asparagus, gyoza, and a couple rolls. All of them were amazing. I specifically love the American/japanese crossover that they did. The service was amazing. Our server was very attentive, but left us alone when we got our food. Only complaint is that the restaurant was very cold. I'm sure they have gotten the heat fixed by now. Tako Burger, good burger. It would've been better if it came out how I ordered it. Therefore, not impressive. Fries hot but nothing special. Cherry Margarita, signature drink. Good flavor but a little strong to my liking. Server apologized for my burger but didn't offer to make it right. I wouldn't have sent it back because sending food back isn't my thing unless it's totally inedible or cold. But an offer to make it right is good customer service. There's an outside seating area with heaters. Inside, If you're not into REALLY cramped spaces, you're not there customer. I would possibly return, only to try the sushi. We came here to a use a gift card that was recently gifted to us, with a pretty large value on it. Unfortunately, we found out at the end of our meal that they were NOT ACCEPTING GIFT CARDS! Tip: Friday and Saturday night expect a bit of a wait. I've been to the Evans location for lunch before. For dinner with my girlfriend, we decided to try out this location at Surrey Center. Takosushi is known for having a mix of Japanese and Mexican types of cuisine. In front of the restaurant is a cute little outdoor garden set up with fencing and a lawn chair for people to eat outside. We opted for indoor seating because of the cold weather. The indoor was a bit tight and I assumed is set up like a long hallway. We order a Cuva champagne and my girlfriend ordered the Margarita. The margarita came out a bit syrupy and after a couple of sips. She stopped drinking it. My Cuva champagne tasted like regular supermarket champagne. Nothing special. Tonight we stuck strictly to the "East" menu, which consists of several sushi rolls and my ordering of regular sushi. My dish of Volcano roll was spicy and the mayonnaise type of sauce on the top was good, just the tuna in the roll itself was not fresh. You can see from the picture the Tuna looked a bit old. The same can be said for the spicy tuna roll. The tuna again did not taste fresh. My girlfriend ordered the Greenville roll which had a mix of different seafood, which was good, but she mentioned that it was inconsistent throughout the roll with some cuts not getting any sushi at all. Our favorite we both can agree on is the Unagi, which from the sushi menu along with the Saba and Maguro were the highlights of the night because fish tasted fresh and was not drenched in any type of sauce. Overall I would stick to the sushi menu and avoid many of the rolls because they seem to mask the freshness and taste of the fish. read more

I was craving sushi and my sister was in town so we decided to go here. Upon arrival, they have the host outside and outside as well as indoor seating. It wasn't too cold so we decided to sit outside. I ended up ordering the potstickers, stuffed chorizo peppers, and sushi. Everything was great, but I loved the potstickers and the stuffed jalapeños. Everything was piping hot and fresh. Our server was very attentive and our food came out fast. All I needed was alcohol to make it an evening, but decided against it because I had a long drive home. The drink menu has some pretty tasty sounding drinks. Next time I'll have a driver. Lol read more

Don't come when you are hungry. Came for lunch, been here 40+ minutes and still waiting with no food

Been going here for years and always loved it. Tonight was vastly different. I had to call three times before anyone answered the phone. When I went to pick up the servers standing around doing nothing couldn't bother to look and locate my takeout bag in full view. An employee clearly doing more than her share of the work finally helped me. No big deal, right? Well, I brought the food home and the sushi smelled fishy and tasted bad. I threw it out after one bite. Nothing like flushing $15 down the drain. The nachos had no lettuce, tomato, guacamole. What kind of craziness has this placed turned into?! Obviously very poorly managed. Such a shame to see such a great place go downhill. read more

We have been to the Aiken locations many times and have had great food. We went to the Augusta location today and it was not good. We won't be back. The rolls were about half the size as in Aiken, there was barely any filling (mostly rice) and they forgot to put the avocado and cucumber inside the roll. The shrimp tempura in one of the rolls was very over cooked, dark brown and tasted more like a pre-breaded frozen shrimp you would get at a bar. At $15.99 per roll they should be tasty with a decent amount of filling. The wait for the food was long, approx 30 minutes. We left very disappointed and still hungry after a $50.00 bill. We did tell an employee/manager who asked how everything was and she said the sushi chef was new and she would let him know, That was it. Do not recommend. read more

Some old friends of mine had decided to get together and visit, and I suggested taco sushi because I've had excellent food and service there in the past. However, this time was the worst experience I've ever had our food and service was wonderful up until the very end, when our server started to clear the table and asked us if we could go ahead and leave as there were people waiting to sit. I let the server know that we were not quite ready to leave for two reasons. The first reason was that it was pouring down rain outside, and the second reason was, we were still trying to visit with each other. Our server than later came back a few minutes later and cleared away our drinks, which we were still drinking. He also left a dirty cleaning rag and a bottle of spray on our table and said that we just needed to leave. I have never been asked to leave a restaurant in my entire life. We asked to speak with a manager who told us that the policy at taco sushi is to ask patrons to leave if they have been there for an hour and a half and people are waiting for a seat, however, we had only been there an hour and 20 minutes. I have never heard of such a policy for restaurants, but I'm sure I won't go back... very sad for a yummy food spot. read more
