Stopped by Hibachi express the other day and ordered the full hibachi chicken order. It was a grilled chicken with a sweet sauce over some rice with mixed vegetables. Although the portions were alright for ~$11 and service was reasonably quick in the drive through, the chicken was below average. For one, every chicken piece was extremely salty. Even when eaten with the mixed vegetables or rice, it was still too much. The other issue was that the chicken chunks were all very dry and far from tender. I am not sure if I got a strange batch that day, but given that there are other cheap and reasonably fast takeout places along that strip of walton road, I recommend looking elsewhere for takeout asian food. read more

So I went thru the drivethru window didn't go inside the building, so this review is based on food and service only. Lady taking our order was nice and patient with us as week read the menu yo decided what we wanted. (We was the only one in line). The food was ready fast and came out nice and hot. I got the Teriyaki Chicken and my boyfriend got the Land Lover, we also order a side of Cheese Wontons . Everything was good I got extra yum yum sauce but my meal didn't really need it. Hibachi Express on Walton Way opened on Friday (Nov. 2). I know because I've been waiting. We dashed in for a bite after a little shopping. Good news: The service was quick and responsive to questions. The place was immaculately clean. Our orders arrived tidily prepared with bright colored, still crunchy vegetables. Bad news: Our selections were so salty as to be nearly inedible. That's my only complaint, but it's a significant one. I was shocked to try the food here and actually thought was delicious. Don't get me wrong, it's def a "fast food" hibachi, but for the money, it was pretty darn good! Went through drive thru and young lady was super friendly! I will def be back! I got the teriyaki chicken and chicken egg roll, both were good. White sauce was even tasty. I've eaten here 3 times in a week! You literally cannot beat the price for the food. It's so delicious. I get the vegetable hibachi & occasionally the shrimp hibachi. Hands down the best value for hibachi in the CSRA. I've been here probably ~10 times since 2018 and I have never once had a bad experience. The chicken and shrimp hibachi is absolutely delicious and they give you so much! I would absolutely come here before even considering any of the large Japanese hibachi steakhouses in Augusta unless I actually wanted the dine-in experience. A modest $24 plate of food at Miyako will be substantially larger here and for only ~$15. I would have posted a picture for this review had I not ate my food so quickly! read more

My favorite comfort food. The ambiance and restaurant itself isn't very nice. This is more of a takeout place which is especially easy because of their drive thru! Not going to take away any stars because the food is good. However, this time, most of our orders were messed up in some way or another. I was supposed to get extra veggies, that I paid for, and didn't get. Also, the lady at the counter argued with the person that picked up our food about something that someone else told me over the phone would be ok. A much needed change for Walton way Medical district, I work in the area and noticed that during lunch time the lines were long so I knew it was worth a try. I had the hibachi chicken which was tasty rice is just the right amount of sticky I had brown rice. I love the veggies I feel like they don't give you enough but you can order extra. My first time visiting hibachi express and honestly have nothing negative to say. The portions and pricing are super good for the amount of food you get! I got a half portion of chicken, it was delicious and still had enough leftover to have later! For drive thru hibachi it was excellent. The service was fast and the employees were super polite. This place is still fast food, but it's Hibachi and Japanese cuisine. I didn't realize this place was open when it was until I was going to another restaurant on this street and missed the turn and saw they were open and quickly turned in here. I didn't really know what to except because it was a fairly new business and I never heard of Japanese fast food. The place was immaculately clean when I walked in. This place has a drive thru window but I wanted to see what the inside was like before I checked out the drive thru window. The cashier was very friendly and seems to already enjoy his job. I started with something pretty safe, which was the Hibachi chicken. It came with Hibachi chicken chunks, fried rice, and mixed vegetables. The chicken was very flavorful and cooked very well. The vegetables were good as well. The cook put too much teriyaki sauce on my rice and drowned it. I hate my rice being drowned in anything. I like to taste my rice. The second time I came I order the Hibachi steak. It wasn't flavorful as the chicken. It seems like they just took it out the freezer with no seasoning and put it on the grill. The cook did follow my instructions this time and not add the teriyaki sauce to my rice. The second time I came, I came during lunchtime on a weekday. I was so surprised how crowded it got. I guess the word has really gotten out about this place. The cashier was very friendly and helped as much as she could. I stopped in for lunch and I want to say that this restaurant has a great size and price ratio. Staffed well.

I went here because in the other town I lived in there was a place by the same name. Much to my dismay when it wasn't even close. I got the house LoMein and I don't think they seasoned anything, it's like they braised the beef but with no seasoning. The same with the rest of the ingredients. With a huge amount of Soy sauce and liberal dunking in the Yum Yum sauce I barely was able to eat it. My thought try somewhere else. The food is a little bland, the general tzo chicken, and teriyaki chicken and mixed vegetableswere all bland, idk if they are intentionally leaving out salt or msg, which I'm thankful for but, dang they left out some other stuff too. I decided to try the food here since I was getting off work and decided on the shrimp hibachi entree for me and the chicken hibachi entree for my hubbs. The food was good - tender meat, semi-crunchy veggies - really good flavor. I especially liked the Yum-Yum sauce, which was reminiscent of the "white sauce" in your favorite hibachi restaurants. The only down sides were the fact that there wasn't soy sauce, hot mustard, or duck sauce packets, the rice is bland and flavorless (no chicken fried, pork fried, or veggie fried, just plain), and the chicken egg rolls had no taste. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my hibachi entree and would need to try other items on the menu to see if the joint is really worthwhile. But don't hesitate to stop in. read more

My boyfriend and I tried out Hibachi Express on Walton Way for the first time tonight. We ordered the food to go (hibachi chicken with vegetables and hibachi steak with vegetables and rice). As we were eating the food, my boyfriend noticed something hard as he was chewing. He got a napkin and spit out the food he has in his mouth. He discovered a huge piece of someone's tooth that was stuck to a piece of steak. My boyfriend drove back down there with tooth in hand. The lady at the counter refused to admit that it was a piece of a tooth and said it was rice and took it out of his hand and threw it away. We were reimbursed for our food however. I would definitely not recommend eating here! We will be calling the health department in the morning. read more

Came in for lunch, there were around 3 people in line ahead of us and it took around 20 minutes until someone finally took our order. You better like rice because the plastic container is piled high with rice and just a few pieces of the meat choices you order. You have to eat with a small plastic fork and you can't get the food to stay on the fork . My phone and I ate (if you can call it that) for $26 and most of that went into the trash. Won't go back.
