Sushi was really good. Service was very fast and friendly. Have been here three times in two weeks. Not pictured was today's visit, which we tried the tempura asparagus, Susan roll, Micki roll, and the rock and roll again. The Susan roll was very crunchy and fresh. The mayo sauce was perfect on top. The eel roll (rock and roll) was good, as was the Micki roll. There was only one other couple dining in, so it was nice and quiet. Will return next time I visit from Winder.

    Tempura Asparagus

I ordered a lot of stuff I was excited to try. It was so disappointing. Fishy at best. The asparagus was not cooked in the tempera asparagus. They looked good, but they were hard and raw in the middle. The rolls all tasted very fishy and not fresh. The tuna tartare was extremely spicy, and it didn't say it was spicy in the menu. The shrimp taco was overly spicy, and it never mentioned it was spicy on the menu. The only thing edible for me was the cucumber salad because it was just cucumber. My order was a Togo order so I can't speak about the service or how the inside is but the food was not good to me.

Our dinner was good as usual however the front of the house was disgusting. Spiderweb covering exit signs, trash overflowing, floors were filthy and tables were wiped with dirty rags. Every table was wobbly, we had to fix it ourself. JUST DO BETTER.

Took my granddaughter for sushi at Takosushi. I had never eaten there. I had the best steak taco I've ever eaten.

8hr Smoked Pork burrito plate. Pork is more like BBQ'd pork than southwest style

I really wanted to like this place as it was highly praised by my sister who lives in Augusta. It's not like it was bad, it just wasn't that great. And I'm not sure where the fusion part was. The menu is literally southwest food items and then Asian food items. No asian burritos? Carnitas roll with chicharron topping? Some actuall fusion? We sat at the bar for lunch and the bartender was great at making recommendations and tending to us throughout the meal. The asparagus appetizer was pretty good, but had a ton of sauce on it. The crazy roll had a fair amount of mayo as well. We should have clarified, but ordered the 8 hour smoked pork burrito plate and were a little disappointed to find the pork was almost barbecue-like. If I had realized that, I probably would have ordered the Carne Adovada. I guess the concept works if you've got a group torn between cuisines. The problem lies in that unless that is the situation, there is better sushi out there as well as better southwest cuisine.

Takosushi in Augusta, GA, rocks the sushi-Southwestern fusion with hits like the Crazy Roll and Baja fish taco. Waitress Kim was awesome--super friendly, attentive, and made the cozy vibe even better. 5 stars!

    Spicy Tuna Tartare Tako

Had takosushi the other day with some friends. I ordered the tempura asparagus, spicy tuna tartare tako, some drinks, and chicken and chorizo quesadilla. Tempura asparagus (4/5): This was the highlight. Nice crispy tempura batter, big crunchy asparagus, and an addicting teriyaki glaze and spicy mayo sauce. Great start to the meal and would definitely order this on return visits. We ordered two batches of this and honestly would just order multiple of these in the future. Spicy tuna tartare tako (3/5): A spicy tuna roll essentially in tortilla form, this was a decent order for me but didn't particularly stand out in terms of tuna quality compared to any other tuna sashimi/sushi I have had in the past. Had some sriracha and creamy sauce inside and assorted shredded carrot and cucumber. Chicken and chorizo quesadilla (3.5/5): Chicken/chorizo quesadilla was solid, pretty big portions and came with beans and over a bed of lettuce and rice. The quesadilla tortilla was nicely charred and the portion sizes were generous. The filling was cheesy and I liked the combination of chicken and chorizo, would probably order this over the seafood options The margaritas were similar to other places at Augusta and went well with the meal. Not sure about the day, but service was noticeably slow and refills or drink orders took quite some time. Not a bad experience overall and would return mostly for the tempura asparagus.

Tako Burger, good burger. It would've been better if it came out how I ordered.

food good and service good. however, bar service abysmal and slow, they need to get a bartender and not have food preparers making drinks!

The guacamole and chips were delicious. The pozole was very over salted. I ordered from home and it was packed well.

It was refreshing to see a top notch staff! Their menu offered something for everyone which worked out great for us since daughter is vegetarian. The restaurant was super clean, modern, and roomy! We enjoyed sushi, tacos, nachos, shrimp and grits (not on the printed menu but still offered) non alcoholic beer for the Hubs and a nich Marlbourough (sp?) sauvignon blanc wine for the girls. We were delighted to find a place without a dress code to have an early dinner and there were plenty of tables and we didn't need a reservation! My favorite dish we tried was the tempura battered fried olives! Wow! These were great! Flavorful, not greasy, and just a fun take on delicious olives!!!! They came with a house made ranch dressing dip. They were out of bleu cheese which I love, and I do think the blue cheese would have been even better as an olive dip. Thanks, Sole for your innovative menu and wonderful service and lovely southern hospitality!

Food is good quality here and doesn't disappoint This time 1/5 our server was extremely slow but it was ok as we enjoyed our friends we brung with this time. I had the chicken Florentine and it was just okay. The mashed potatoes were perfect! They started from scratch in my opinion but the cut of chicken was super thin for the amount of toppings. The food still felt authentic and full of true Hawaiian flavor. Coming from a family with roots in the Big Island and Maui, I can appreciate when a place captures that genuine island-style taste and atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was how they start you off with fresh in-house made pork rinds, similar to how Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa when you sit down. It was a unique and welcoming touch. We ordered the spicy poke, Spam musubis, and a mixed BBQ plate with two scoops of mac salad. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The mac salad especially had that classic island-style taste that's hard to find done right. The staff was friendly, the decor looked great, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting feel. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for authentic Hawaiian comfort food.

It had that perfect char on the outside while staying incredibly flavorful and moist inside. Definitely the star of the meal. The chicken was just as impressive. Well-seasoned. Perfectly cooked. Every bite was tender with a hint of sweetness and that signature Hawaiian-style barbecue flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Don't overlook the rice. Soft. Moist. Buttery. It soaked up every bit of flavor from the meats and tied the whole plate together. Simple, but done exactly right. The restaurant was busy, which speaks to how popular it is. The staff looked a little overwhelmed during the rush, and you could tell an extra set of hands would've helped. Even so, everyone remained friendly, worked hard, and never let the quality of the food slip. If you're willing to be a little patient during peak hours, you'll be rewarded with a meal that's absolutely worth the wait.
