Love this place when I go to the mall. Always fresh, and delicious! The service is fast, and friendly!

I love Sarku for years...2 months ago I went to the mall and got home, totally different wasn't good at all

I bought lunch today,1.6.22, and due to being handicapped put my plate in a bag to carry to my table.. By the time I got to my table, 90% of the sauce was in the bag and not on my plate. I went back to the counter and asked for extra sauce to be put in a cup with a lid so I could carry it and explained why I had spilled it due to begin with. I'm handicapped and on a cane. The employee at the checkout refused and was very rude. I then asked to speak to a manager and explained everything a 2nd time and again asked to have it put in a cup with a lid so I would not spill it. He refused, said he didn't care if I was handicapped, that wasn't his problem. I would like to report a discrimination against me due to being handicapped and being refused help due to my disability. I had already spilled it in trying to take the plate to my table. The rudest and most obnoxious people I have ever dealt with regarding my disability, and I've been disabilled for 30 years. Do not go to this place. And I believe they should be fined for refusing help to a disabled person. There is a law against this and I will pursue this against this company. read more

My first exposure to Sarku Japan was pre-yelp, in Lenox mall in Atlanta, and I would drive a good 30 minutes to get this food because this place was my jam. After yelp happened, I didn't visit sarku again, so imagine my surprise when I walked into Augusta Mall and was reunited with Sarku Japan again! Located inside the Augusta mall food court, Sarku is a hibachi restaurant inside the mall. Their claim to fame is teriyaki chicken, although don't let that fool you into thinking that's all they have, as they also have beef, shrimp and veggie entrees as well. This day I got their teriyaki chicken meal ($6.79) along with their noodles (you could also get steamed rice or fried rice) and steamed veggies. Service is super quick, going from order to food in hand in under 5 minutes. The cooks will cook the food right in front of you, and again, it takes just a couple of minutes on the hot surface to finish. You get a ton of food for the price, and you're very likely not going to finish it unless you're starved. The chicken was cooked well, slightly sweet, juicy and I did like the flavors. The noodles shimmered with grease, and also tasted like grease too. The steamed veggies were just okay. As Sarku is located in Augusta mall, parking is pretty easy to come by. This location is popular in the food court, often having a line the few times i've been inside of the mall, so just plan accordingly is all i'm saying. Bottom line, if you want to get full off of mall food on the cheap, Sarku Japan has you covered. If you're looking for quality hibachi, or at least non-greasy eats, well, you probably should keep it moving. read more

Customer service is ok, very rushed because of the long line. I asked for a bento box and it wasn't available. Location was pretty messy. Food on floor, muddy and messy. The don't clean upfront very regularly through out the day. They close earlier than all other restaurants in the food court. The food though was pretty flavorful. But nothing that stood out. read more

Me i'm not a mall person but I will hit up the food courts looking for that gem of a place to eat.A friend told they want lunch from here so knowing me and my curious self i'm down to try it. When I saw the long line and all the other eating spots were like slim on people I knew this going be a great lunch. So the chicken and shrimp with the famous white sauce was the gem of the day. Hot fried rice with juicy chicken cuts and shrimp with that special with sauce on the side. Huge portions and price wise was not bad less than $10.00 and you can never finish all this at one time so you can share(WHAT!) or save for later. Great menu selections and I must find out what that white sauce is. read more

I am really impressed with this shopping mall food. The service is quick, pleasant, hot, and delicious. I am hooked on the tender beef and shrimp combination plate. Don't be discouraged by the long lines. They have their own system in place to combat extended waiting time. Shopping and eating....Oh my!!! read more

I stop in at Sarku sometimes, they are normally very busy. It's normally a long line in the front. I normally get the chicken with double meat and no sauce at the end. They put too much of that on it and you can hardly taste the food. The workers are very friendly and the cooks normally joke and jive with you while you are waiting for you food to cook. It's fairly inexpensive for a plate here and they pile on the food so this is a great option when you are hungry and in the mall shopping. read more

Okay this pains me to do this. Sarku is one of my favorite restaurants in Augusta. The food is great and you get it fast. I love it! But I see that the trays are significantly smaller since the renovations. read more

Their food is absolutely amazing. Oh my goodness. I love their fried rice with teriyaki meat. Usually get single meat with extra meat sauce. Absolute best thing I have ever consumed ever in my life. They give amazing proportions. Really decent amount of food served on the plate. This place is amazing. read more

While visiting the mall, this is always a great place to grab food. The line is usually very long, which is usually a good sign. They don't have a ton of different options, but they excel at what they do have. The price is super affordable and the food is good. I usually just get the teriyaki chicken. If you are watching carbs, they can also substitute the rice for a a nice veggie mixture. The staff was friendly and they keep the line moving as fast as possible. Any time we go to Augusta Mall it seems like we naturally gravitate to Sarku as our restaurant choice. My whole family loves the teriyaki chicken and that seems to be Sarku's specialty. Sarku cooks your food to order so there is really no chance that you won't receive a hot, fresh meal. You have a choice of steamed rice or fried rice with your meal. I usually opt for the fried rice because it tastes very good. If you're visiting at lunch or supper time be prepared to wait as there is normally a line because of the popularity of this restaurant. Sarku is definitely worth a try if you're in the mood for some Japanese fare. read more

I'm not a big mall shopper but I stop by periodically for a plate from Sarku....The food is great the tea is always sweet and the lines are always long but they get your order and have your food ready pretty quick.... Sarku in the food court refused to serve when we came in from a game Wednesday November 1st (2017). They said they were closed and it was 836pm. We went to China Express and they GLADLY served us. I'm pretty sure that Sarku is not supposed to do that and are supposed to serve until 9pm. I did ask a friend that worked there before and she said they serve until 9pm. I've been trying to contact the manager since the day after that (Thursday). Today is Saturday. They never answer the phone. Guess I'll be calling the main office on Monday. read more
