The food is always fresh and delicious. The price is very reasonable. You can eat some now and save some for later.

Got the grilled chicken & steak, which was solid. The grilled chicken had a great char flavor, while the steak tasted like something you'd eat at a hibachi restaurant. The fried rice wasn't oily or dry, best part was how's the portion was. Got a side of 6 piece gyoza which was meat and vegetable filled; that was also non oily and fried just right. Took about 7-8 minutes for the order to come out which was a fast then around. Plenty of room for dining & facilities were pretty clean. They also have other menu items like bubble teas and ramen. Definitely a diverse menu, will certainly be back.

The atmosphere looks nice, if a tad plain. But some of the tables had to be scooted out to get into the seat and they were heavy on a granite floor so loud screeching accompanied the otherwise silent room. Fast food style service and the annoying receipt signing which fast food shouldn't have was present. Also, the toilet wouldn't flush. All over, I'm not sure it really earned the star I gave it.

The food still felt authentic and full of true Hawaiian flavor. Coming from a family with roots in the Big Island and Maui, I can appreciate when a place captures that genuine island-style taste and atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was how they start you off with fresh in-house made pork rinds, similar to how Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa when you sit down. It was a unique and welcoming touch. We ordered the spicy poke, Spam musubis, and a mixed BBQ plate with two scoops of mac salad. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The mac salad especially had that classic island-style taste that's hard to find done right. The staff was friendly, the decor looked great, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting feel. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for authentic Hawaiian comfort food.

It wasn't the menu or the entrees because it tasted about the same as any other location. It was the service quality of our waitress. I couldn't decide on my entrees and her feedback and recommendations were extremely helpful on my decision. The restaurant also has a special offer for $19.99 per person, you get 2 soup or salad, an appetizer, and 2 entrees. I think it was a sweet deal. Decided to go with the Chang's spicy chicken, fried rice, and Kung pao brussel sprouts as a side. Pairing everything with fried rice was terrific. Sauce wasn't over powering and the chicken was pretty tender. I even got the egg drop soup and it was fine, not salty compared to other places I've dined at. Overall, I loved the diversity of the menu. So many great entrees to choose from, definitely will have to come back next time to try other stuff. They also offer military 10% discount for service members. Located also in the same plaza as Barnes & nobles, great place to walk around to digest off all the food!

Given that we were separate from other diners, the noise level was conversationally comfortable. The table settings spoke of an elegance expected for a celebration to come. The food was as good as always with the exception of the sparse lettuce wraps. My whiskey old fashioned was totally as expected which is to say, perfectly good. Let's pray that this venue stays open for years to come and the current management keeps improving..

But I found this little spot in a shopping center on the outskirts and they're doing some stuff right. I was drawn in by a wallet-friendly lunch special menu, which yielded a decent variety of vegetable and tofu-based options. My tofu with hot peppers was a very credible Hunan-style dish as the place's name would suggest, with dried hot peppers and a lively black bean sauce. The option for brown or fried rice was no extra charge, or if you did want to pay more you could get lo mein instead. I added a spring roll, which compared to my main dish was a bit overpriced but was tasty and, as with the other dishes around me, nicely plated. Their menu suggests a Malaysian influence as well, and I'd be happy to return for dinner to try something different.

Skeptical at first because of the poor reviews, but the medium rare steak came out the way requested, the chicken and fried rice weren't overly seasoned, so it wasn't too salty. Plenty of tables for dining in, but I sat in one while waiting for my order and the seats were pretty low compared to the height of the table, so I personally would've not enjoyed eating my meal there. Once your order is placed, there are chefs in the back utilizing two grills to make everything from scratch. Overall enjoyed my to go experience and will be back for the lunch special.
