This is our family's go-to restaurant for good food or when we're too tired to cook. Our favorite dishes are sesame chicken, beef with veggies, egg fu yung and winter or summer, we eat hot and sour soup. We usually pick up and the Chinese wings never quite make it to the house. The gyoza is great as well. We like this restaurant because the food is always hot and fresh. The people are great and it's always ready on time. I rate a Chinese restaurant on their Egg Foo Yung and the patty's may have been good but the gravy was awful! I didn't even eat it I'm so glad they put it on the side, I'll make my own later. I got the house angel house pasta when I get it before the noodles would be noodle color, white like noodles and I got it today, the noodles look kind of reddish and it stinks like rotten pork funky so I don't recommend it or YMMV when the egg roll is funky, not crispy. read more

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Augusta. My first visit I actually came here after my dental appointment but I can eat any food yet because my mouth was still sore so I waited a couple of hours and was able to eat. It was sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and it was wonderful. My second visit I remember was after work and I had to go to downtown for something and I decided why not get some Chinese up here like I did last time. Let me tell you how much I love this place!!!!! I went here 3 times in the past week. I usually pass by this restaurant, but never stopped or thought they sold Chinese food. My brother had ordered some one evening and I fell in love with the pork fried rice and crispy general tso's chicken. I ended up ordering a lunch special on last Saturday, I ordered pork fried rice and general tso's chicken and it cost $5.65!!!! You can't beat that price anywhere in Augusta! The rice has onions and lots of bits of pork in it, best rice I've tasted in Augusta!!! The general tso's chicken was crispy and saucy! In my 31 years of living I've never had sauced chicken so crispy. The sauce was sweet and tangy. My birthday was this past Monday and as a surprise get together my sister bought a half pan party tray of pork fried rice and general tso's chicken. I talked about how good it was so she surprised me with it. The pan cost about $20. She also got a 6 piece wing for $3.50!!! Again, that is unheard of in Augusta. They were also really busy with it being a Monday. Lol This past Friday, I didn't feel like cooking so I called and ordered a half pan of fried rice with 25 honey chipotle wings. It totaled $24 and it was ready in 30 minutes. The wings were fried to perfection!!!! Fast, Efficient, Courteous Service. The drive thru was ideal for my late night food run. I ordered the Shrimp Egg Fu Yung with Pork Fried Rice and the Crab Rangoon. The price was right, but sometimes, you get what you pay for... The Crab Rangoon's sauce was good, however, the Rangoons were bland. While I could see the scallions inside of the mix, I could not taste them. It was the first time I have had Rangoons and tasted nothing from the filler; not even the cheese. They were well fried though. The Shrimp Egg Fu Yung was nice and hearty. Plenty of filling veggies and a sufficient number of shrimp. Still, it was some how bland. The accompanying sauce helped to give the dish a little life. The Pork Fried Rice was bland. Again, I could see but could not taste the onions. Then, the onions appeared to be the only ingredient aside from the pork. The free egg roll was decently flavored and well fried. NOTE: Bland does not mean there was no taste of salt/msg. Food was ready, piping hot and correct using the drive through. Crab Rangoon was a bit thick for me. I like it to be thin and crispy. The filling, however, was perfect. I don't use the sweet and sour to dip it in but I tasted it and it was pretty good. More on the sour side and not sickly sweet. Honey wings were ok. Flavor was fine and cooked well, but small. This is where it started to go downhill. Vegetable lo mein was cooked well. Still some chew to the noodles. There was zero flavor and the vegetables were cabbage, onions and broccoli. I would have liked some carrots, bamboo shoots, or snow peas. Ok... Mongolian beef is my go-to. I am convinced that even though my ticket said Mongolian beef, that is not what I got. My first impression was where is the sauce? There was some thin liquid on the bottom but nothing like the thick, silky, sweet, spicy sauce that I'm used to. Ok, no worries, let me taste it. The first flavor that hit me was Montreal steak seasoning. Did not like, don't recommend. Maybe this is their version... but I've eaten Mongolian beef from at least 15 different places in my life and this is the first time I got something like this. Will I be back? Yes. Get over yourself, he was recording me! Second, she double charged his card. I know she did it on purpose because she thought he was recording her. I guess that was her revenge. This place is really a 3.5 but in this instance I will go towards 3 stars. For sesame chicken lunch combo, without drink, will run you $7 The lunch combo comes with an egg roll, pork fried rice, and of course sesame chicken. The portion is huge. Lots of chicken lots of fried rice and an eggroll. In my opinion the portion more than enough for 2 meals. As far as taste its just ok. The chicken is well cooked and crispy. The sauce is sweet but a bit gloopy. The pork fried rice is ok. The egg roll is actually really good. Its better than any of the other fast food eggrolls I have had around here. so the pluses are its cheap and you get a huge portion and the eggroll is great. Everything was yummy. The wings are on the small side but had a lot of meat on the bones. The prices were low! It was very inexpensive and good. This was my second visit to Wing Express off of Highland. On my first experience the food was hot and fresh and the little Asian lady behind the counter was a doll, polite and friendly, food was 4 out 5 , wing was slightly under cooked. My second trip to this place was a disaster. Upon entering the door there was the very heavy set lady or man (I'm not really sure what sex but im trying to be specfic for the context of this review).. but she had a bad attitude from the beginning, no greeting when I walk through the door.....she just had a terrible look on her face as if I shouldn't have been there.....it took her awhile to even ask what I wanted. The wings were average but the wait took awhile, once I got the wings to the car you could tell that they had been out of the grease for a min. They weren't very warm.....season was lackin....custermer service is everything and it failed miserably. I gave this spot 2 stars because of the convenience of the drive through. You must call to place the order prior to picking it up, but the process of picking it up through the drive through is great. However, the food isn't great. It isnt even good. The best thing I had was an egg roll. I'm still in the process of locating a great take-out chinese food location in Augusta, GA. I'm personally on the fence about this place. I've ordered food from here several times over the last few months, and each time is a game of Russian roulette. This last time was a miss for me. The lady at the counter was very friendly and sweet, and she made sure to ask me if I needed anything while I waited or if I needed any extra condiments or silverware with my food. However, my food was not so nice. My wings were TINY and over cooked, and the Mongolian beef and the Szechuan beef tasted the exact same. It was bland and soupy and the beef was very very tough. I was not a fan. I have ordered the same items here before, and it was absolutely fantastic! I can't be sure if maybe it was just an off day for the kitchen, but I'm hoping for more consistency from this place... especially since the next closest Chinese restaurant to me is on Washington road (and who wants to deal with that traffic?) read more

I would say the best take out Chinese around Augusta. The Egg Foo Young is delicious, huge portion. The crab rangoon delightful! Almond Chicken is good, not the best I've had but still good. Pork fried rice was lightly fried with plenty of pork. Service is fast, ready in ten minutes from call to pick up and they have a drive through window. This is the takeout place! read more

It's a funny thing about Chinese restaurant's. One persons favorite place is somebody else's worst ever. I believe the psychological aspect of the whole thing is, what's your favorite go to dish and is it tasty at this or that place. I have tried several items on the menu. My go to dish and how I rate a place is egg foo young. Can't be greasy and small. They knock it out of the park. Great fried rice too (veg.). The wings can be hit or miss but the soups and egg rolls are fantastic. I probably have had about a 3rd of the menu and have to give them a 4 star total. Way better than a lot of places.
