My regular Chinese spot was closed for vacation (good for them, bad for me) so I tried out this place for dinner. I looked at their menu beforehand so I had a good idea what to order. I thought it was a good sign there were a couple of people in the drive thru line. I ordered the steak hibachi (with vegetables and fried rice) and crab Rangoon. It took a bit of time in the drive thru, and when it came my turn to pay, I then had to pull up and wait because they said it would take some time. No problem. Almost 15 minutes later, my food was finally ready. I got out of my car (defeating the purpose of drive thru I guess) to get it. It was surprisingly heavy! When I got home, I opened the box. The vegetables were not at all what I was expecting for hibachi. Majority cabbage, carrots, corn, and a few pieces of broccoli. A TON of rice. The steak looked over cooked, and... it was. Tough and chewy. I only ate the broccoli if the vegetables. The rice was bland too. Disappointing overall. I tried the crab Rangoon hoping it would be the saving grace. Sadly, no. They were chewy and the sweet and sour was runny. I probably will not return to the place... hopefully my regular spot will never close again. Haha read more

If you blink you'll miss this little hidden spot in the mix of all the businesses on Washington road. I passed by one day and made note to stop by the next time I passed through since I enjoy trying out local small businesses. The drive through is very convenient since most other places like this only offer counter service. It does say express but they still cool your food to order and will take 5-10 minutes and I ordered just 1 plate. I ordered the hibachi chicken meal which at plane sight does not look that appetizing but the flavor and juiciness of the chicken was all there. I would have preferred it have some kind of sauce on the side but maybe I need to get the teriyaki chicken next time. The portions were huge, tons of chicken and rice with a few broccoli pieces to make you feel semi-healthy as you stuff your face. There is a decent list of options on the menu as well so there is likely something for everyone if asian-style food is what everyone is craving. If you don't feel like waiting to make it all the way home to eat and need to eat some quickly, they have a few parking spots available to chow down and save the rest for a whole other meal. read more

Absolute worth coming here. I had no idea what their menu look like so I'm glad I had a chance to get to look at it and I was quite surprised about the prices honestly. I intend on getting a lunch combination but I want of getting vegetable fried rice instead. When I opened up that container I got my money's worth of that fried rice. Had been going my entire life and the place obviously has new ownership-- I am sad to say I will never be back. My go to has always been the ham lo mein. Previously, it was clear that the noodles were fried and just well made with tons of flavor. Now, the noodles taste like they came out of a bag, mushy, and more like over cooked spaghetti noodles with no flavor at all. The combos used to come with ham fried rice, chicken wings, and then the combo you ordered. Now they come with basically white rice again-- with no flavor. I have been a customer for years and consistently good. The menu has changed which was my first alert. The prior owner never had below a 99 health rating and almost always it was a 100 - this new ownership sits at a 96. When I got home, it's more like hibachi then Chinese and very bland. under new management and awful! I repeat AWFUL! We ordered Beef lo Mein, beef fried rice and 6 cream cheese wontons. The lo Mein noodles are NOT the ones I'm use too and slimy and down right disgusting. The prices have went up and the food has gone down. The wontons are usually covered in sugar and these we got were just fried and that's it. We waited 20 minutes to get this and didn't know the place had new ownership. Always, always, I'm on the hunt for a Chinese place. Because, you really need that one Chinese place that you can call your own. That is what brought me to Ming House yesterday afternoon after a long, well, afternoon. Over the course of my time here in Augusta I have driven by this little takeout place and wondered what it was like. Now I will wonder no more! There is a drive through, which is a plus, and the staff were friendly, another plus. The prices are pretty fare, especially after seeing the amount of food you get. This was our favorite Chinese restaurant in our area for years. Recently it closed and the sign said for "remodeling" Once it reopened we were so excited to eat there but we found out that the restaurant was sold. The previous owner retired. The food was not the same and not good at all. we will never go back again. Very sad. read more

I am a sucker for fast Chinese food. The first time I pulled up, I got out of the car to look around and found that it only a drive-through! Now that's what I call "express." I hit this place up when I find myself coming back from Target or Best Buy and need an eggroll/crab rangoon fix. And twice a month, I'll have a terrible hankering for lo mein or soup so I make it out here rain or shine. I feel like I'm in "Dude, Where's My Car?" when I pull up and the snarky voice says, "Hello, what do you want?" Sometimes, it's an older guy, sometimes it's a younger college student age fellow and sometimes it's a slap happy man that is undeniably my favorite window guy. I don't have a favorite for the moment, but their crab rangoons are mouth watering good. My only problem with this place is that they don't have enough spicy dishes. They have General Tso chicken and Mongolian Beef but that's not really spicy so rooster sauce and garlic sauce is definitely necessary after a visit from this place. This is down and dirty, quick and easy, huge portions of delicious Chinese Food. This is a family-owned restaurant that rarely if ever employs outside their family. Just a drive through window, no seating, no delivery, no frills. Just really really good food. They have easily the best chicken fried rice in the city of Augusta. Sometimes I just get a huge boxed order of it and eat on it for days. The Chicken and Broccoli is awesome, and they have really good sweet & sour chicken as well. I'm really picky about my Chinese food, and I'll admit, this place looked like it was going to let me down. It's a small little box on the side of Washington road, surrounded by tiny strip malls and auto body places. But don't let it's looks fool you. This food is awesome! I usually test places out by ordering one of my old favorites, shrimp in lobster sauce. They did not disappoint! Lots of shrimp, great flavor and texture. The basic fried rice has ham in it, which struck me as odd, but very tasty. I also got two wings with my order. I wish I had bought more. Easily the tastiest, simplest wings I've ever had. Eggrolls are basic and tasty, and the cream cheese wontons.... Well, I was surprised to see them coated in sugar and lacking crabmeat! But it was a very pleasant surprise, as they were a sweet, delicious treat for after an awesome meal! We will absolutely be back!! read more
