Food is traditional. Not too sweet or salty. They are home cooking style. I like them a lot! My favorite there is mapo-tofu.

Ask for spicy chili oil on side.

Ambience. A Service. A Food. A Price. A Found on Wrightsboro across from Augusta Mall. New look and signage. Lots of parking lot parking. Clean ambient lighting booths and table seating. Also, a bar area to sit and wait. Makes custom cocktails according to menu. Nice easy jazz music playing. Staff was friendly greeting and seating and attentive serving. Menus are clean and a plethora of menu options. Just ask the server to recommend. I suggest picking a meat and then type of sauce flavors you like. Sweet, umami or both?!!! It's been decades since I've been to MingWah. I worked at the first one in Walton from 1975-1983. It's definitely changed and upgraded looks. I'm a fan for good ole Augusta American style Chinese food. I had to move away to understand what REaL Chinese food is all about. But if you grew up in this area. Then you'll be familiar with everything on menu here. Heh. Enjoy!

Best chicken wings ever. I've tried other restaurants in town and no where else compares. They no longer have the buffet but have a full menu. Great prices and large portions. 1 meal can easily be shared between 2 people. Service was friendly and fast.

First off, nice place, clean, updated. Looking at the menu I was a little worried. Almost just left when I saw sauce packets instead of a bottle of soy sauce on the table. These are the brown water packets, not a decent brand. No lunch menu and pretty expensive. They charge extra for any and all changes from the basic menu item. $4.25 to switch from pork to chicken fried rice and $1.75 for extra sauce. Super slow, I got my drink and ordered quickly but took over 30 minutes to get my food. Garlic Pepper wings were good. Generals Chicken not good, I asked for spicy, sauce was not spicy and unremarkable flavor. Chicken was soggy and lots of breading. Fried rice (chicken) was ok but expected fresh for the $4.25 extra charge, it was still dry like it was a large pot in the back. Overall, trust the rating, this place will disappoint you if you like good Chinese food and the price is outrageous considering the quality.

Tonight my husband and I tried New Ming Wah for a date night. While we eat a lot of Asian food, this was our first time in 13 years trying actual Chinese food in the CSRA and this was one of the very few places we found that seemed geared to dine in service. Overall our entire experience is best described as mediocre. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was outstanding either. The decor and ambiance are all visually appealing but the booths while clean and serviceable are just flat wooden benches and not overly comfortable. The service was also just adequate. We were seated politely, a server took our order and our food was delivered but at no point would I describe the service as friendly or engaging. It met the need for the job and nothing more. As for the food, we have just one question: why is everything sweet? No really, why is everything we ordered sweet? As an appetizer we ordered the crab rangoon. They came out hot and freshly fried with a side of red dipping sauce. My husband and I both agreed that while they weren't the best we've had they also could have been much worse. The red sauce (this is how the server referred to it) looked and smelled like sweet and sour sauce but was very thick, almost to the point of jelly thick and was just very very sweet. I ordered the Mongolian beef meal with pork fried rice and a spring roll. Textually the pork fried rice was great but it could have used more seasoning. The spring roll was good but not mind blowing. The Mongolian beef itself was listed on the menu as being spicy. There was absolutely no spice anywhere in sight. As a beef and vegetables in brown sauce dish this was alright. A large serving of meat and vegetables in a good amount of sauce, but that is not what I ordered. So while I ate it and was satisfied, I was also let down by not receiving the advertised flavor profile. My husband ordered the orange chicken meal. This was also advertised as spicy. Again absolutely no spice. The weird thing was that it smelled spicy and you could visibly see the red pepper flakes in his dish but there was no heat in the mouth or throat while eating it. It almost felt like all the sauces were thickened with a pre-sweetened cornstarch slurry that overpowered any spice that was in the dish. His egg roll on the other hand was fantastic. We both agreed the egg rolls were good enough to go back just for them. Our star breakdown would be: Food: 2.75 Ambiance: 4 Comfort: 2 Service: 3 Value for price: 4 Pork egg roll: 5

Beef and broccoli wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Overcooked broccoli and mushy rice.

A few months ago, I had to wait all day at Doctors Hospital for a phone call about my dad's surgery. My cousin was in town from Atlanta and went to New Ming Wah to pick up our order. I ordered the Orange Chicken and my cousin ordered their beef and broccoli. As soon as I put the first bite of orange chicken in my mouth, I knew I wasn't going to finish my plate. Every bite tasted oily and of seafood. The menu shows a red pepper beside all spicy dishes and there was 0, zilch, nada. Just sweet and fried with white rice. It tasted too fishy and sweet and I didn't care for their overcooked beef and broccoli either. My cousin hated her meal. She asked me to taste it and asked my opinion. I told her that as bad as she thinks hers is, to taste my chicken. She agreed that it had no heat and tasted fishy. I really wanted to enjoy my lunch and I've eaten many lunches from the old Ming Wah., but I can't see myself chancing another bite of greasy seafood tasting chicken!

    Wonton (skins)?

Friendly staff I am torn about the review on the food. So let's start with my appetizer. I order fried wonton. I got was just the wonton skin fried, no meat in them. I was a bit confused on this. We also order the Chinese BBQ ribs, which the meat was soft and tender, the sauce I felt was a bit to rich, this is a personal preference that I don't like the sauce it was marinated in to overpower the meat. Now the main dish. We ordered the Cantonese Fried Rice, which was delicious, I could taste the bits of onions, eggs and chicken, bbq pork throughout the dish. Highly recommend. Another entree we had mixed feelings on was the Scallops with garlic sauce, which the scallops and vegetables were perfect, just the sauce was more of a sweet and sour sauce that took me by surprise. The last entree Sa-Cha beef was pretty good with the beef and broccoli and assorted vegetables packed in. I preferred my meat, thinly sliced, but the entree was delicious but again by surprise had a bit of sweetness in it. This is my first stab at this restaurant. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes.

Probably one of the last places at standing that still offer the orginal recipe of chinese style wings. The buffet line is gone and you have to order options from the menu but everything is cooked fresh.

When I tell y'all I eat from here 3-4 times a week because the food is sooo good. I've tried multiple entrees from here and they all were good especially the rice.

I agree with the 3.1 rating. Service is fine. Drink is fine. I ordered the pork chop suey. It's a big dish. Lots of fried veggies with a few pieces of pork. The rest is fried cabbage onions water chestnuts and water cress. I mean it's only 13$ but this is cheap cheap. I can make this much better at home

After browsing their menu online, I called in a to-go order and headed over. The restaurant wasn't too busy when I arrived, which made for a smooth pickup experience. The entire staff was incredibly welcoming, and multiple people checked to make sure I had been helped while I waited for my food. The dining area was clean, spacious, and had a relaxed atmosphere that made me wish I had more time to dine in. Their menu is packed with options, pho, traditional Vietnamese dishes, seafood, vegetarian choices, honestly, narrowing it down was the hardest part of the visit. I was looking for something lighter without a mountain of noodles or rice, so I ordered the Seafood Stir Fry. This was easily one of the freshest and most flavorful Vietnamese meals I've had in a long time. The bowl was loaded with crisp vegetables and plenty of seafood, all perfectly seasoned and cooked. It came with rice on the side, but the portion was so generous and satisfying that I barely touched it. The prices were reasonable, the portions were large, and the service was excellent from start to finish. If you're in the Augusta area and craving flavorful, fresh Vietnamese food, Pho Viet Augusta absolutely deserves a spot on your restaurant list.

The food still felt authentic and full of true Hawaiian flavor. Coming from a family with roots in the Big Island and Maui, I can appreciate when a place captures that genuine island-style taste and atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was how they start you off with fresh in-house made pork rinds, similar to how Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa when you sit down. It was a unique and welcoming touch. We ordered the spicy poke, Spam musubis, and a mixed BBQ plate with two scoops of mac salad. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The mac salad especially had that classic island-style taste that's hard to find done right. The staff was friendly, the decor looked great, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting feel. The bean sprouts were a bit salty. Chili cucumber was well seasoned and refreshing, and the sliced fish cake was the highlight with a slight sweet and sesame oil flavor. Each dish supposedly comes with a banchan, but if you eat with another person, then you get 1 set of banchan only with 1 refill and additional refills cost $2.50 which was different from most cities I have been to with a more established asian food scene (Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, etc). jjajangmyeon 4/5: The jjajangmyeon had decent portions. The noodles were really nice and chewy, and the sauce on top had a slight sweetness to it that made it different from the chinese jiajiang mian I normally eat. There were plenty of zucchini and onion pieces, and the pork was tender and just a bit fatty which I enjoyed. Highlight of the meal. Kimchi Jjigae 3/5: The kimchi jjigae comes with kimchi, tofu, and pork pieces in a stew and a side of rice. The stew itself comes out piping hot but is almost 90% kimchi and minimal tofu and pork. Very few pieces of tofu and pork, unlike the jjajangmyeon which had more generous amounts of pork. The rice bowl it comes with is quite small. We ran out well before the kimchi stew was completed, and they charge $2 for rice refills. Overall, the food was decent and service is solid. Pricing was slightly steep with a bowl of jjajangmyeon (noodles with stir fry pork sauce overlying) running at $19 and a bowl of mostly kimchi and a few pieces of tofu/pork pieces costing $17. Their banchan/rice refill policy is questionable, but the food scratches the itch in a city with a smaller Korean population and minimal competition.
