Stopped in on impulse for lunch as I was in the area. The store appears to be takeout oriented, but there are a few seats to dine-in. I chuckled to myself because there was a boat for sale in the lobby. At midday there was a steady stream of pickup orders being retrieved. I was warmly greeted on arrival. My order took about 15ish minutes to prepare. The Subgum Wonton was awesome. The veg was tender but still crunchy and the meats (shrimp, beef and chicken) were wonderfully velvety, moist and delicious. Unfortunately the wontons weren't appealing because they were fried very dark and the filling wasn't moist. From my experience, I'd gladly revisit to try other offerings. I'm glad I tried this place after getting gas at the bp station. The beef and broccoli with white rice was delicious and loved how close by it was. Normally you got to go a few ways out before finding a good chinese restaurant around, but this one was very close so I didn't have to drive that far at all. I had low expectations with China Garden, but it was lunch time when I found myself in Augusta, and they were nice enough to throw a flyer in my mailbox, so why not? I ordered their lunch special general Tso's chicken ($5.45), which came with a choice of either steamed or pork fried rice. The place was empty when I walked in around noon on a random weekday, service was fast, food was okay. As others have mentioned, this is basically the same take out "Chinese" menu found in hundreds of cities across Georgia. Is China Garden notable? Only in price, because they do give you nice serving sizes on the cheap. In terms of flavor? Not really. More of a take out place, there are a few tables for dining should you want to. Located in a strip anchored by Kroger, there's tons of parking here as well, so that should never be a problem. Would I come back to China Garden? Again, it would definitely be based on the price, because the food was just so so. I wouldn't rule it out is what i'm saying, but I doubt it'll be anytime soon. read more

First time ordering here via DoorDash. First, let me say, for a Chinese restaurant they are a little pricey. Chicken Teriyaki with plain fried rice. Chicken was way overcooked and had no seasoning or sauce on it whatsoever. Rice was hard like it had been left over from the night before. There were some juices at the bottom of everything but it was not a nice thick teriyaki sauce like you would normally get from a hibachi. Would not order again. Mongolian beef with side of vegetable lo mein. Mongolian beef was delicious. Perfect amount of spice. Lo mein was a little overcooked for me but full of fresh crisp veggies. Chicken wings were delicious but so so small. Most of them were one biters. Will probably not order wings again from there. Crab rangoon, which I ate so fast I forgot to take a picture, was absolutely delicious. Probably the best I've ever had in town. The filling was plentiful and tasty with the edges being nice and crispy. I think I will order again from here At some point and try some other things. So overall not that impressed but willing to give another try. read more

Not Vegan Friendly EVERY Chinese restaurant I have ever visited from Missouri to DC I order General Tao's chicken and ask that they substitute tofu for the chicken. In over 100 restaurants this is the FIRST to refuse and instead insist I order a tofu dish from their dinner menu at twice the price. So we did, and for twice the price was given a meal about the same size as the lunch box. While the mixed veggies lunch one of us ordered with a curry sauce was flavorful and veggies cooked perfectly, the General Tao's sauce was ok, more like a sweet and sour than a General Tao's. Tables were sticky. We waited in the restaurant for over 30 minutes for our two lunch items. Clearly a takeout place, won't be back. read more

I'm definitely back in the south. Land of weird Chinese food. This place is nothing great. It's your typical Chinese place with the same menu items that you'd find in the south. Pork Fried rice tastes of burnt oil. Kung Pu chicken, as it's listed on the menu, has massive chunks of veggies and is not spicy whatsoever. My favorite thing I ordered was the Veggie Lo Mein. Again, it was nothing special but it is exactly what you might expect if you've had Chinese food in the south before. read more

Previously called and asked what their vegetarian safe options were and was told that the homestyle tofu and vegetables was so I ordered it quite a few times. The last time that I called I asked more specifically about the ingredients and came to find out that although they said it was "vegetarian safe" it was actually made with BEEF Broth....with that being said if you don't understand your customers question, don't just provide an answer. Very disappointing... Took about 45 minutes to receive delivery and it was probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Shrimp in the Shrimp Fried Rice were small and mushy. Crab Rangoon had no crab that I could see or taste. I will not be ordering from here again. read more

This place has absolutely delicious pork fried rice and their wings are pretty darn good too!!

I ordered a quart container of the shrimp in lobster sauce. It was a quart of liquid broth (probably chicken broth) with a few vegetables in it. My point is that it was not thickened in the least so how are you supposed to pour it over rice without making rice soup. It is supposed to be a sauce, not thin liquid. The large shrimp in it, however, were cooked perfectly. All that I could eat were the shrimp. I paid almost $10.00 for this. read more
