This is nice coffee place at the corner of Thurlow and W. Georgia. They have a nice patio with plenty of tables. Inside is big as well. Crowd are professional, not a lot of students, mostly people who work downtown probably. I always liked their coffee. It doesn't have strong taste for the medium blend. They have lots of options when it comes to pastries and donuts. That's why I like this coffee company. And they are good sized too for the price. I like this place and recommend it when you are downtown. It's close to the water where you can have a nice walk before or after.
6/5/26 Bought two bags of beans to bring back home.. Coffee was dancing in my dreams ... after a very tiring and exhausting travel day home.. Back to normalcy, up early to grind.. Added TJ brown sugar oat milk creamer.. Oh my... how smooth it tastes.. Old School Espresso! Can't wait to taste the Organic Espresso Bio Nougats- dried dates- walnuts..
An update to my previous review. We heard that the London Fog drink was invented in Vancouver in 1997. Knowing how good 49th Parallel is with coffee I thought I'd try their version of the London Fog. I wasn't disappointed. In fact it was best London Fog I've ever had. I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.
I like this coffee shop, spacious interior and outdoor patio seating is available. They have decent quality food, daily fresh donuts, and it's located in the base of a corporate tower so it has this sort of professionalesque vibe. The baristas are super kind and their coffee is top notch! Was served quickly and had an enjoyable experience here.
This place was so busy when we walked in around 9am (it also happens to be cruise day and FIFA) so the line was long and it took a bit to get our coffee orders. Most of the staff were really nice but there was one girl that seemed to have a bit of an attitude or just seemed annoyed. My brown sugar shaken espresso with oat milk was made extremely sweet with barely any oat milk, so I had to get it remade. I usually hate to be that person but the drink was essentially undrinkable. The doughnuts looked so good and seemed really popular so I got the sprinkle doughnut and it really wasn't that great. I was expecting Krispy Kreme melt-in-your mouth texture but it was kind of stale.
We stopped by 49th Parallel Coffee in Vancouver and it was the first thing we ate after flying in earlier that morning. I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
So I got to try a super delicious vanilla latte with almond milk thanks to 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters and loved it! I was in Harvest Wagon on Yonge St., Toronto and was offered a complimentary coffee of my choice made by friendly sales rep, Manon. The blend is called Old School Espresso and I immediately loved the rich flavour. Manon added the perfect amount of vanilla syrup so it allowed me to enjoy the fantastic coffee bean flavour much more. And the latte tasted even better with each delicious sip! It was a nice unexpected treat that made my day!
i'm a sucker for strawberry matcha lattes, and consider it more as a summer treat, but this one completely shifted that mindset. the holiday feature sign for the strawberry matcha caught my eye outside 49th parallel on thurlow, so of course i wandered in. it was about 2:30 pm on a thursday and the café was already busy, a steady lineup forming while rows of donuts on display sat looking far too tempting. the space has that bright, open vibe, located inside an office building with tall ceilings, warm wood accents, soft hanging lights, marble tabletops, relaxed and inviting even with the bustle. the drink itself was a whole moment. in the clear cup, the strawberry purée sits at the bottom like a bright red ribbon, the matcha layers above in a gentle green swirl, and then a thick cloud of cold foam settles on top. the red dusting over the foam adds a simple but festive touch, almost like a holiday themed iced matcha. flavour wise, it's surprisingly balanced. the strawberry purée mixes in easily, adding a soft sweetness that lifts the matcha without taking over. the matcha is mild, not too grassy, and the cold foam gives it that creamy, decadent finish that ties everything together. every sip hits that fruity, earthy, creamy mix, refreshing, but with a cozy energy that suits the season. overall, it's a lovely seasonal twist on a drink i already adore. if you're into matcha with a bit of fun or want something that feels both festive and refreshing, this strawberry matcha latte is definitely worth a stop.
Large space for joining friends for a chat and good times. Donuts & assortment of food items are available. Lines are often long but moves quickly. Indoor & outdoor seating. Restrooms require a key that can be obtained from the security counter in the main lobby. Iced mocha is delicious & keeps me coming back. Location is easy to find on the corner of Georgia & Thurlow.
I was staying at the adjoining hotel and this spot always seemed to be busy every time I walked past, so I knew it was worth a try! The shop is rather large, with ample seating inside and even more patio seating outside. You enter and are immediately enticed by the indulgent doughnuts from Lucky's Doughnuts. It took every ounce of my willpower to resist the crème brûlée doughnut, it looked amazing! I placed my order of a large dirty Ginger Spiced Chai with almond milk and noticed that they only accept credit. Totally fine with me, but good for others to be aware of. After adding a shot of espresso and swapping for almond milk and a tip, my total was north of $10, which I guess is to be expected of a downtown coffee shop, but still on the pricier side. My drink was up in a matter of minutes and because it was a chilly day, I opted to enjoy it inside. It is velvety smooth and has a slight spice, but it's missing the kick that I look for in a really good chai. I was expecting that since it's a ginger spiced chai, which I figure would have made it on the spicier side. It was still a very delicious drink, but I've had better.
large outdoor seating area that was very clean and cute. large indoor area as well. they were really nice and helpful and quick. i just got the mango passion fruit bismark and blueberry lemon bismark which were both 10/10. flavor was spectacular, custard was perfect in every aspect (texture was great and not too sweet). donut itself was little dense but otherwise very great donut! highly recommend and they were beautiful too!
Such a beautiful cafe! The coffee was excellent. I got try their maple sea salt latte and it was so good. This was the redeeming coffee shop in Vancouver as I was beginning to lose hope in finding a good coffee shop in this area. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, with very tall ceilings, lots of greenery, and the cutest part is that their color is Tiffany blue so all the mugs and cups and even the coffee bags are the prettiest blue. lots of indoor seating, and even more outdoor seating, and it is super close to the waterfront and walking distance from the financial district. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop if you're in the area and you are looking for a delicious treat. We also got to try some of their breakfast specialties, including the Doug sandwich, and the avo sandwich, which were both very filling and delicious. As a bonus while we were at the café, the US rugby team also showed up and we got to see them which was pretty cool!
Why 5 stars? Because I'll never forget that beautiful Old Fashioned Salted Caramel. --- --- --- We were on a 5-day vacation between Vancouver and Banff, and it is not an exaggeration to say that the old fashioned was one of the best things I ate on the whole trip. We didn't even necessarily plan to visit 49th Parallel, and I definitely didn't plan on ordering a donut, but it looked so appealing that I couldn't pass up the opportunity. And I'm so glad I didn't. It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the perfect flavor. If I lived nearby, I would have a dangerous addiction to these delightful slices of heaven. Unfortunately, nearby... I am not. I also enjoyed my coffee and my salmon bagel very much. But the salted caramel old fashioned stole the show. Bless you, donut chef.

The keto breakfast was amazing. Very light and refreshing. My husband and I ordered the apple fritters, creme brûlée, and glazed donuts. They were sweet and fluffy. I think it would be better if they were warmed up though. The service was good. They're quick, they bring you your food if you dine in and they bus for you. Overall great experience! read more
This place was recommended to me by a local bud. The place had a great selection of coffee beverages and even offered a version of the Bulletproof coffee. If you're feeling Hungry or Hangry, you can even order we Lucky donuts. Huge. So being a bulletproof fan, I ended up ordering the Keto Coffee with MCT oil etc. It tastes average and surprisingly similar to the stuff I make at home. I can't say it tastes bad bit defiNitely not the same aromas and flavors as the original bulletproof I had in LA read more

I have a soft spot for 49th & Lucky's as I used to live right behind the one on main and was mainlining their peanut butter jelly donut and iced americanos. I was super happy to discover they opened something in the downtown core, not too far of a walk from the hotel. We had about 3 visits here, they open at 6:30 am, start serving their breakfast sandwiches/other goods at 7am. This worked super well for us since we couldn't seem to break from east coast time. Plus it's much nicer food and coffee than popping into McDonald's or Tim Hortons. Over the visit we had a bunch of donuts, salted caramel, cinnamon sugar, tiramisu, sour-doughnut, donut holes and a few crullers. The donuts are all delicious, although I feel like the first few cake donuts I had (salted caramel and cinnamon) weren't fried in hot enough oil and had absorbed too much of it. The cruller was the stand out and we just kept getting those instead. We also had the Cascadia egg sandwich a few times. (medium egg, bacon, cheese, tomato relish and honey mustard) That was a revelation in egg sandwiches for me. The tomato relish is EVERYTHING. I'm trying to find a way to replicate it at home because I don't think I can enjoy breakfast without it. Tangy and sweet, cutting through the richness of the sandwich and balancing it out perfectly. 15/10 would pay $7 for and eat forever. We also had some regular coffees, lattes, London fogs and ginger chai lattes. The London fogs were particularly delicious, but the chai wasn't very... chai. A little too subtle spice wise and fairly floral. Def still a favourite of mine, and perfect location for me as I generally stay downtown when visiting! read more

A favorite breakfast spot on the beautiful seawall in Vancouver. Right next to the Bayshore Westin, Six Degrees serves everything from generous sized healthy muffins to a delicious avocado toast with a poached egg, arugula with balsamic and Parmesan, accompanied with blueberries, strawberries and blackberries! I ordered a side is crispy bacon with it and everything was delicious. read more

After hearing the hype for this place I was really stoked to try it! I got the staff recommendation for the lemon meringue donut and it was way too sour and overwhelming. I also got the ginger spice chai which taste like a normal chai latte that you can get from Starbucks.. Cute decor though and seems like a d try spot to have a coffee meeting with someone! read more

One of my favourite spots in the DT area to grab a coffee or breakfast. And of course Lucky's donuts. The egg burgers here are amazing (The cascade and the Doug). I'm a big fan of the Doug cuz i prefer my eggs runny. They also have a low carb (keto) breakfast plate. Its a bit pricey, but its DT Vancouver prices and you pay for the quality Food : Great Service :Friendly Ambiance : Casual Worth the price : Aww yisss read more

Honestly one of the best coffees I've had in a while. We went a few times while visiting Vancouver and the drinks were perfect each time. We also tried the donuts which were solid and the breakfast sandwiches which were really good but a bit heavy on the bread - it was like a very dense brioche that took away from all the delicious things inside the sandwich. Would definitely come back for the coffee though! read more
As I work in the area, I've been waiting for this cafe to open. The inside is nice and new. The turquoise mugs were new as well, compared to the older looking ones you'd see at other locations. They didn't have any of the donuts I wanted. As I already had my caffeine fix I ended up buying two donuts, but they got one of them wrong. I had asked for old fashioned and they gave me the standard. Should have checked the bag first. The donuts were ok tasting. Will go back for coffee next time. read more

49th parallel deserves 5 stars, because in my opinion, they have the best coffee & the best donuts in the city. If I'm giving 4 for now, it's solely because of the issues I assume that come with opening a new spot, even when this cafe is already an established fixture in the city. Won't go into specifics but there were a few customer service related things that could've been handled slightly better, and donut availability has been hit or miss, but the overall quality is in no way impacted. Really glad this location opened up. Much easier to get to compared to the Kits & Main locations for most people that don't live in Vancouver. They'll smooth out the customer service issues, I'm sure of it. read more

Love their donuts. My favorite here is pistachio donut . I don't know how many I have had recently. I moved to Toronto and I still crave them. read more
Came on a friend's recommendation, but left very dissatisfied. Service was good, but pricing is expensive for just donuts and coffee. Selling "gourmet" donuts is pretty ridiculous when donuts itself are very cheap to make. The average price is about $3 for a donut. I ordered a strawberry old fashioned (average donut) and a french cruller (tasted egg-y, like eating a raw egg). Also had the Venezuelan coffee (nothing special). Seating was cramped, but if you're on the go that is best. TL;DR bad donuts and expensive read more

Clean, crisp and very trendy interior. Great spot to catch up over a cup of coffee or get some studying done. I love the marble accents throughout the store and the Tiffany blue mugs that they serve their coffee in. I can see that this would make for great social media shots! I've yet to try their coffee, but it's next on my list. I picked up half a dozen donuts and the one that really impressed me (I thought it wouldn't have) was the raspberry glazed, mango passion fruit-filled donut. It was AMAZING. The tartness of the passion fruit, light mango flavor and sweet raspberry glaze went so well together, and the donut balanced out all the flavors. I thought this was a nicely done donut in terms of flavor fusions and sweetness. I've always been a fan of their chocolate old fashioned, so this is something I'll always opt for. The pistachio glazed wasn't something I'll get again.. it really lacks any pistachio flavor to be honest. I also tried their strawberry old fashioned which was interesting.. It had a light strawberry glaze. All in all, great spot to get a coffee and donuts. I think the location is rather convenient and although the space is a tad small, it's still worth a try to attempt finding a seat. Prices are obviously a tad on the pricier side for donuts, but as expected, you get what you pay for in terms of quality. I wouldn't hesitate to treat myself to these delicious donuts any day! read more

The best coffee shop I've visited in Vancouver. Very trendy. Very busy. Sometimes hard to find a seat during peak hours, but they have outdoor seating available as well. They're partnered with Lucky's Donut and had a good selection of donuts; however, they are a bit on the pricier side for donuts. read more

Stopped by here after spending the night downtown and we were glad we did. We ordered a regular latte and their Hibiscus Espresso Tonic. We were only planning to grab a drink but we saw their Kono Coffee Kruller and we had to get it. If you see this when you visit, you must get it. It was so light and airy, not very sweet with a mild coffee flavor. After we finished we contemplated getting another one but decided against it so we didn't spoil our lunch. read more
