This was the best Restaurant I have eaten in for a very long time. The food was spectacular! From the insalata misti to the Tagliata that was ordered rare and served rare! The best Panna Cotta with the best chocolate sauce. Stefanino was so nice and efficient and even brought us a taste of grappa. This is a 5+ place with reasonable Rome prices!!! 34 hands down was one of the best meals I had in Italy. We came here after seeing the Spanish steps in Rome. We were hungry and wanted dinner. We chose our seats outside and were warmly greeted by our waiter. He was very good. We ordered a half bottle of white and red wine for our table. Then I ordered the gnocchi with prawns in a red sauce and my husband ordered the Special 34 ravioli's. That gnocchi was so good, I was sad when I finished it. No joke. Like almost in tears, sad. The ravioli was delish too - my hubby let me have a bite or two. Then I ordered the grilled calamari and my husband ordered the veal roman style. Both were amazing. Everything was just perfect. If I could give this place a zero I would. Horrible, horrible service and very rude employees. First we went in and it was very visible that tables were available for service, yet the short Hispanic looking man refused us. So we went out and called the restaurant and made a reservation for three and they said there was a table open for us. As soon we we went back in, the short Hispanic man gave us a table for two, when it was visibly apparent that there was three people and a reservation for three. Then, when we pointed that out, he got loud and told us that that it was what was available. Obviously he is either illogical or very rude. Finally, they cleared a table off for us (which I mind you we had to wait for) then as soon we sat, we did not receive menus for 5 minutes. And after 15 minutes had passed no one even asked if we wanted a drink. This establishment is pure disappointment and we would never recommend anyone to support a business this rude. read more

You must eat here when you visit Roma! This place was FANTASTIC!! We had some of the best food here during our two week stay in Roma. I had the carbonara pasta and my bf had the ravioli with some of the best creme sauce I have ever had in my life! We also tried the squash blossoms which I really liked, but my bf didn't like at all because the anchovies were just too strong for him. The waiter recommended their house wine which not only was very inexpensive, it was also awesome! I even found the same brand here at home! Yay! I only wish we could have eaten here more. We were hungry and didn't want to talk far and found this restaurant on yelp for dinner. The mixed cured meat plate was a monster portion and the black bean soup with lobster was an absolute delight. My veal osso bucco was ok but the pasta with lobster and seafood was out of this world, hopefully Molly that must be the most tasty pasta I have had for as long as I can remember, salty but beautiful. What an amazing place, a block from the Spanish Steps. Sitting outsize or inside - you can't go wrong. They have 2 different types of meatball entrees, I had the veal ones, which were amazing. We also had the red table wine which was cheap and awesome. Let me brag about the Tiramisu - OK, I have never had one as fresh, moist and amazing as this. No Tiramisu anywhere else can ever compete. This is a must have, even if you are stuffed. The owner was super friendly and talked to us at our table. The staff was overly attentive. The pesto wheelbarrow pasta was the best pesto pasta I've ever had in my life. You also can't go wrong with the branzino. The brick vaulted ceilings provide an incredible atmosphere. Sure it's close to the Piazza d'Espagna, but this place still feels like a locals' haunt rather than an overrun tourist gimmick. We had just arrived in Rome and we're looking for a restaurant to have a nice first meal in Italy before proceeding with our busy schedule of doing absolutely nothing... Italian style! We arrived and were seated within 5 minutes. We had a couple lovely appetizers (the burrata could be creamier) and generally the food was good. Unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing. Both courses came very late and we probably waited a good half hour between the starters and the main course. Worst meal and service we have had after 2 weeks in Italy. The cacio Pepe was cold and I could pick the entire plate of pasta up with the fork as it was stuck together like a brick. The "special" burrata bruschetta was soggy and tasted like warm cream cheese. The lamb Roman style was no meat just fat and bone. Good service, very friendly but got a bit slow when they got busy - we struggled to get the bill at the end, but they were really very busy at that point. Dined al fresco which was extremely pleasant. We shared a saute'd mussel appetiser - it was plenty for two and was delicious, melt in your mouth tender mussels, succulent with a lovely broth. Mains were the fried sea bream which was cooked on a layer of potato rosti and was very nice and a shrimp and monkfish wrap, once again very nice. We ordered sides of veg - which were good but not really needed as the mains came with assorted veg. Realistically a 4.5 out of 5 place. Slow service at the end was the only negative. read more

Best dinner we had in Rome, hands down. They had a larger menu compared to other restaurants in Rome that all had a small menu of the same typical dishes. They had all the typical dishes plus a wide variety of meat and seafood dishes. Everything was super fresh with generous portions. Simple ingredients and well-seasoned food. There were a lot of locals eating here and the servers were all kind and helpful. I highly recommend and will def return. read more

Greetings from Rome my fellow Yelpsters! Dined at 34 last night on recommendation of my hotel San Carlo. Seated promptly. Service throughout the nite was a bit inattentive as I've come to expect in my European travels. Ordered squash blossoms (what we would call zucchini blossoms) and a first course pasta dish with a mushroom & meat sauce I can't pronounce nor recall. Squash blossoms were not the light & airy lightly fried versions we might expect in U.S.--these were much larger about the size of a hamburger patty--and as best I could forensically decipher the blossom is paired with mozzarella & some pork before friying. End result is like a high level mozzarella stick. Pasta dish was nice but not memorable. Probably looked to be about 70% tourist and while interior and ambience were acceptable I'll look for better options in the nights to come. Do it if you need to otherwise keep walking. read more

Went at 8:45 and got a table inside for 5. Cool and well air conditioned after very hot day. Very busy and service was slow (15 min for waiter to come to table; 15 min more for bottle of water to arrive at table). Food was excellent - grilled bass was while fish that was deboned by waiter; spaghetti with clams was fabulous - great sauce and tons of clams (also spaghetti with seafood was amazing). We happened to just walk by and it looked great. The food was wonderful and the wait staff really was attentive. My wife had the wild boar ragu which she loved, and I had the ox tail. I wouldn't have been so bold to pick the ox tail but the server explained to me that it is an Rome specialty and it is like a braised, slow cooked pot roast. I took the gamble on it, OMG it was the most tasty and memorable dish from my whole trip to Italy. Had the Panna cotta for desert and that was pretty good too. We were looking for authentic and we found it. We started with the tortellini soup and a Caesar salad. The tortellini soup was amazing in a clear broth and fresh herbs, the Caesar wasn't quite like a classic Caesar, yet still tasty. Gnocchi with prawns was a unique and perfectly flavored dish as well as the Sicilian style pesto pasta with almonds rather than pine nuts. The dessert, a frozen hazelnut with hot chocolate, was to die for. What made this meal extra special was our server, Hermano. You could tell he had been a waiter for a long time, he was seemingly rushed maybe to some at first, and a little gruff on the exterior, yet we so enjoyed his entertaining responses, smiles, recommendations and, when we asked his opinion on chocolate salami, simply, "It's a problem".
