I was just there on 6/16 just around opening time and the prices that we were charged at the restaurant do not match what is currently posted on their website. Not a deal breaker but i like to know what Im getting myself into when I check out a new restairant. We were charged $30 for the shrimp and grits but the online menu says $28. To add oxtail we were charged an additional $14, not $9 as it says online. We were charged $15 for the mocktails, not the $14 so be prepared to pay a little more than what is currently being displayed on the website. Please also be advised that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to parties of 2 or more, yes 2 or more. I wouldn't have minded for the party of 4 that i was just with but the service was basically just the bare minimum. I think we can agree that the industry baseline is 18% for standard service. I just feel like if youre going to going automatically impose a 20% gratuity, then the service should be above standard, just a little bit, but it wasnt. We arrived around 11:30 AM, not too long after opening and were probably one of the first, if not the first patrons of the day so it was definitely not busy. We did not receive the service that other reviewers have been raving about (probably a different server). To be automatically charged a 20% gratuity you would think that she would have been more attentive, friendly and communicative. By the way,a bottle of stilled water is $10 that only fills 4 glasses. The food was decent but not worth the prices. The 3 pieces of lamb chops, 5 pieces of asparagus and a side of mashed potatoes was not worth the $45. It wasnt horrible but it didnt blow my mind either. While the restaurant has an upscale atmosphere, it does not match the neighborhood. The total of our bill was $400, with the 20% that was already included. Do I believe the $65 gratuity that was automatically charged well worth it? No, not at all. Oh. And they dont accept tap to pay? I wasn't asking for Apple Pay which I know they dont accept because it does state that on the website. I also dont have an iphone.. I just wanted to tap with my phone. I had forgotten my wallet with all my physical credit cards but have them saved on my phone. I thought tapping with my phone with NFC is the same technology as using a physical card but she said they didnt accept tap? Weird. read more

The espresso tower was expertly prepared--smooth, balanced, and clearly crafted by someone who understands that caffeine is a sacred thing. For the main event, I ordered the shrimp and grits, garlic wings, and French toast, because brunch is no time for restraint. The shrimp and grits were light yet deeply flavorful, with shrimp seasoned so perfectly they deserve their own standing ovation. The garlic wings followed suit--well-cooked, boldly seasoned, and impossible to eat politely. And then there was the French toast. Frankly, the French toast stole the show. Light, buttery, and indulgent without crossing into dessert territory, it delivered sweetness without excess and flavor without apology. While it lacked the crisped edges one might hope for, it was so delicious that I forgave it immediately--no negotiation required. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, generously portioned, and well-priced, making this a strong contender in the brunch arena. I'd confidently give this spot a 9 out of 10. One final--and important--note: make a reservation. The wait can be long (an hour in my case, which is ambitious for brunch). One thing to note is that the restaurant has a 90-minute dining limit. Guests are expected to order everything upfront because once the time is up, you may not have the opportunity to order additional items, including dessert. This was my first time experiencing a time limit at a restaurant, so it felt a bit rushed at times. For appetizers, the Honey Garlic wings were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Shrimp Tempura arrived extremely hot, which made it difficult to eat right away, but unfortunately it lacked a bit of seasoning and flavor. The Shrimp and Grits was definitely one of the standout dishes of the night. It arrived piping hot and full of flavor. I actually burned my mouth taking the first bite because it was served so fresh, but overall it was delicious. The Oxtail with Mac and Cheese was another enjoyable combination. The oxtail had a good traditional flavor, although it did not include beans. My only complaint was that the portion size felt small for the price. My husband ordered the steak and fries, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. As for drinks, the cocktails were overpriced, and surprisingly the mocktails felt even more expensive for what they offered. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try dessert. Once our dining time was up, our waitress brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert to-go. She appeared focused on assisting another table, so it gave the impression that once your time is over, it's time to leave. Food is ok, menu is small lacks variety & portions are small doesn't make up for the price. The jerk wings were good but I received mine slightly burnt, oxtail Mac & cheese was ok. But small & only received 3 pieces of meat. If they're charging $13 extra for it customer should receive more. In total the mini plate was $29. Increase the serving size for that skillet. We showed up on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation and waited about 30 minutes to be seated at the bar which wasn't bad at all. First thing I noticed here, is that the staff is very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was great. A DJ showed up in the middle of us dining and it definitely turned into a bit of a party atmosphere in there. We enjoyed that! We started with the deviled eggs and the calamari. Deviled eggs were soooooo yummy. That crispy bacon on top takes it to the next level. The calamari was good but not memorable. For our entrees, I had the jerk shrimp and grits and my husband had the baileys chicken and waffles. The shrimp was very tasty and flavorful. I didn't enjoy the slightly mushy texture and I think they could've used jumbo shrimp for this dish. The grits were robust and hearty. The dish filled me up but I don't eat a ton. My husband enjoyed his entree. The Baileys drizzle is quite spicy so something to keep in mind. The hostess saw me and let me in and I waited in the hallway area until they opened the restaurant . The place is quite small and seating can be very tight . The tables give on appearance as though they are dirty..they are not unfortunately just stained and in my opinion should either be replaced or considering cover with table cloths to give a cleaner appearance. As mentioned in other reviews, the service could be better- more attentive. My sister ordered cranberry juice and it was basically water. We were trying to get the servers attention for forever before he noticed us and worth noting that the table nearby had the same issue the juice and with getting servers attn. It doesn't have a lot of seating so I would think it gets really crowded in the evenings and weekends My waitress was Nicola and she was really good. I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Marley, he was very friendly, I don't know his position in the business I had a Cosmopolitan and it was good, we had a Marguerita that was good also.
