Would give their coffee another try in future. The pastries were amazing though. The lemon bar - perfection. The brunch braid was okay - I liked the concept but I don't know if I'd get it again. Then came for lunch. Had a chunky monkey smoothie - it was a little watery in the middle but still delicious. The cranberry walnut chicken salad on sourdough was exactly what I was craving. And that sourdough - so good! The place itself is really cute and they sell some local items. There's a blind date with a book section and they sell Hoppy Pop (which is incredible). Everyone was super nice and friendly.

Donut Kitchen is INCREDIBLE-- the breakfast sandwiches are my favorites, Bacon Egg and Cheese on a Bulkie is my go to and it is tops. I stopped here one Saturday, picked one up and a delicious cup of coffee (New England Brand is Excellent) then ran up to the library to drop off a book, when I came out my dog had eaten my sandwich. My fault-- I saw the look he was giving me when I got out, and I couldn't blame him because it's THAT good. So I shot back over and got another one. I usually grab a donut too while I'm waiting for my sandwich order-- everything is fresh, the bacon is nice and crisp-- this isn't food made in a microwave like DD-- this is grilled food! The apple cinnamon muffins are out of this world too. It's a clean friendly little place with a great staff and excellent food. What else do you need?? Cash Only-- but there is an ATM inside.

Little did I know, they were closed for the season. Not wanting to go home without ending my trip with a scoop of my favorite flavor, I searched up ice cream in the local area and came up with Goodhile's. The place is cute with a walk up window and tables out front. The young guy that served me ice cream was busy working in the back and I wasn't even sure they were open. After I got his attention, I ended up with a really good Black raspberry ice cream on a sugar cone with chocolate jimmies. I sat at the table and enjoyed every bit of it. The quality and flavor were excellent. After, I decided to go in the store that's attached. It brought back memories of living in MA. It's a typical corner store with everything you could need. I got a cup of coffee and at lottery ticket. The guy at the counter explained my options since I only play once or twice a year. I would definitely stop here again. They have ice cream year round.

Second, the "Italian herbs and cheese" was nearly white bread. Barely any herbs, and pretty sure there was no cheese. It ALMOST resembled the herbs and cheese, but they definitely were stingy on the flavors/seasonings. Third, OMG THEY ARE STINGY ON VEGGIES. On a foot long, they gave FOUR tomatoes, FIVE pickles, and TWO banana peppers. Asking for extra of everything should not be a standard at a subway. Fourth, I asked for "a little" honey mustard and they pretty much dumped the container on the sub. Cost me $7.45. I only ordered a footling ham with veggies. Nothing special. I asked if that was correct and apparently it was. Not going back here. This location needs to do better.

This gas station is conveniently located right along 122A. It was previously a Hess Express. I've gone here regularly for years, but now after the conversion to a Speedway, I've noticed their regular unleaded gas is 86 octane. I'm not too thrilled about that since my car requires 87 (as do most economy cars nowadays). Seems a bit misleading that they're selling less than average gas.

It was close to 7:30 pm on a Tuesday in July, and there was no one. A customer in front of me was a bit frustrated with his order, and I heard him yell, "I'll just come in!" He did pull into the place where you wait for your order. I pulled to the window, and I knew I would have to ask for ketchup and a napkin for my meal. I guess no one eats fries with ketchup and no one uses a napkin anymore? I then drove to the library to eat in my car. The fish was slammed to the side of the bun so far that I thought it wouldn't be able to be placed properly with the melted cheese, and the two pickles were folded angrily, and I almost didn't see it in between the tartar sauce. And the fries were COLD! I couldn't finish them. And the window person only gave me ONE KETCHUP PACKET AND ONE NAPKIN!!! ALL FOR $11.15!!!!!!! No wonder I only eat out every other month or so. This was ridiculous. Too bad Market Basket isn't nearby. You can get a hot prepared meal, and they are way nicer for a fraction of the cost. I've been living in Holden for 15 years, but I'm a NC Southern girl. I had my first job at 15 years old at Burger King. It was in the 1990s, in the middle of three universities and two colleges, and summers were busy. But we were still expected to have hot fries and fresh burgers at all times. We were constantly refreshing the fries and refilling the condiments. I don't think the fast food industry and expectations are the same anymore. But the young man at the window was an awkward teenager. That hasn't changed. I was that awkward teen once.

Having grown up in the area and visiting this location hundreds of times, I can say with certainty…read morethat this is one of the tougher dunkin locations around. Significant language barriers result in wrong orders a good amount of the time, and I mean above and beyond "normal" dunkin donuts mistakes. If the average location produces an expected wrong order 10% of the time, I would up the rate to around 50% for this location. Product taste is also a major negative for me here. It's like playing a game of coffee Russian roulette- will your coffee have more water than the Holden pool? Will it taste like every one of Red Auerbach's cigars were blended into that cold brew? Did someone accidentally leave the coffee burner on a setting higher than Joe Cocker at Woodstock? These are the mysteries that reveal themselves with each nasty sip. I have no issue with the friendliness or cleanliness of this location, though the drive-thru design is about as efficient as a 1971 furnace. If possible, I would recommend a different dunkin location. If that's just not feasible, be prepared for a disappointing experience.
